Frequently Asked Questions
Want to know more about Princess Cruises
Are gratuities included?

The Crew Appreciation is a daily amount for each guest that will be automatically added to your onboard account for your convenience. The amount of the Crew Appreciation is paid in USD and is based on your stateroom type. The Crew Appreciation is subject to adjustment at your discretion at any time during the cruise. For sailings departing from an Australian port, Crew Appreciation is already included in your pre-paid fare and will not be billed onboard.

How do I pay onboard a Princess cruise?

Princess offers the convenience of charging all your onboard expenses to your stateroom. You will receive your OceanMedallion before you board, either in the mail or at the terminal, during check-in. The Medallion allows you to make TrulyTouchless™ purchases onboard and is linked to your personal shipboard account, where all purchases are charged.

Onboard charges are in USD. However, if you’re sailing roundtrip from Australia, all onboard charges are in AUD.

Can I bring my own alcohol onboard?

On embarkation day, guests are permitted to bring one 750ml bottle of wine or champagne on board per voyage. This will not be subject to a corkage fee if consumed in your stateroom. Additional wine or champagne bottles are welcome, but will incur a US$20 (or AU$30, depending on shipboard currency) corkage fee each, irrespective of where they are intended to be consumed. Liquor, spirits, or beers are not permitted.

Alcoholic beverages that are purchased duty free from The Shops of Princess, or at ports of call, will be collected for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the cruise.

Do I need a passport to take a Princess Cruise?

For cruises that only visit Australian ports, a valid passport or government-issued photo ID is required for all guests.

If your Princess Cruises itinerary includes visiting countries other than Australia, a valid passport is mandatory for all guests. Many countries require passports to be valid for six months after the completion of your travel, so check your passport to verify it will be valid for this period.

Are Princess Cruises family-friendly?

Princess Cruises provides kid-friendly amenities, from social basketball tournaments and dance classes to late-night movies. Some ships also offer backyard games, splash parks, gaming consoles and youth clubs from 6 months to 17 years of age.

Enjoy a parents' night out with group kidsitting, kids-only dinners, pizza parties and more.

Are there adults-only areas on Princess Cruises?

Most Princess Cruises ships have an adults-only area called the Sanctuary. This top-deck space is exclusively reserved for adults aged 16+. Want more? Choose a relaxing spa treatment, swim in The Retreat pool or head to the Casino (charges may apply).

Will the ship have Wi-Fi?

With MedallionNet® and MedallionNet® Max Wi-Fi, you can easily stay connected while onboard. Packages can be purchased before or during your cruise. Internet access fees vary and are subject to change.

What are the cabins like?

All Princess Cruises staterooms include 100% cotton linens, a flat-screen TV, a refrigerator and a safe. You’ll also enjoy a comfortable sleep at sea on a mattress, developed exclusively for Princess with a board-certified sleep expert.

Budget-conscious travellers love the interior staterooms. However, groups and families enjoy the convenience of connecting staterooms and family suites. Want more? Choose a full suite with premium upgrades and complimentary features, like laundry and professional cleaning services.

How do I check in for my cruise?

Prepare for your cruise by downloading the Princess® Cruises App to complete the OceanReady® steps. When you enter your personal information and upload your travel documents in the app, make sure your name appears in your OceanReady® Profile exactly as entered in your passport. Before you leave for your cruise, you can also print your luggage tags from Manage Booking on the Princess Cruises website.
