Yuka was an excellent guide - so knowledgeable, clear, humorous and generous. She went above and beyond and her expertise made such a difference to us getting the most out of our time there. The highlight was definitely Miyajima Island. The hakone day trip cruise was a bit garish - not worth it, as it was very crowded and noisy. I think it is good that there are free days on offer in the key cities - Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. It would have been nice to have gone on a bullet train for longer than a couple of stops. Some of the later hotels had a few issues - the ones in Osaka (Heartington) and Hiroshima (Vessel) weren’t as comfortable, though noting it was the high season, so availability would have been challenging. The Heartington was a bit of a disappointment (limited breakfast and smelled like smoke) but was very happy with the Comfort Era in Kyoto - as substitutions. The Gifu hotel - though grand - had mould in the room. Better to have a neat, smaller room than an over the top, unclean one. China Eastern was ok (good service experience, average food) but if I had my time again, I would buy a tour only package and fly direct myself, due to the stopovers.
Our guide Brendan was fantastic. From the moment he collected us from the airport to the time he dropped us back at the end of the tour he was delightful. He was very well informed and got to know each and every passenger. We were fortunate to see all of the top 5 wild animals of Borneo. With the exception of Sandakan, our accommodation was excellent. Breakfast each morning was great and the selection of lunch/dinner locations were very good also. The entire tour was well thought out and really showcased what Borneo has to offer. I wouldn't change a thing and would highly recommend the tour to anyone.
All of it excellent. The tour guide is excellent. The only downfall is the time for transit. I am sure TAD is aware how difficult the line for immigration and should have given as a guide being a first timer in Vietnam. We almost missed our flight if we didn’t cut so many lines. 2 hrs transit is not enough.
Our guide was good but confused our group several times with deadline for meeting etc. Very rushed at times and not enough time to actually shop or browse when desired. Luggage didn’t fit under the bus so a couple of things had to be on the bus too. Saw some amazing sights but would have been good to be told what we were actually seeing.
A seriously great trip. Stunning scenery combined with a brilliant Tour Guide who was organised and knowledgeable. A small group tour which allowed you to get to know your travelling partners. Great food along the way and some fantastic activities which allowed us to see the REAL Vietnam and its people. Accomodation was top notch. Would recommend to all.
Trip was fantastic. Our guide Roland went above and beyond to make our trip the best possible. Enjoyed every moment. The bus was sheer luxurious and the driver always made us feel safe. Would recommend this trip to everyone. Lovely group of people that we travelled with. The animals were the highlight for me . The Hilton and the shangri la resort, were a lovely way to end the holiday.
Really enjoyed being in the mountains and looking down at the villages views. Walking thru some of the villages, eg weaving, tobacco preparation, scented incense sticks, and watching people working in the rice, corn, tobacco and other fields. Relaxing on the cruise in Halong Bay. Having time to explore Hanoi.
It was a well organised trip. Our guides were terrific with nothing being too much trouble for them to secure our comfort and happiness. They were very knowledgeable about their countries history and politics. Nam and Som had particularly good English. They were all fun to be with. The hotels were very comfortable with excellent food. However we felt the food on the Halong Bay tour was poor.
Both the Hotel and ship were top class, excellent service and quality.
The trip was excellent, well organised and managed. Only the Paragon hotel Saigon room was too small and cramped with no airflow. All the rest were spacious and comfortable. The tours were well worth doing and lots of fun. Put it on your bucket list 😀
The wildlife above all and our wonderful tour guide Roland. He was professional and knowledgeable and the whole group felt the same. Answered all our questions, enjoyed a joke and was helpful. Would also like to mention Kardy (unsure of spelling) who was our driver. He managed the tour bus wonderfully, sometimes in tight spaces which were negotiated easily. I hope Trip A Deal value them as they are great.
I enjoyed the entire trip. It was well paced and interesting. The bus was fine, fellow passengers were a great mix, driver was excellent. The guide, Joi, had and excellent knowledge of English but her pronunciation was APPALLING!! The trip would have been perfect if we could have understood what she was telling us. Nice lady, probably writes well, but her speech is just a garbled mess!
Your tour guides, Michael, Stone and Emily were excellent. The bus drivers were exceptional. We felt safe at all times. A job well done by all of them. Your itinerary was great. We saw as much as we could in the timeframe we had. It was a great holiday, however would have been better if all the optional extra tours were able to be selected and paid before departing on the trip. Even though its stated they are "Optional", in some instances if you didn't do the optional tour, then you get left behind, or you cannot get to the next point. Therefore, you shouldn't claim that they are "Optional". Just include everything and increase your base price. Then it will be an "All Inclusive" holiday. Also, since the gratuities are non-negotiable, it would also have helped to have these paid prior to the tour. Your pricing is very good for the trip, except for the optional extras. We like knowing how much everything is before we travel, and would like to have everything paid up before travelling, to ensure we have enough money (cash) and also to ensure we have control of what any extra's would be, instead of being a surprise. Especially the gratuities. The hotels, some of our rooms didn't have a bar fridge. Most of the hotels were a little disappointing for 4 stars. The locations were good, near restaurants, shops and supermarkets, but the quality could have been a little better. There were only 2 hotels that were very good. We arrived at Shanghai airport, then another flight to Beijing, which was very long to arrive at midnight in Beijing to start the tour. You could start the tour in Shanghai, instead of flying to Beijing to start. Or possibly have flight go direct from Sydney to Beijing. The airport drop off and the end of the trip could have been better. Too many (5 Hours) hours just waiting for the plane to depart at midnight. Would have been better if we were taken to another attraction (or final chinese dinner) for a few hours before going to the airport so early. Logistically, possibly the bus load of people could be organised for the same departure times, as some peoples flights were a little earlier than others. Therefore, some had shorter waiting times than others. Otherwise, it was a memorable, great trip. thank you.
Golden bridge , tunnels , food , accommodation , smaller group would have made things better.
As my first trip to Japan it was a good overall introduction to the country. Unfortunately we were not able to experience all the points of interest on the program but other experiences were supplied to replace them. It was a lot of travelling on the bus on expressways. It is the only trip I have been on where the driver takes the full coach full of people to fill up the bus with fuel. The driver however was excellent and very kind. The guide was the rudest, most inflexible unhelpful guide I have ever experienced. His main interest was his tip for the trip. I chose not to tip him. He just wouldn't listen to the passengers. There was a medical incident with a passenger which he was totally unaware of. Fortunately it was only minor and others passengers assisted the lady. He was so far in front of the group he was totally unaware of the situation. I will guarantee there was no incident report filled. Upon arriving home and checking my Wise account there was a deduction that matched the cost of an optional tour plus his tip but no deduction matching the cost of the 1 optional tour I took. I did not check the amount he deducted from my account when I paid him for my optional tour. This was my fault but it has left me with a very disappointing feeling about paying electronically for tours. Cash is the only safe way when dealing in foreign currency. He called himself Ooi +81-90-8504-6545: Ooi
We were lucky to have a very good guide who was organised and lots of information about Sri Lanka. Accommodation was great every place we stayed at. Only complaint was splitting the group up as we got moved to a different resort because of overwater bungalows being renovated?? We had all bonded well and were enjoying each others company. Maldives was a fantastic way to finish our trip. Loved the elephant safari and eco green resort
1: As discussed in CASE NUMBER: 01752538, there was not enough time between connecting flights booked so I missed my connection in Shanghai, causing enormous amount of distress and having to spend the night on a seat in Pudong. 2: While the guide we had in Beijing (Jolie) was exceptional, other guides are generally more interested in taking you to shops where they get kick-backs than what would be beneficial for us. Our Shanghai guides were particularly bad.
Highlight was Hiroshima, Osaka and Tokyo. Low lights 1. The tour guide did his best considering the bus driver was angry all the time. Also 2 passengers travelling together (their 4th Tripadeal) made us late to depart. Tour guide did his best. 2. Access to 3 hotels we stayed at was poor. Hotel 1 (Osaka) - the coach had to stop on a main road in a no stopping zone where we had to collect our bags and walk around the block to get to the hotel. Hotel 2 (Hotel Lumiere Kasai) - we could not get to the hotel entrance to unload and we had to walk some 500m down the road to a carpark where the coach was parked. Hotel 3 (Tokyo) - the coach had to stop on a main road in a no stopping zone in the pouring rain where we had to collect our bags which were deposited in a flooding gutter due to the barrier at the edge of the road. 3. Not enough time at each destination. Due to the amount of travel and traffic, compensating for late arrivals. 4. This itinerary needs to be longer to allow for adequate site visiting time. Your Tripadeal itinerary should have been clear that travel time on coaches is longer due to Traffic in Japan. This let the holiday down a lot. After the Vietnam trip which was excellent, this was a disappointment
I loved India - it is an experience of intense culture, customs, colour and friendly people. It was hotter than usual - for March, which made site seeing a little uncomfortable in the afternoons. However the air conditioning in the buses was always excellent and a saver ! This trip is long and India is not easy to navigate. The itinerary does not flow at times or give enough time to rest after big travel days. Some of the accommodation was poorly located for distance to attractions and restaurants and shops. This of course meant that we could only eat at the hotel. Our first night in Kochi was really a waste. It really felt we were in the middle of nowhere. I don’t consider the accommodation was as good as what we should have had given the extra premium cost. A few guides were excellent. The others not so. It was almost like it was their first time. Lack of communication, poor choices for restaurants or toilet stops. Difficult understanding them. As the trip went on it was the same over and over again and I’m sure there were better value sites to see. Some temples we didn’t make it in to as we were not told of dress standards for that temple. Some days we were in and out of the bus with no idea of what we were doing. How long we would be , if we needed hats or water bottles. Taken to shops we didn’t want to go to and bypassing markets which looked fascinating. The standard of the buses was poor too. Hardly fit our luggage in (damaged mine squeezing it in) no seat belts, hard to get on and out of. There was also at times confusion about how to get where we needed to go between the guide and the driver. Nobody had done any homework or preplanning.
Our two-week holiday in the mountains of North Vietnam was very enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Towering peaks, terraced rice fields cascading down hillsides, and mist drifting through deep valleys created views that felt almost unreal. What made the trip even more special was the warmth of the local people. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with genuine smiles and kindness. Despite language differences, there was a strong sense of hospitality that made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the journey. Our tour guide Hiep was great from start to finish. Knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the region, he shared many interesting stories, traditions and information of each place we visited. The entire tour was well organised, with smooth logistics, well-planned stops, and just the right balance between activity and relaxation. One aspect that didn’t quite meet expectations was the food in the more remote countryside areas. While meals were always fresh and filling, they were often quite bland and lacking in flavour compared to the vibrant and aromatic Vietnamese cuisine we had been looking forward to. Our lunch stops were planned in advance by the guide, which allowed meals to be prearranged and served promptly and efficiently—something we appreciated during busy travel days. However, this did seem to limit variety, and it may be worth exploring alternative dining options for future trips to better showcase the rich flavours Vietnamese cuisine is known for. Overall, this was an incredible trip that we would highly recommend to anyone who loves nature, culture, and adventure. The stunning landscapes, friendly people, and excellent organisation far outweighed the few minor drawbacks, making it a very enjoyable holiday.
We loved visiting Tiger’s Nest Monastery and attending a festival in Paro. We also enjoyed seeing aspects of tea production. particularly when we stopped on the roadside and was able to watch the workers’ tea leaves being weighed, and was able to ask the overseer questions. This was one of several examples where the guides went off script and provided a richer experience. Another example was when we had more time than anticipated enroute from Chalsa to Bagdogra, we visited a wildlife safari. The guides and drivers were always on time, and we never had to worry about being picked up. The guides were all knowledgeable, and shared interesting information. but at times were difficult to understand- sometimes the drivers were easier to understand. On our last day we had very late flights (11.30pm), and nothing was planned for that day. We were fortunate to be able to book a driver for the day, but we did have to pay for this service. We would suggest that when flights are so late (which is not great), people be given the option of choosing another activity/activities, other than waiting at the airport for a prolonged time. We were given a guide on how much to tip guides and drivers, but had no idea of how much to tip porters and other staff, and if this was always expected- this would have been very useful to know. Also, were we expected to pay the same amount when at times we had two guides and drivers on the same day- we spent more money on tipping than anticipated due to this issue. Having a personal guide was great-having a more personalised experience was lovely. Overall, an interesting, enriching, well organised trip.
Cherry blossom.exposure to Japanese food, villages.seeing mt Fuji.attending cooking school,to make ramen. Improvements, add an extra day to reduce daily time in the bus and arrive at hotel earlier. Have hotels closer to more restaurants to remove evening meal at highway roadside food outlets. This also enables better interaction with the tour group.
Great holiday Thankyou. Duc was a great guide and brought us together and had fun together. Cruise was amazing
Cruise down Mekong River was good. Rest of trip was pretty poor, too much "free time", to many market visits, guides were average to below average with little info to pass on, there was no push from guides to do optional tours. When we were taken somewhere, the day didn't start until 10am. Hotels were average, clean and acceptable. Food was quite good, tour buses were clean. People in our group (aged between 50 and 80) organised our own tours, which were the highlight of our trip. Tours our group organised ourselves were, elephant tour, bamboo rafting down rapids, mountain tour, hot air balloon. When crossing border to Laos, guide failed to provide adequate information, some people had to pay for bus transport when it was supposed to be covered by tripadeal. Extra entry fees had to be paid we weren't told about. (Doesn't seem like a big issue until you take into account the language barriers). On tour completion, very disorganised, no transfers to airport organised, some people ended up organising there own, tripadeal organised one couple to be picked up at 6am, the driver didn't show up, another couple had there flight changed to another flight but when confirming flight found out tripadeal hadn't paid for the flight. Overall, a poor trip, which we made good by organising our own tours
Overall, the trip was good, the tour guides were very informative and well speaking English. The great Wall and the Yangtze river was a highlight for me, I would’ve liked to have spent more time at the great Wall as I felt rushed that I had to walk as fast as possible to get back to group The two things that I was not prepared for was the group was too big 31 people and internal travel by train 6 1/2 hours for each section was a little bit unbearable. I would have like to had an option to upgrade and pay for an airline tickets. Also, I think the upgrades for the cruise should’ve been done prior to leaving the country so less stress, Value of money it was good however I wouldn’t recommend this trip to friends as advertise as luxury and I thought internal travel was not luxury.
So out of all the tours I have ever been on I would say personally. This is the worst one because it was not relaxing .it was super rushed but you never had enough time to explore any places like when you go to the great Wall we have two hours to get there, which means you gotta get straight up to the top and straight back down like you have no time to rest on the way up. All of the hotels were so far out of the city like 30 or 40 minutes you wasted half of the time travelling.most days you would only probably go to one place and then you’d have to pay to do more normally with a tour. Everything that you do in the daytime is included maybe not at night and I feel like I feel the tours I paid to do were just absolutely extortionate and a rip off for what you got. Especially I think it was a canal ride which lasted about 15 minutes which was about $40 and the only extra thing got on top of that was 45 minutes to walk around the shops which and take a few photos which wasn’t even enough time. And the very first I think extra tour which was a petty cab which included about five minutes ride and then a dinner at a local’s house and that was ridiculously expensive at nearly $60. Also the other thing that I thought was really disgusting was if you didn’t do the tour the extra paid they would just abandoned you on the side of the road somewhere and you’d have to make your own way back to the hotel. I’ve never known a tour in my life to do that. Wuxi Mingdu Hotel had the hardest bed I’ve slept on in one life was so uncomfortable. I also feel like you need to make the trip two weeks cause it’s just so incredibly rushed and you literally don’t have time to do like anything. For example on the last day they took everyone to a tower and then after the tower you had to pay for a half day Shanghai tour then after that tour you had to pay more money to go on a river cruise it was just ridiculous and extortionate that I didn’t even bother going out and did my own thing. The Shanghai Hotel was so far away from everything in the morning it took me two hours to get the city on the way back. It was nearly an hour like 33 km away from the city is just ridiculous. And that kind of is what makes everyone just do the extra tour because it’s too difficult to get back. I also do not agree with tipping the $12 a day because like some days all you get is picked up from the airport the last day. I didn’t even spend with them alright you tip for good service like not for for the sake of it.
Overall, the trip was very good. The duration, places visited and accommodation (with one exception), was fantastic. The 3 guides were all very experienced, knowledgeable and friendly. The only detraction was the PuLuong Bocbandi Retreat. While it had been communicated it was not a 5 star, it was still extremely disappointing. The rooms were nice, albeit very tired. Room access was very steep and difficult (in fact dangerous). The food was simply terrible and some of the staff were rude and unhelpful. There was also a very serious security breach, whereby someone been through the personal belongings of an older lady travelling by herself. She had $1,000 AUD stolen in the incident and left her quite spooked for the remainder of the trip. We would strongly recommend finding alternate accommodation in the area. If it was not for this, our experience would have been excellent.
We love the journey into the mountains and everything that that entailed such as the gorge, the waterfalls, the caves, the cities and the amazing scenery. Getting used to the traffic and the way of life in Vietnam was made much easier by our guides throughout the journey, they were amazing and always helpful.
The itinerary and activities were good. The driver and assistant excellent. The guide poor, he escorted us from place to place read from the itinerary and provided almost no additional information about the country. He told us for the places we had a free day there was nothing to do and that was his instructions from his company. Not sure if English barrier or something but when asked about what we could do arranging ourselves he still didn't know or wouldn't say even things like turtle Beach which is a key attraction. During our stay a national holiday was on, where no alcohol could be sold, that is something he should have been aware of and told us, rather then our passengers telling him and sharing. He said he doesn't look ip that stuff and his passengers tell him. I did his job for 2 years and overall he failed to share his love for the country and basically anything about the ares we travelled through. He also failed to give due consideration to the wide range of abilities of the group particularly on days with 36 degrees. The other guide who ran inline with ours made alot more effort even helped me out when our guide failed to do so. The other passengers on our bus were fantastic.
Very well organised, great itinerary and guides. Amazon star gazing and Machu Pichu were my highlights. We missed out on doing the Rainbow mountain trek, which was scheduled for the following day after arriving in Cusco, due to altitude sickness. Could this have been scheduled for a day or two later, which would have given us more time to acclimatise?
Bobby (our guide) was excellent, very helpful and friendly. Accommodation was excellent. Less nights in Pu Loung ( too long) Extra nights in either Hanoi or Ninh Binh would have been good
We loved Vietnam, this will be the 4th trip a deal package and as usual they delivered. We loved that we never had to worry about airport transfers or anything. Our guide Bobby went above and beyond always caring and making sure our needs were met, he deserves a pay rise. Just a few observations. The Vibe Singapore, didn't meet all our expectations and we would have liked to have been closer to access shops and restraunts without catching transport. We loved Pu Luong but Ebino was definitely not a 4 or 5 star as expected with an upgrade package. I think all were disappointed as it was going to be the highlight of our trip. Although a beautiful location and friendly staff the facility unfortunatley is run down, which is a shame, it has such potential. We did ask to be moved from our first room and were happy to pay more (some pictures attached ). We did get moved to a more satisfying room. Bobbie was very helpful to all and we experienced the lovely surrounding area. Can I suggest as I did with feedback from other trip a deals trips There needs to be 1 day free time, any free time given is usually after a long bus trip or after an already big day. Myself and others agree a day to relax or to explore yourself and maybe do shopping would be great and a bonus also would mean your not sacrificing something on the itinerary just to have time to do what you want. Keep the good work up and the great prices Kind regards Tracey and Russell Smith
We loved the variety of experiences and felt like we had a wonderful glimpse at some of the best parts of Korea. The price and quality of the food and the friendliness of the people were standouts. We'd love to return and do more. In terms of improvements, we'd like to have spent more time and covered more of Jeju Island. Our flight there was late afternoon and our flight back was early morning, which meant that we only had one day on Jeju and could only cover a small part of the east of the island. It seemed like a lot of travel for what we were able to see. Moving the flight there earlier and the flight back later or keeping the timing of the flights and adding an extra day in Jeju would make all of the travel there and back more worthwhile.
Loved the cost and so pleased that the Chinese Government want us to visit and subsidise many aspects of the tour. It worked - China is amazing! Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, Maglev train, other fast trains, Beijing, Shanghai, Pandas - really ‘the lot’. Tour guides You need to have a sign at the security section of Shanghai Pudong airport in LARGE LETTERS - MAKE SURE YOU COLLECT YOUR MOBILE PHONE! Guess who left theirs behind? Still working on getting it back. Consequently on one picture taken on iPad. Getting the most out of a tour in 10 days is difficult but when the group includes 60 year plus ages it can prove to be somewhat tiring and the tour guides need to be aware of this. Also, again on a fitness level, when asked the guides need to be truthful with regard to the amount of walking involved on a particular optional extra incase this is too much for someone to endure. Not me but a couple of others in the group.
I thought the itinerary was well organised, our tour guides were great and overall the trip was excellent value for money. The highlight for me was walking the Great Wall of China but we had many amazing experiences! The only time I felt uncomfortable was at the Chinese health visit as it was a very high pressured sell! Generally speaking China surprised me in a good way and I would happily return.
This was my first group tour experience, and I did it with my mum. It was truly wonderful and a very special memory for both of us. Our tour guide Harns in Japan was amazing, very kind, helpful, and always accommodating. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Thank you for such a great experience.
I loved the whole trip. It was the Cherry Blossom trip & I saw Cherry Blossoms everywhere. I was very impressed with the accommodation, and super impressed with our guide Hans. He organised everything and with such humour he kept the whole coach in laughter the whole time. I felt very sad when the trip ended. There were many highlights, I would recommend this trip to anyone thinking of going.
I loved that we had 20 only on the tour. The guides in all cities were very good, particularly our first guide that met us in Hanoi We really loved Hanoi, but felt our time here could have been longer instead of a bus ride of around 5 hours to go to Pu Luong ( too long to Pu Luong) which aside from a so so walking tour, offfered very little to do. The staff and entertainment here were good, though. Ninh Binh was a lovely city & we enjoyed our stay in Halong Bay ( again this could have been a day longer if Pu Luong was omitted) Hoi A was a definite highlight, we really loved the beach, the old town & hotel. Ho Chi Minh was very enjoyable and the hotel was very well located. Siem Reap, Cambodia was an extra I’m glad we did and our guide here was also very good. We have already recommended this trip to others. Vietnam airlines were very good to travel with EXCEPT for a rule that anyone over 60 can’t sit in an exit row, although -we were able to book these seats on line at additional cost and were then denied them at the flight gate and given inferior seats until my husband demanded to speak with a supervisor, we agreed to compromise and were placed at the very rear with a vacant seat between my husband and I I will now have to contact the airline to hopefully get a refund
The ultimate Japan trip was well organised and covered a comprehensive range of experiences of Japanese geography, culture, technology, religion and society. The tour guide (Danny) was first class in his knowledge of Japan, explanations of events and schedules and care for the tour group members. The bus was comfortable and the driver most professional. All in all, a memorable trip. Thank you Trip a deal.
I loved the south HCMC and Hoi An The scenery the CuChi Tunnels , Ba Na Hill and the tour guides, they bent over backwards to help us understand the culture the language and all it had to offer. I like the boat Halong Bay, in the north the city walk and the train in Hà No , but had trouble understanding the tour guided he spoke fast and I felt he wasn’t overly interested in explaining why he like HaNoi
Entire trip was exceptional. Trip. A Deal did an amazing job (this was our first (TAD) trip. The guides were great with the exception of the one in Chongqing, he left us at the train station without any directions as to the check in process. Fortunately there was another TAD group and their guide assisted us. The itinerary was FABULOUS! Can’t wait for our next TAD trip to South Africa at the end of August! Our favourite was the Chinese Burger and Guilin.
The cherry blossoms were magnificent. We were in all of the major cities at the optimal viewing times, so an absolutely fabulous time for visiting. Our guide Hans had a sensational sense of humour and had the bus in fits of laughter. Thank you Hans. The Japanese language and culture has never been simpler. Thank you also to our wonderful driver, who was always smiling and did a great job in getting us around, brake problem and all. But I have only given 4 stars as there is room for improvement. We arrived very early in the morning on the first day and could not access our rooms until the afternoon. This is not what you want after flying from Australia. Some people paid for an early check in and that should have been made known to the whole group, or a special arrangement made with the hotel for an earlier access. Kyoto for me was the highlight, as it was for some other guests. I would suggest that the optional tour in Kyoto be included in the itinerery as everyone did this option. The alternative was the quite confronting option of just being somewhere in Kyoto for several hours. The last hotel in Tokyo was a real disappointment. It did not have a restaurant and we were given a small-value voucher for breakfast at one of three places to eat. For people who cannot eat gluten getting a voucher for a coffee / pastry shop is pretty useless. In fact I just gave mine away and went to the local Lawson and got an egg and fruit.
In Cambodia’s the s26 museum should be added to the optional tour and be done before the killing fields
Cambodia was a high light, as there were many interesting places to see enjoyed the cruise on the Mekong, staff and guides made it excellent. The ship at Halong bay had seem better days and many of the staff didn't speak English which was difficult as they couldn't tell me what was gluten free in the menu . Poor hotel in Hanoi beds very hard and no dinner facilities. Travelling at night on the plane to and from Australia was awful
We had a great time, tour guides, accommodation, drivers were all fantastic. I would probably have liked to spend 2 nights on the cruise on Halong Bay and less time in Nimh Binh. I would have also liked more nights in Hoi An or Danang.
The recent tour exceeded my wildest expectations. Everything, from my arrival to my departure from Vietnam, was superbly organised and orchestrated. This allowed the tour members to relax and enjoy the experience and resulted in us forming a closeknit group. We had fun. Our guides were very knowledgeable with great communication skills. Our main guide was Diep and he was especially good and had all the attributes of an excellent guide. He went above and beyond to make sure our experiences met or exceeded our expectations. Diep made sure the needs of those in the group who had different dietary requirements, or who were a little physically challenged, were met. He was knowledgeable, compassionate and great fun. He is an asset to TripADeal.
Loved the first part of the journey that being Beijing [The Great Wall] Tiananmen Square & Forbidden City The optional Tours were also great. The Bullet train was awesome The Terracotta Warriors & Horses awesome I think more time in Shanghai should have been added instead of some places like the romantic garden and others we could have bypassed but overall it was an amazing tour Thank You
Loved the accommodation, staff and the animals wandering through the Lodge. Didn’t like the travel between the other private lodges to find the Big 5 - just too much time on the road. Would like to have had a heads up re the fact that there is no laundry facility for guests. Hand washing has to suffice. Loved the small group travelling - lucky enough to have had a wonderful time with great people
The highlight was our amazing guide Ben who made this adventure for us older aussies easy to navigate
Sebatana resort staff were excellent - the tours offered were fabulous. The units are somewhat dated but comfortable. The program was well spaced - with enough free time. The Cape Town extension was fantastic. Cape Milner Hotel was fabulous, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The trips were excellent. Singapore Airlines was OK - delayed return from caused rerouting via Perth which also meant I could not pick up my Duty Free ar Brisbane International airport At Johannesburg, the Radisson shuttle did not show up, we waited 90 minutes and after a couple of phone calls they finally showed up.
Japan was amazing but 39 people on a tour was too many people for the tour guide to make it personal for everyone. There were too many changes of hotels and too much bus travel. If feel the itinerary could be changed so there are more nights in the same hotel. We saw a lot ….. but not enough time in some places to enjoy it. Too many shopping days. Also when we did the cruise our group was separated, WHY ??? One group left early and they had a suite with toilet shower and beds. The other group only had bed and toilet. Very poor Tripadeal we all paid the same amount not fair 😡 Also one of the accommodation the bus couldn’t park out the front of the hotel so we had to walk dragging our bags on the rough ground fro 15 minutes. Sorry but NO MORE Tripadeal for me!!!! Don’t be fooled it seems good priced at the start but add in all the EXTRA costs and other companies can do better. Sorry Tripadeal 👎
Overall the tour was good value for money but our tour guide was not up to standard that i would have expected. We were left to our own devices on several occasions and not informed on things to see on our free time. For us Langkawi was the highlight of our tour and [with no tour guide] seen and did more in four days than the rest of the trip.
Holiday was just so organised although the days were long & we missed a few meals the places we seen were awesome. Your guides were fantastic & very informative, hotels were great the only drawback was the smoke smell in the rooms was very strong surely TAD could ask them to have smoking floors as that was the biggest ***** from all people. It was my first TAD & wasn’t disappointed. Would have liked to see the Olympic Games venues whilst in Beijing would have been something modern against all the ancient history we seen. Good trip.
Absolutely incredible holiday from start to finish. What truly made this trip unforgettable were our outstanding tour guides. Their support, knowledge, and genuine care made everything feel effortless. No request was ever too much, and they were always there to help with anything we needed, going above and beyond at every opportunity. A special thank you to King, Richard, and JoJo — your service was truly exceptional (100/10!). You made the entire experience seamless, enjoyable, and so memorable. We couldn’t have asked for better guides.
Very well planned out and hosted by Johnny and the driver Tuon, very entertained and well informed of the culture of their beautiful country. I was put in the best group, I was the youngest at 31, most were retired and they were just great people, everyone mingled and contributed to the banter. We experienced so much and can't speak highly enough of Johnny and Tuon. Hung the guide from the other group was awesome to and helped contribute to our group, honestly felt so moved and humbled with my trip to Vietnam and will definitely be using and recommending trip a deal to every one I share my holiday with. Vietnam i will be returning 🤗
Overall it was a great experience. Very fast paced. I did feel that there was a constant need to put my had in my pocket. There were four major train journeys, each averaging 6 hours, so multiple days lost to transport. I’m not sure why the itinerary didn’t follow more of a flow rather than a zigzag all over the country. Each hotel was more than satisfactory, very happy with the locations and level of stay.
Excellent tour and excellent & very careful driver., however, some areas for improvement / suggestions: - Nice tour leader but his english was at times, very difficult to understand. - we all arrived in Colombo on different very late evening or past midnight flights and were expected to be ready for an early start the next morning. An extra day at the very nice hotel which had a pool and beach would have been good. - 3 nights in Jaffna is far too long. We had a 'free day' but it was a public holiday so most sites were closed, the hotel had no pool nor beach and the roof bar was closed. Suggest add the extra night in Kandy or similar more interesting place. - Pidgeon Island & the resort were very disappointing & the hotel was a long drive away from Trincomalee so not easily accessible to explore - The train ride was picturesque but no more than all the wonderful country side we saw from our bus. - Tour of Colombo was very interesting and so much to see and explore so an extra day there would allow for extra exploration.
Loved Shanghai - would be good to have an extra day there. The Yangtze River cruise was our highlight - we loved it. More free time with less optional tours would suit our style of travel. Also found that the whole itenarary was a bit rushed - got to hotels very late on most occasions. Air conditioning in most hotel rooms didn't work properly.
Eddie our tour guide was absolutely fantastic & Hero our driver was amazing. What was extremely disappointing was:- 1. the locations of the hotel. In the middle of nowhere. 2. What was extremely annoying was our hotel in Tokyo was changed at the last minute from Far East Village ASAKUSA to ARIAKE and NO ONE bothered to inform us. A lot of us had organized experiences while in Tokyo situated near the original hotel. At our own expenses we had to catch taxis to be able to proceed with these bookings. 3. The itinerary needs to be adjusted. Long days travelling in a bus and not getting to spend much time at the sites.
we loved our Borneo holiday. The trip was well planned and the guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Clay was wonderful. The only negative on our trip was getting food poisioning ( a vomiting and gastro episode) on our second day at the Hilton. Around 18 of us ended up sick. We were both too unwell to go on the cultural activity day or the evening meal. We couldn't even enjoy the buffet breakfasts. Two of our party ended up in hospital were they told them after running tests that it was food poisioning.
All the local people who escorted us on our Trip a Deal tour were wonderful 😃Very friendly & helpful & full of good information. We have wanted to go to both Vietnam & Cambodia for many years . Even though both their history is very sad we enjoyed visiting the different areas in the tour 😔
At the cost of this particular tour we feel direct fights should have been utilised due to the short length of time of this tour. 1st night accommodation & Breakfast was good , the rest of the accommodation & breakfast was disappointing & below para. Loved Osaka. Loved Kyoto , not there long enough & again more suited to the optional tour than the main tour.( unfortunately didn’t have an overnight stay In Kyoto ) should be added to the itinerary as an overnight stay instead of Seki which was the worse place ever, in the middle of nowhere ,not only for 1 night ( which was our wedding anniversary & couldn’t go out for a quality dinner )but for 2 terrible nights which included a free day. Feel this was chosen deliberately to suit the Optional tour. What a waste of our valuable time. Loved Tokyo , perfect timing for the Cherry blossoms which was the highlight. Unfortunately the accommodation was again below para & not conveniently positioned. Overall could not fault the tour guide or driver. This was our introduction to an organised tour & the feedback from other tour member who had a lot more tour experiences then we have , supported our own disappointment as outlined above. Overall did not feel we received value for our hard earned dollars. In the end it was a mixed bag of expectations, emotions & experiences.
mEKONG RIVER CRUISE WAS Great . Transfer from Thailand border to Laos border was poorly organized . We paid for a fee for Tourist Entry at the border and when we crossed the border we were told the fee had already been paid . POOR COMMUNICATION !!!
Really impressed by Mount Fuji and the city of Tokyo. All in all it was a great trip and the Japanese people were very friendly. Our guide Eddy did a great job and told us much of the history of his country. The only complaint would be that some of the travelling was more than we expected, but understand that you were trying to fit in as much as possible. Thank you for a great experience.
The tour guide, Danny Dai was the best tour guide I've ever had. He made this the best trip ever. His organisation skills and knowledge throughout the tour were 1st class. The tour itinerary including optional tours was exceptional. Also, Hatakyama, our bus operator was a very professional driver and much loved by the tour. We had great inner city accommodation.
Every day was special - seeing so many different, wonderful, beautiful places, experiencing the wonderful food presentation & care that goes into the preparation (can't say I enjoyed all the different tastes/texture or flavours, but tried it most of it); enjoying the hospitality & friendliness & so much more . . . . . . .
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience; the sights, sounds, smells and sensory overload was amazing. My wish was to walk down an avenue of cherry blossoms - raining the petals all over me, and while that didn’t quite happen , we did see cherry blossoms in the least week of the tour. The Shinbuya crossing was memorable , in that within the next 5 years or so, you will be unable to do it- exciting to be in the ‘crush’. The itinerary was well planned, although there could have been a few extra days for ‘ free time ‘ added , given that on some occasions , we literally arrived at the hotel in time to rush out to have dinner, then back to the hotel to shower and get ready for the next day - left no time for familiarising / exploring the local area. I was however, as a Nurse extremely disappointed that etiquette from fellow travellers was far below expected and acceptable behaviour, regarding personal hygiene and good manners . There were at least 3-4 people on the bus from day 1 , who were coughing and sneezing without using basic hygiene measures- wearing masks , utilising disposable tissues and disposing of them in a safe manner, and no use of hand sanitizer. This complete lack of consideration led to approximately 60%-70% of the bus becoming infected- including the bus driver and our tour guide ( Danny) on the last 2 days of the trip. All 3 other members of my family were affected . I would like ‘Trip a Deal’ to enforce mandatory mask wearing and hand hygiene measures on the bus at all times , to avoid this occurring again - missing some excursions due to illness was a negative experience . Given that COVID, influenza A/B is rampant, we should all be vigilant in protecting ourselves and others . Masks are freely available to purchase everywhere we went , so there is no excuse for bad manners . I also object to ‘ moving seats’ on the bus every day - so long as one has a seat, does it really matter where you sit ? Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable holiday - sites chosen to explore were great, and gave an overview of Japanese culture and customs. I would go back again in a heartbeat . Some of the accomodation was lacking in the bedding department - pillows and mattresses alike like sleeping on a block of concrete - not good for those with back/ neck issues
Yes Ha Long Bay our cabin was not clean & water was leaking from up above onto the hand basin. Our toilet had water all over the floor. Apart from this we loved our holiday.
I think my High lights of Sri Lanka was one of the best holidays I've had. Our Guide Arch was extremely good. Knowledgeable, easy to get along with. Happy to help everyone. Looked after us like a Mother hen. The places he took us were very good. We had a hotel room which was full of mosquitos. The hotel changed rooms for us. Another hotel had an ant issue, everyone in our block had the same trail of ants. It was only for one night. I would suggest the Sheraton at turtle beach be a 2 day stop as it was a few metres away from the turtle rescue station. Many of our crew would have happily paid for a night helping release baby turtles. The only other suggestion was that hotels we stay in have rooftop bars. The Jetwing in Jaffna was perfect. Gave us. Chance to relax and bond as a group Arch commented that our group was one of his best. Always on time and eXy to get along with.
What a glorious country to visit. What made it even better was our tour guide Yusuke, his knowledge, caring manner, recommendations, passion, organisation and willingness to help everyone was more than any of us could ask for. This was more visible when we saw other tour guides who could not live up to how he was.
Absolutely enjoyed every minute. Our tour guides were great with a special mention to. " Nina" who was our first one. She made us feel welcome and organised the whole group so that we felt at ease. We loved the food, the culture, the history. Everything. Would definately recommend trip a deal.
Less travel and more greet and meet citizens do away with canoe trips less time in the mountains more time to view items for sale and how they are made the tunnels were excellent as was the river trip I bought something at each place and was pleased with my gifts to my great grandchildren
The holiday was great, Sri Lanka for 8 days was a nice introduction to what Sri Lanka has to offer. We had a very experienced Tour Guide and a fantastic group of people on the tour. Maldives was just devine.
Was a fantastic trip. Well organised with great guides. Accommodation was very comfortable. . Couple of long days in the bus but the scenery awesome.
This is my third trip a deal holiday and the three guides we had were amazing. Everything is so well organised. Nothing is too much trouble. Unfortunately we had one Person who seemed to upset everyone on the bus as well as all the guides, but I guess there's always one. They did well to deal with her. Looking forward to my next trip in October hopefully due to current circumstances thank you
Tours and Guides fantastic.
Too many highlights to mention! Enjoyed the sights, culture, history and people of Japan during this Grand Tour. Lucky enough to see Mount Fuji on a clear day and enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The itinerary was full but there were several ‘free and easy’ days if you didn’t want to take the optional tours. Hotel choices were mixed, with some spacious but others were more ‘squeezy’! All were comfortable and clean, but it would be good if all the rooms had adjustable air con - some were centrally controlled (and hot) and others not effective in cooling warm rooms. Both our tour guide and driver were great; nothing was too much trouble and our guide Kenta went above and beyond every day to show us the best locations, restaurants, and shops. As a suggestion, it would be great if the group could be supplied with headsets during walking tours as much of what the guide pointed out was only audible to those closest to him - though he was happy to repeat it. Finally, our coach was comfortable with only 35 on board for this tour, but most of the USB charging points were inoperable; this presented a challenge for those without battery packs. Apart from these opportunities for improvement, we highly recommend this tour of Japan as great value for money; we will definitely return.
We enjoyed the added excursions especially Shirakawa go and Takayama. The highlight of our trip would have to be the boat trip where we were able to clearly see Mt.Fuji was stunning. There is room for improvement when boarding and disembarking the bus. Many areas required a long walk with cases. At one stop the bus driver was photographed in a regular bus zone, was flustered and our luggage was put into the flowing gutters, it was raining. Given there were some elderly passengers I feel Trip a Deal should negotiate with neighboring businesses to allow for a ten minute bus stop.
Exceptional value, a special mention to our 3 guides, Nina, Maria and Jack. All provided in-depth details around their specific locations. Our last guide Jack went above and beyond on a number of occasions at all times. This was much appreciated by all. There was only one negative, one of the motels we stayed in, the Snowy Sea Hotel was very smoky, for a non smokers it was not pleasant. The corridors and rooms all smelt of smoke. It was overwhelming. Air conditioning in the rooms did not work to cool the room down, it just seemed to circulate the smell of cigarette smoke, we had to get portable fans to provide cooling. Other than this one negative the trip was excellent and highly recommended.
Absolutely loved every second of this amazing holiday. Tour guides were fabulous and trio flowed seamlessly !! Can’t rate this trip high enough!!
Tour guide Thanh and the driver on the first (core) part of the tour based around travel to and from Hanoi were excellent and provided extra insights and activities beyond that in the published itinerary. The accommodation whilst of a reasonable standard could do with a review as some hotels were a bit tired and in need of an update - we selected the upgraded level of accommodation and more modern hotels would better meet expectations for this selection. Tour guide Annie in Hoi An was also very good and provided support in undertaking additional activities and tips for shopping and travel around town.
We loved the 5 star African Safari and Cape Town add on. All flights, airport transfers went very smoothly and the accommodation selections were of high quality. The tours and activities were all excellent with great experienced tour guides. We were so lucky as saw heaps of animals including 4 of the big 5 - very exciting. The food was delicious and very interesting as it included local delicacies.
Loved everything about the trip..the people we traveled with, the guides were excellent, the hotel rooms were amazing, however there was too many train trips which were exhausting. I wasn’t impressed with Eastern air, the planes were cramped and the food was awful, but the staff were beautiful
We had enjoyed warrior trip and had a great time . The optional trip to Shaolin Kungfu has been our highlight . The walking trail up to Songsan was not difficult and very rewarding with the amazing rippled mountains view ❤️ Great tour guides and special mention to Alice who guide us from Hangzhou to Shanghai. Alice is amazing, very professional and caring 👍
Accommodation was really good, all clean and great facilities. Inclusions, activities and itinerary was great. The tour leader and support crew (bus driver & assistant) were professional and outstanding in all areas.
This was our first TripADeal holiday and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tour and especially the accommodation If we had a complaint it would be associated with the river cruise boat. In particular the food. We paid for upgraded cabin and food with the cabin being excellent but the food could not be considered an upgrade It was Chinese buffet, morning, lunch and dinner with many of our fellow travellers equally disappointed If I had another suggestion I would say that an extra day or two in the itinerary would be great for older people (majority) as the pace was somewhat gruelling and everyone has gone home very tired
Our 3rd trip. Guide exvellent. Smoorh running
The guide and bus driver we had were excellent. The guide was extremely understanding and informative. Some venues were of extreme interest and we could have spent longer there. The museum at Hiroshima is one venue deserving of longer time. Some other venues were of little interest to us but we’re well received by others. Eh the fish markets. Accommodation was of varying quality but generally satisfactory although cramped. Most hotels did not have a bar which made socialising with the whole group impossible. We enjoyed our experience on the whole.
Absolutely amazing trip. We had so much fun. Excellent knowledgeable guides. It's thd 1st time travelling 5 star. We were looked after so well. We definitely want to visit Vietnam and Cambodia again Thankyou for an amazing experience. This is our 3rd Tripadeal and we will definitely be doing more.
Tour guide (Kenta) was excellent, went well above and beyond to offer his knowledge and help with challenges such as finding food for dietary requirements. Amano the driver was great too and navigated some challenges areas and bus parking. All sites visited were good. Hotels were of acceptable quality but some were small, with single beds for couples and not much room for luggage, while others were larger with king size beds. The bus microphone cut out at times. More communication required for amount of walking involved. We were fine with it but there were others, more elderly, who were surprised with the amount of walking on some of the activities such as the maiko dinner.
The entire trip was well planned and executed and all the local guide in each city was very well knowledge and helpful. The highlights of my trip would be the visit to the terracotta army museum and the great wall. Would be good if the meals included in the Xi'an and Beijing optional tours could be more of local dishes rather than cater to suit western palette. In this case the traveller would have a chance to sample authentic local flavour.
Our guide ( Danny) and driver were excellent. The itinerary was excellent with lots of interesting places. The optional tours were very good. Suggestions - some of the hotels were a bit of a challenge as in a few there was only 1 lift which was very frustrating at the end of a long day to have to queue up for a period of time before getting to rooms. One hotel the breakfast was not satisfactory - it was a self serve cold sandwich and drink. That is not acceptable. A number of guests felt that 4 hours in Osaka food street ( Dotombori) and shopping area was far too long. 3 hours would have been more than sufficient to have lunch and do some shopping. I did discuss this with the tour guide.
Great Packed holiday
We have just returned from this trip and we had a wonderful time. Our guide, Kentaro was passionate and was always happy to help out. We loved the locations of our motels as most were within walking distance to sights, food places or local transport. Some rooms were small. but that was to be expected. In fact, most of our rooms were larger than I thought they would have been. This trip gave us plenty of opportunities to take optional tours or do our own thing, which suits our style of travel. We had some iconic experiences that were either optional or ones we organised ourselves including dinner with a geisha, attending a sumo wrestling show, riding the bullet train, seeing castles, temples and shrines, checking out the markets and the list goes on. We saw the traditional and the modern. There were plenty of opportunities to find food at the bus stops on the day trips, although I felt we could have skipped the bus stop and spent more time in the next town and had lunch there. Kentaro would also recommend where to eat and what local foods to try. Kentaro was a great guide, as he helped us explore with confidence, teaching us some useful words and phrases, explaining what the different types of food were, giving us a lesson in using chopsticks, informing us of customs associated with accessing the public baths, and so on. All in all, I would recommend this trip to anyone wishing to visit Japan.
The country, the culture and people in Japan are interesting and this tour was a variation on visits I've made to Japan before. A large group is by necessity more structured than a small group to manage, however we might have allocated more time to the larger venues for example Nikko Toshogo Shrine, Matsumoto area and the Hakodate area. Some stops for example Nara-Kyoto and Kumamoto Castle were too rushed and needed more time. More detailed information about locations and in a couple of places an area map (eg in Otaru) would have improved the experience. Highlights - food, culture, people, scenery. Maiko dinner booked with the tour, other experiences booked independently outside the tour were highlights. Our tour leader did an effective job, but appeared to struggle with the group sense of humour and how he related to the group. The bus driver was excellent and it was noticed how often the tour leader related to him for information on locations. For planning prior to the tour, I was pleased I did not plan too much detail as it was not possible to judge (other than the Free Days) how much time was going to be available at venues.
Reasonably relaxed pace plenty of free time. Transfer bus went without us to OR Tambo.
We thought the trip was well organised, maybe a lay day would help to recharge your batteries. The tour guide Mr King was fabulous along with Mr Bruce, they both knew our needs and made sure everyone kept up as a group when walking. One big down side was queuing up for the Tiananmen square for 2 1/2 hrs. All of us complained of leg and back ache which for some of us continued for several days.. We should have been asked to introduce ourselves to the group, we ended the tour not knowing some peoples names. Bus seats rotation was also lacking. Food was very good with most meals being enjoyed by everyone.
The tour was unforgettable. The cherry blossoms 🌸 were absolutely magical. Everything was very well organised. Big buses were very comfortable, with free WiFi and charges. Our tour guide, Grace was absolute delight, she told us a lot about Japanese history and culture as well as everyday life. She was very attentive and helpful, even stayed an extra time in a lobby of the hotel in case we need help. She vertically held our hands every step of the way, which made it so much easier. Would be happy to recommend the tour 👍
Great variety of locations, showcasing history, temples and shrines, architecture and fun. Yuka is a great tour leader and the drivers were excellent. They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic holiday. Thanks particularly to Yuka.
