The good xian / beijing /shanghai/guilin + cruise all great locations tour guides were all excellent in particular Angel and Merrick - knowledgable and very experienced at managing guests the bad suzhou was a blur - arrived near hotel near 10pm left early next morning a little too much with all the "optional tours" - better to package them up into initial pricing as we were almost compelled to take the tours anyways the ugly!!! ridiculously early fight departure times meaning we had to rise at 4.00 am twice was not ideal up at 4.00 am to fly to shanghai at 7.00 am to then hop on a bus for a Whole day ( not half day) tour and then to airport for 8.30pm departure was ordinary - surely you can do better than that improvements suggest you could add chongqing to the itinerary - place looks amazing perhaps a little more downtime in shanghai
Excellent tour guide who gave extra optional activities Excellent bus driver who drove safely and was very helpful for carsickness
Day 1 of our flight was a huge day, it was super long and late. We were awake for about 24hrs. Arriving at our hotel and in bed at 2am (china time) then followed up by another big was very tiring. I think the excitement of being in china kept us going. Forest, what an absolute pressure! He told us the dos and donts of china, he was always there if we needed help, answered every single question and told us so much histroy. When we had no cash and the ATMs didnt work for us, he was so calm about it an ensured us, that it's ok. He organised a cab for us to go to ICBC atm 2kms from the hotel. (It worked) Bruce (not Lee) again, what an absolute pressure. The Dad Jokes were the best, every single one made us laugh. He was always there when we needed him, answered every question we asked, told us so much histroy of china and role played at the terracotta Warriors. We really liked Bruce, he is very passionate about his job and wants to make sure that he is doing a good job. I believe is has a very gentle, caring soul and I really appreciate people who are like that. When we asked him if we could take a selfie with him, he was very excited! Peter, I felt a bit sorry for him. He got the back end of the tour, after we saw the great wall and the terracotta Warriors which were amazing and having Forest and Bruce already explain so much of china. He got long travel days and going to factory's for a extremely long time for us the buy there products. There were a few times where some people in our group needed help at dinner time or lunch times or information about the hotel and he didnt help to the best of his ability, it came across that he didnt "care" In future it would be good if there was less time " shopping" and more time exploring. There was so many times throughout the whole trip where another hour or 2 exploring would have been so much better then listen to someone tell me " if you buy 3 you get the 4th for free" or " 20% discount" or " you get free Suitcase for all your free item or get free shipping back to Aus" ! We got alone with every single person in our group and I really hope that we are able to organise another trip a deal together. Everyone was on time and respect was given to each person especially when we didnt have cash, we had 3 families tell us they would pay for us and we pay them back after the trip is complete. But, we just couldnt remember each other's name especially after a full day of travel and lack of sleep on the 1st night. Can I suggest that people wear name tags for at least a day or 2, obviously it can be an optional. Also questions about the tipping, we were happy to pay but then we were told that it goes to TripADeal? Does the tipping go back to the tour guides and bus drivers? Also if a member of the group dosent pay for tipping does the tour guide pay for it? You may not answer My questions but I really hope that they dont have to pay the tipping if someone dosent pay and I hope the tipping goes back evenly to the 3 tour guides and bus drivers! Overall the trip was fantastic and we met some truly amazing people and hopefully we can stay in contact 😊 Thank you Trip A Deal
Everything was amazing. From the airport collection, the beautiful necklace we received, meeting our wonderful guide Clay, it was just perfect. Clay was super knowledgeable, funny, English was perfect, and told us everything we needed when we needed it. Not to much too soon. We saw so many amazing animals, the boat rides, bus trips were all fantastic. We chose to do the added extra to the rural community which was one of the highlights. It's a real shame that more people didn't go. I think that if it was better advertised maybe more people would go. Or even if that was a little cheaper it may be better and more people would take up the option which would ultimately be great for the community.
Loved the Great Wall and Teracotta Warriors, too much time at forbidden city. Way too much time wasted in shops, very hard sell and ridiculous claims of items they are selling. Not enough time allocated in old towns and free time to wander on your own. Our first guide, Adam, seemed to think he had to talk for the entire time, his stand up “comedy” routine ran for over 1/2 an hour on the bus when all we wanted was some quiet time. Dinner at the hotel was stone cold as we arrived back late, no other food was offered. Our last guide, Harry, was a delight. Overall, too much time wasted getting on and off the bus at tourist trap shops and not enough time in traditional streets. Southern China airlines does not let you pre choose your seats. You will be allocated the worst seats, sitting apart from your travelling companion, then told if you want to sit next to them, you can pay to change, even though there were plenty of empty seats. People who paid for extra legroom seats did not get them. Scam.
Loved Halong bay needed more time at the beach there, only one hr free time no where near enough for Aussie s who love to swim. Get the Reed Hotel to put non slip strips around the pool. I slipped and hurt myself
Our tour guide Mimi and bus driver Mr Hong were very good. Didn't need to go to the amethyst factory after coming back on the train from Busan, would've preferred going to a museum. Also should have had an activity on the morning of the day of departure. Absolute highlight was the DMZ trip.
We didn't know what to expect. From the moment we got off the plane to our hotel we were blown away. Our only gripe was we were not on a direct flight. All the accomodation was fantastic. Our tour guide :V: went above and beyond. He was happy, funny and very informative. Also the bus driver was a great driver and very polite. Can't speak highly enough of them. We celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary while on trip. This is definately one anniversary we will not forget . Thanks to V., our tour guide. Will recommend to our friends. Can't wait to do another Trip A Deal. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Our Shanghai tour guide, Faye, demonstrated exceptional expertise regarding China, coupled with a delightful sense of humor and a consistently friendly, helpful, and professional approach. The highlights of the tour encompassed visits to the Great Wall of China, including an opportunity to ascend it, the Terracotta Warriors Museum, the Forbidden City, and an evening cruise on the Grand Canal River was a sight to be seen. While flight scheduling could benefit from optimization, the overall experience was highly commendable.
Generally a wonderful trip, however our second guide was less than adequate with poor English and an inability to organise our large group. Poor commentary and organisational skills resulted in people getting lost, time wasting which resulted in late meals on a number of occasions. A number of people therefore cut back the gratuities. Gratuities are always a topic of conversation. Most people dislike the fact that guides have to “ beg “ for money at the completion of their time and that the employer should adequately pay the staff and not rely on the generosity of the customer. This policy is leading to more and more criticism of TripADeal and needs addressing. Our previous holiday to Vietnam was also controversial our trip was altered and there was poor communication as to what changes were being made and there should have been some financial adjustment made. Some people received some credit others, like us didn’t. Not satisfactory! We have enjoyed a number of holidays with TripADeal and despite a few issues this is our first notification of a complaint. We will continue to promote to our friends travels with TripADeal and we will no doubt continue to enjoy your vacations. We urge you to take our constructive criticism seriously- Peter & Heather Birtchnell
Zhangjiajie(ZJJ), River cruise in Chong qing, Huang long Cave and Panda watching are one of my favorites organized by TripaDeal. Just thought we should have the flights details and Hotel details and Meals provided information earlier. Highlights in ZJJ - The suggested places from TripADeal is good and transportation they arranged and timing are very organized, except the time to see every place is just rush, rush, rush....probably 1day more days in ZJJ should be proposed instead of 3 days. Improvement in ZJJ - In ZJJ, I think more time in the mountain like Tian Men Mountain should be given. Just taking elevator up and down already took more than 1 hr 10mins. And we were given only 2 hours. Hence I find abit too rush and the dinner time is even longer than our time spent in Tianmen before back again (same place) to watch the Fairy Fox show. I think more background of the scenic area will be beneficial. Highlights in Chong Qing - The proposed itinerary were quite ok and river cruise to watch the CQ night lights were really fascinating. Improvements in CQ - More history background should be provided while bringing us on the tour trip but I realized lots of things were said in the bus when everyone is quite tired and might forget what was said before in the bus. Highlights in Chengdu Not much was arranged the last two days lots of free time and mainly shopping except to see the panda. Improvements in Chengdu - Probably should add one or two places instead to leave it open especially the 2nd day in Chengdu when we arrive around 3pm in Hotel i think at least one attraction place in city should be arranged as i realized the hotel was 30 to 35 mins away from the city. Tour guide left abruptly after bringing us to Tianfu international airport, without realizing she has left us. I thought at least a proper goodbye to the group instead just leave suddenly away. Flights - Flights from Melbourne to Xiamen to Changsha were good. except arriving very late in Changsha and we lost a day travelling. Will be good to find a flight leaving in the night and arrive mid day or early afternoon in Changsha to see the city on our own. Flights return from Chengdu, Tian Fu international, we waited 6 hours in the airport to leave for changsha and only to find we have less than 1hr to rush for our connecting flights from Xiamen to Melbourne. Luckily the local staffs in Xiamen airport were so efficient in their service and literally running with us to bring us to the get our boarding pass as we dont even have one from Xiamen to Mel. Overall, the trip is good and i enjoyed meeting the other travel companions mate met in the group. We had a wonderful time as well together during our free time venturing out to find local food :). Lastly, I find the tipping is abit weird as in the itinerary, there were a total of 2 days tipping in ZJJ but we were told to give 4 days tipping and though I find day 3 to give tipping is fine as i joined the optional tour. So three days tipping should make sense however we were told 4 days tipping.
We had a fantastic time on this tour. While it was a busy tour with long days and sometimes long stretches on the bus there is no way we could have seen so much if we were travelling by ourselves. I really liked that on the days where we were given free time we were also offered optional tours that were not listed in the original itinerary - these proved to be a great option and often included activities that we had hoped to participate in anyway. Three nights in Tokyo was excellent allowed us to enjoy the local foods and sights and the two nights in Osaka were also excellent and the hotel was in a great location. My suggestion would be to have accommodation on the last night in Tokyo rather than Narita as it would reduce the travel time from Hamamatsu (which was a really long day) and give the option to explore Tokyo food one more time rather than only having restricted options for dinner in Narita. Our guide (Evita) and bus driver were both amazing and we had a lot of fun. My only suggestion would be that as we are driving around we are given more information about what we are driving past as often we had to yell out to ask what we were looking at. The tour was a perfect length of time to get a good taste of Japan and to visit the major tourist attractions in each of the towns we visited.
Overall good trip. Flight connections were poor could br improved.
This was our first trip a deal holiday and boy did we enjoy it, the booking process was very easy and simple , the communication was excellent, we were kept well informed from off , flights were all on time and simple , ALL our hotel rooms/stays were excellent with unbelievable breakfast included, all of the tour guides were fantastic, very knowledgeable and spoke good English, transfers between hotels and tours were on comfortable buses with good air conditioning all included extra bottled water , we also pre booked several extra tours for our free days , they were all well worth doing , all the extra activities usually include meals which were all in very nice restaurants, overall we found our first Trip a deal holiday excellent value and enjoyed every single day , we look forward to booking our next one 😀
The Great Wall of China along with the Terracota Warriors were a big highlght but the trip was just brilliant form start to finish! All guides were amazing but Selena was exceptional!
We loved Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, The Imperial Gardens, the Summer Palace, the rickshaw ride, the Great Wall, the Terracotta Warriors, Xian, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai - there was so much to see and do and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. Our guides at each of the three cities - Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai were excellent and very informative about how beautiful China was and how well they do everything. We could see this for ourselves - the cities were very clean, we felt very safe at all times and we absolutely had the best time.
Our experience was great right from start with finding transfer person easily and shuttle to hotel smooth. Our tour guide Joey ( Hiromi) was at the hotel to great us even though it was late evening. Her communication , guidance and natural sense of humour was a 10/10. As these are budget priced holidays we couldn’t fault the value for money and all accom was clean and adequate for our needs. A mix of 3. & 4 star. Well situated close to city centre or along train line so easy access to places on our free days or free time. Japan is a beautiful country as are the people and their recycle approach is commendable. We took our rubbish back with us to bins at the hotel. Many highlights on our Japan Discovery tour and one place we Loved was Narai-Juku. A quaint Edo village built along the old walking roads through the hills. I would have liked longer there. Hiroshima is a must see place for anyone visiting Japan. Humbling! My advise to others is read the itineraries of the various tours to pick what suits you best. Our tour group scored the best guide Joey! She was awesome and our driver Kawasaki- San kept us safe with his impeccable driving skills. Thankyou Joey, Trip A Deal lucky to have such a beautiful person. Trip A Deal Au. Great to deal with and helpful if you need to contact them. No real negatives. Just get used to 1 ply toilet paper .😁 Our Cathay Pacific flight home via Hong Kong exhausting as we had to sit in plane for well over an hour at Gate before taking off. Due overloaded plane (cargo) . After 1.30 in the morning before take off. Airline issue beyond Tripa deals fault but thought I’d tell you. Thanks guys. Great holiday!
Loved seeing the Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors and all the sites. Had a fabulous group of people on the tour with us, even met others in other tour groups. Guides were very good and helpful. The people in China are very nice and always helpful. The only improvement I can think of was the location of the accommodation in Beijing was a little far out of the way so did not have the chance to walk round and enjoy the city.
The tour overall was excellent we had a few complaints which were mimicked by most on the tour, 2 of the guides in 'King' who was excellent and 'James' who was great, both very knowledgeable and communicated extremely well and confidently. The guide we had for Xian 'John' seemed fairly nervous and a bit inexperienced. The 2 biggest complaints are the way the plane/train tickets are booked and the fact that I was always seperated from my wife, We had to continually ask random people if they would swap seats with us - this is not ok. Tripadeal blames the airline and the airline blames tripadeal. If packages are booked as a pair every seating arrangement should be together. And the second complaint was the hotel we had in Shanghai. It was an hour from the city centre, we got put in a family room with children's beds and the breakfast was by far the worst of the entire trip. The positives, as said before, King was an amazing tour guide. The Terracotta warriors, great wall & forbidden city were awesome. We purchased stuff at the jade and pearl factories. The hotel at Hangzhou was the best, with a large shopping centre next to it and the room was incredible and the breakfast was unreal with so much variety. Things we wish we knew that aren't communicated well - You can have 2 X 23kg checked luggage plus your backpack. For some reason tripadeals itinerary states only 1 X 20kg checked luggage and a back pack, this is incorrect. A few of your hotels will be nowhere near the cbds - now obviously the tour is insanely cheap. However in Shanghai and Beijing your hotel will be in the middle of nowhere. Alipay is your friend - we already had Alipay installed but once you get Alipay sorted and working correctly it is the most convenient app possible, paying for items, ordering didi (China's uber), sorting train tickets on your free days and the most helpful of all! You scan the barcodes at restaurants/cafe through the app to order! This alongside google translate makes purchasing food so much easier. Overall we both loved the trip, the price is incredible, the sights and the people are incredible. We will definitely be going back in the future but it wont be a tour again as we now have a good grasp of how to get around/make our time their easier!
In all the trip was fantastic. The majority of the time the guides were great. The experiences were excellent, the motels were excellent. There was a good balance of tour time and free time. The planning and organisation was impeccable in all countries. Thailand was very clean and felt like a safer country. Vietnam was an excellent experience. Cambodia had lots of time on the bus with transfers due to border closures. Our last guide Lilly was great, but I felt that other team members had no confidence, she felt weaker than the previous guides. The group of 10 we travelled to the airport with made her change the airport transfer time to 10am instead of 11am because she did not reassure them that we would have made the flight on time. There was plenty of time, I did not appreciate that the other 8 people controlled our movements, Lilly should have been more reassuring. I felt she was organised enough to trust.
Disappointed that our tour group didn’t go to teinemen square and sharing food wasn’t good as people would help themselves and not consider others at the table. Would have been nice to get more free time to look around and venture about. Tour guide in Shanghai wasn’t very accommodating to meet transport if we went on our own for a while. There was a lot of mould at most accommodation and all the coach filters were filthy and I ended up with a respiratory infection. Bullet train I was put in a separate carriage to my sister and any of the other people on my tour group and that made me feel very isolated. Apart from this I did love China and would love to visit again.
The Great Wall and Warriors were absolutely amazing. It was such a wonderful experience to see these treasures of the world. Our guides were helpful and knowledgeable, buses and drivers excellent. Our hotels were very comfortable. The optional tours, although not really optional in Beijing were good too. The ERA Acrobatics show was outstanding. The only down point was the amount of time spent listening to Sales pitches for jade, medicines, teas, pearls and silk. Although I did not feel pressured to buy I felt that there was a lot of time spent listening to the sales pitch.
The trip was wonderful. We did see a lot and got to experience a lot of culture. Things we loved were the first 2 tour guides (Sabina and Rocky) and their knowledge and experience. We would have liked some more time to explore in some places like the summer place as the time here felt a little rushed. We didn't get to visit Tiananmen square and we didn't get the offer of the summer place in its place. Things we didn't like, staying 1.5 hours out of the city of shanghai as this limited our options and the half day tour - why did i pay for this when it was on our bus and we didn't go into anything that cost money. We didn't get to see the Yu gardens so we were a little disappointed with that. Recommendations: if there is no food options included, point out food places - bring told you can eat lunch at 3pm because there were no other places was not great. If the tour bus is heading somewhere into the city, an offer to take people in would have been nice, otherwise we felt a bit stranded. More time at the great wall would have also been appreciated. Beds in back end of trip were not great. Xi'an had the best beds on tour
Very good trip The guides in Urumqi n Dunghuang were good. Kay, the guide in Gansu province, though with limited English went out of the way to ensure we were well looked after Some hotels did not have the fridge I requested for my medication, but managed to resolve the issue The Shanxi province guide was not up to our expectations, with so many optionals which she was trying to sell Overall the hotels were good n the coaches comfortable Thank you
The 2-day Canadian Rockies and seeing the breathtaking views in Canada. A friend recommended that if we ever do this, make sure to pick the Gold Leaf service and he quite right!
The trip was very interesting,we saw lots of different Temples, Mt Fuji andhe arnt about Japans History. Ben our guirde was very easy to understand. The driver was very helpful and his driving was very safe .
Loved the extension part of the trip more than the beginning part of the trip. Hanoi was great, enjoyed Ninh Binh but two times two hour boat rides not so much, a different activity would have been better. Halong Bay was lovely but really didn’t like Pu Luong as it was extremely hot and our guide made us walk to the cave and then back whereas other groups were driven to the cave and only had to walk back. Loved Hoi An and Ho Chin Min City. Overall a great trip but would have preferred more authentic food options instead of the buffets.
The history of China was truly amazing and was pleasingly surprised to see the photos posted in TripADeal matched exactly what we saw on our trip. We had a wonderful group of people on our tour also. Was definitely the trip of a lifetime. Was stunningly beautiful The Hanging Great Wall and The Heavenly Lake were my highlights and we were blessed with the weather Gods on our trip too, had the best weather. Would recommend for Aussies to take some coffee, sugar and salt and pepper. Definitely don’t forget the Vegemite 😜 Only suggestion I’d have would be to have a lay day in the middle of The trip, was a lot of long days a rest day would have been great.
The trip was brilliant until we got to Xian. The guide picked us up from the train then she decided we were tired and left us at the hotel for two hours, then we were out till 10 pm doing what we could have done in the afternoon. Rushed through the Warriors among huge crowds, could only see the outside of the City wall, not get on top. Then a completely wasted 'free day.' Tipping!!! When did the suggested tip go from US$5.00 a day, jump to $Au 12.00 a day??? When did tipping go from voluntary to mandatory??? The guide got quite aggressive and angry when I tipped $Au 50 each nstead of the Au$84 each he demanded. A: that was all the Au$ I had and B: on a voluntary basis that was more than he was worth. With such a big group we missed out on so much, the guides started their spiel with only part of the group and by the time we all assembled it was too late to hear most of it. Time to check in, time waiting for late arrivals, get into lifts. Get tickets or meals was very long. These sorts of things spoiled what was otherwise a great trip. Two out of three guides were OK. The drivers and the buses were great.
Each stop was unique and different. I felt like we saw the diversity in china. We did almost all the optional tours and felt a lot of them should simply be included. Local guides were great!
The country side of Vietnam is wonderfull, but the tour had too much free time, we were dumped at the hotel and told what time to meet in the morning, no brief of things to do around the place. Quite a few added side trips which you have to pay extra for above the advertised optional trips. Use it for cheap transportation but organise your own trips from each place as what you’ get on the included tours is just the basicd Tour guide quality varied from place to place, some good dome not so good. I will think hard before doing another Tripadeal trip.
Loved the whole trip Our tour guide Owen was very professional and knowledgeable. His very kind and respectful to all his passengers.. our driver also was very professional. Only issue was we would have preferred to fly out direct with no Brisbane stop over. Which I was not aware of when I booked as we paid an extra $100 thinking that was to depart from Melbourne Airport. However understand to keep the price reasonable.
Not happy with accommodation especially accommodation in Vancouver one of us had to sleep on a fold out bed with smelly blankets
I would prefer to travel over night so there would be 2 more days in Japan instead of flying for 2 days. Also would not mind having a welcome or good bye dinner so we have an opportunity to get to know fellow travelers or an opportunity to say good bye. Loved the guide that provided history and details about Japan. If I was an independent traveler, I would not know these details. As a solo traveler, I felt secure and looked after. Loved everything but my highlight was Mt Fuji. Stunning!
The days were long, sometimes not needing to be so, as the tour leader was somewhat disorganised, and sometimes chaotic, tending to be reversing decisions and stages of the programmed day, and confusing the tour cohort participants. The tour guide gave conflicting information, and consequently reversing the original information. Repetitive mannerisms served to sew the seeds of confusion. The tour guide did not deliver details in a timely manner, and did not provide maps when appropriate, and gave disorganised information, and insufficient detail. The tour guide had a poor sense of the needs of disabled clients, for alternate access points for entry and egress. The guide consistently referred to 'cultural villages', which were not so. The cohort of group members were a well behaved and amiable group, and friendships were easily formed. We were impressed because of our exposure to the magnificent South Korean people and their progressive and inclusive values.
The destination was fantastic. A great choice of Resort. Robinson Noonu was excellent. Staff, Food, Entertainment and Room was fantastic. The trip was very long ie takes up 2 days. Flights were changed a few times and delayed back by a day which was a bit of an inconvenience and Male is a real 3rd world dirty town for a stay over. Overall very happy.
Booking process is very easy. Documents arrived in good time. All the information for the entire trip was very clear and easy to understand. Our 3 guides were exactly where we were told and very easy to find. Our 3 guides during our trip were extremely helpful informative and knowledgeable. Unfortunately the accommodation was not always great. The Holiday Inn was the best. The Novatel in Shanghai was below par, my husband and I (both in our 60s) was allocated a family room, see photos below. The included excursions were good, however the Jade shop, the pearl shop, the terracotta shop, the silk shop and the tea shop got a bit too much. It was extremely fast paced and late nights and early departures took its toll. I would have paid more for an extra 3 or 4 nights. Some coaches were better than the others. Some of the accommodation was very good, but some were way too far from attractions..eg It took 2 hours from our hotel in Shanghai to downtown Shanghai. The lifts were extremely slow at some, we waited up to 25 mins to get down from the 18th floor (too far to carry luggage down the stairs). Most had restaurants and convient stores nearby, handy when there was not alot of western options at breakfast.
Tours should not be listed as optional because they are not . If you don’t go on optional tour you are not taken back to hotel etc you are left on the bus . Just include all tours to the trip and add the price in . Our tour did not go to Tiananmen Square and nothing else was added in its place . Take away Shanghai History Museum its not worth mentioning and the half day Shanghai tour not worth it . Loved the Terracotta warriors, Era intersection of time show and the Huangpu River night cruise. Not a lot of free time . Add a Disneyland day . All hotel accommodation was good but a little way out , the food at hotel was just warm otherwise the food great. I Would travel again with trip advisor, and I would recommend. Our family overall had a great holiday .
The Entabeni Safari was excellent, the rangers were very informative, we got to see all the animals up close and personal. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Big thanks to Matthew, Sammie & Daisy and all staff for making this holiday one we will never forget. The Victoria Falls were amazing, would recommend the Helicopter flight to see it from above as well.
The Balkans countries are fantastic, the people are amazing, very rich in history and culture, the old towns / palaces / castles / national park / caves are wonderful. We built camaraderie with our fellow Aussie travelers (Yellow Team), got to know a bit about each other, had laughs, friendly bantering and fun. Great bunch to travelled with. We also have an amazing, very efficient, organised, very helpful, funny and knowledgeable guide, Zeljko Mihic (a.k.a. Jake).
India - cultural experience loved the Taj, Sri Lanka - green & lush. Elephants were magic. Maldives - perfect finish
Every place was excellent, can't seperate out anything
Beijing-Great Wall, Forbidden City & Pandas @ Zoo were wonderful, Hotel was good but too far from City it was 2 hrs to get anywhere so a lot of time on the bus. Very disappointed we didn't have access to Tiananmen Square & only half an hour at the Winter Palace because we had to rush back to the hotel for people's massage & a dinner we had to pay for but was terrible. Too long at Jade shop there has to be a limit of 1hr it's ridiculous waste of time. Hutong extra walk waste of time & money, lunch in Hutong was great. Health centre too long felt like people were ripped off scared they got such a short consultation but played $100 of dollars. Adam our guide was very organised, maybe talked too much but funny. Xi'an Terracotta Warriors, Xi'an night walk, Muslim Street, Everbright was interesting but would have like to stay in Muslim area longer. Less time in Terracotta shop 1hr is more then needed. Richard our guide was so lovely no as organised as Adam but very kind & likeable. Wuxi - Lake Lihu lovely, Pearl factory too much time Suzhou-Venice note very impressive short boat ride basic canal not very grand. Silk factory too long 2.5hrs should be 1hr Hangzhou-Tea factory all about sales nothing about tea really. West Lake nice 3hrs to Shanghai. Shanghai, Bund History Museum, half day tour, up tower, not enough time in Shanghai so rushed, spent the whole of the 2nd day going to Airport & waiting for planes. Shanghai was very disappointing we should have been taken to the Bund for the nightlights, the cruise was basic & expensive down the river. Harry our youngest guide was very organised welcoming & informative. All guides were funny & did a good job. We spend so much time on the bus getting to the next place 1 to 2 his everywhere, stopping at all the big factory shops at least 2hrs every where toooo long waste of time. It's a short trip packing in too much, most people complained they got no free time, no time to wander or shop as pressure was placed to do all extra tours options. China is amazing clean, surprisingly green, and organised, food was mostly good, hotels good. Too much time on the bus everyday, too much time in factory shops it has to be limited to 1hr, Winter Garden should have minimum 3hrs you drive so far for half an hour, then have to leave its ridiculous. Buses clean & all bus drives were good. Overall we had a good trip but we wouldn't travel like this again.
Itinerary met our expectations Norway Alps - outstanding Stockholm was surprisingly beautiful Tallinn - the guide gave us fabulous insights on the history and the effects it has had on the culture The driver of the Norway section was outstanding. We always felt he was in control of all the driving conditions Guide- poor communication skills Disorganised - the daily routines for breakfast lunch and dinner were ad hoc. Guides punctuality was poor Misinformation - information give was often inaccurate resulting in frustration In the many changes Due to the guide situation we will probably be reluctant to us Trip A Deal again
Loved everything. Nice hotels and people. Just a bit rushed, wished we can enjoy some of the attractions longer
Pros: Small group dynamic, great hotels, delicious food, deep cultural immersion, helpful TripADeal support. Cons: Long travel days, excessive airport wait times, poor communication during transit. Review: Had a great recent trip to Sri Lanka with TripADeal. Having a smaller group size made the experience much more enjoyable and cohesive. The accommodation and meals were top-tier, and the tour offered a truly authentic immersion into local Sri Lankan culture. Furthermore, TripADeal provided excellent support with all our essential session needs pre-travel. The only major room for improvement is the logistics around transit. We experienced very long travel days and frustratingly long wait times at the airports with almost no communication or updates provided. Aside from the transit communication lapse, it was a fantastic holiday. Plus the bonus was our engagement in the Maldives
Overall the Tour was very good. All main attractions were visited. Accommodation was good to excellent. Tour Guides were profesional, helpful and informative. On the negative side there was far to much time travelling. Both within cities because the accommodation was usually an hour or more from the city centre or attractions, and between cites because of the distances (up to 6 hours on a bullet train) but also adding an hour to get to the station, an hour at the station and another hour to get to the destination hotel. Suggestion: Don't do any sightseeing on long travel days. This would add a couple of days to the tour making it a little more expensive but it would be a less intensive itinerary.
Our guide Warmuan Elephant Safari Dutch Forte Largest Buddhist temple Tea plantation tour I think one temple would be suitable with a little more down time Need longer to climb the Lion Rock for those of us who are not as fit.
Very Organised and very informative, both tour guides Robert and Michelle excellent 😊
Overall the trip was excellent. The accommodation was good. All accommodation was quiet and comfortable although a couple of the hotels didn’t have a mini fridge in the room which was needed by a couple of people to keep eye drops and other medicines cool. Most accommodation had a swimming pool except Strawberry Farm in the Cameron Highlands where it was too cool to need one. Buffet breakfasts were excellent in all accommodation. Transport was brilliant and always exactly on time and very comfortable. The only exception to comfort was the jeeps up to Mossy Forest and tea plantations but this is to be expected and the drive although challenging for those with poor mobility was fun. The drivers throughout were very good and I always felt safe. There were also appropriate comfort stops. We saw almost everything that was mentioned on the itinerary except for a couple of places that were closed. The guide Gerald was very helpful and while we were on the tour he did every thing he could to help organise taxis and point us in the direction we wanted to go. An appropriate amount of time was allocated for each stop with the exception of the tea plantation tour. The tour by the plantation guide was cursory and rushed. The highlight was the last four days at Rebak Island. The resort is fabulous, The boat ride to the resort from Langkawi was fun, the food excellent, happy hours stretches for more than an hour and the pool is wonderful. The only drawback is that there isn’t any snorkelling from the resort beach. Everyone we met was welcoming and helpful and it was very good value for money. I am sure there were people on the tour to find fault but as far as value for money goes I thought it was very good. Our group had various mobility and health issues but we were in a group of fifteen other travellers who were patient and helpful. We had a tiring but wonderful time.
Well organised and everything as advertised. I varied itinerary that covered a lot of China. The guides were knowledgeable, patient and spoke excellent English. Would recommend this trip.
Our guide Blair was amazing and made the experience absolutely wonderful. We visited some lovely places both modern and traditional. However a couple of the locations were over crowded to the point where you could barely move and the lines to the toilets/ places to eat were too long to be able to use or order during the allocated time in that particular place. Included or options tours such as sumo wrestling , a geisha tea ceremony and visiting a rice plantation to learn about the processes would have topped this tour instead of the 2/3 overcrowded shopping experiences offered. Therefore more Japanese cultural experiences would be highly recommended. The highlights were the optional Hiroshima tour,, boat ride to see Mt Fuji, Kyoto , the bullet train ride (optional tour) and Narra. One concern is that the brochure and itinerary from TAD only included 2 optional tours but there were 4 offered. These also included information at each location that implied that experiences were on offer when in fact they were not eg. Climbing Mt Fuji or experiencing the hot springs. There was definitely not time for either nor were these offered during the tour. It was tough needing to leave the motel at 3:30am to catch the Qantas flight home. Overall a good tour for those who want a taste of Japan.
Overall the trip was OK. During our Beijing time, rain came on the day we went to The Great Wall. Our guide, Alice, juggled the itinerary which resulted in us getting to the Wall just as the rain stopped. Good call, Alice! We did not want to go on some of the optional tours but for one in particular, we felt pressured to do so. We ended up sitting on the bus for several hours, because Alice seemed unprepared to let us "do our own thing" during the Hutong/home visit/pedicab tour. Alice was adamant that she did not know where the pickup point or finish time would be, so we could not simply walk around the area while the group took the tour. As it turned out, the pickup point was the exact place the group was dropped off, so it is hard to see that the pickup point could not be provided, nor an approximate time for pickup. Apparently others in our group did leave the activity partway through and had been given a time to be at the pickup point. If tours are shown as optional, participants should not be denied opportunities to do other activities, nor pressured into participating in optional tours. Alan, our tour Guide in Shanghai/Hangzhou, was great. He was thoroughly professional and did not pressure us into optional tours. Alan was entertaining on the long bus trips and his English is great. The biggest issue we had with the trip was the late night transfers. We did not arrive into Beijing until close on midnight. That was bad enough but did not get to our hotel until 2am, after a long bus ride. Similarly, when transferring from Beijing to Suzhou. The itinerary stated "You can then check into your hotel for an evening at leisure after an approximately 110-kilometre travel day." We left Beijing at 21:30 arriving in Shanghai at 23:30 and then had a 90+ minute bus ride to Suzhou!! An evening of leisure?? Then to top it off, several buses arrived at the same time and we had to queue for more than 30 minutes to a lift to our room. Only 3 of the 4 lifts were operating. In Shanghai, the hotel was situated a long way from the City, necessitating a 90 minute bus ride from the hotel one evening and then another 90 minute bus ride the following day, to put us back in the CBD/Bund area the following day. The breakfasts at the Courtyard By Marriott Shanghai Jiading were poor. Food selection was poor, the bread toasting equipment was useless. The room was satisfactory. The bus drivers on both legs of the trips were good, even though they spoke little English. The buses were clean and both drivers were good drivers.
Our tour guide Angi was very knowledgeable and such a lovely lady. We saw so much of the country. I loved the whole trip. I really can’t pick a favourite as it was the best holiday we have ever had. The only 2 things I would say that needed improvement was we booked a party of 4 to go and most rooms were not side by side and the cruise we were a bit of a distance between us. The other thing would be not to shop at supermarkets and to support more local small businesses.
Absolutely thrilled with the Incredible China Tour. We went with no expectations drawn by the price to see a country that was not really on our bucket list. What a pleasant surprise; loved China and every detail from start to finish provided by Trip A Deal in the tour offering was way above our expectations. The hotels were great with spacious rooms, good quality, and good amentities. The tour inclusions were interesting and well planned. The tour options were fabulous. And the tour guides informative, interesting, and fun. Huge shout out to Henry who in particular does an amazing job of keeping us on track and to our fellow travellers who were a pleasure to travel with 💛
We loved everything we got to see and do while we were in China.
We had great time in China We appreciate to tripareal Who's pay more attention to Our needs in our group Had been discussing about Next a holiday , still not Finalists decided yet What Next will be, if tripareal give us a good deal is possible We'll use tripareal again Very appreciate to all Tripareal staff Sam.
Xian was the highlight More free tome longer than an hour in major cities like Beiking and Shanghai Hotels need to be more central to town centres customers will pay more no need to pick cheapest
1: Li River rafting 2: Chendu Buddha boat trip 3: Reed Flute Cave-magnificent It was a good idea to arrive the day before the tour started due to change in flights. The tour guide added and extra unscheduled optional trip in the afternoon at Zhangaliajie but made no alternative arrangements for people that didn't want to go on it. Consequently we all went on the trip and the previous activity was extremely rushed. He informed us that there were few steps and the walking was flat. It wasn't and four of the group waited outside for over an hour at the top of the mountain while the group completed the walk. At no time did he explain what alternative arrangements had been made for those not wishing to go on the optional tour nor did he describe what had been arranged for the formal part of the afternoon before touting the optional trip. The Guilin tour guide Fae was excellent, related well with the group and is highly recommended. The hotels were comfortable and breakfasts good.
Some good guides, some reasonable hotels although breakfast mostly poor. The ‘tips’ being so called optional is not the case and Tripadeal needs to change this. Overall it was good but so much time on travelling on buses, waiting for trains etc. The hotel Southern China put us in in our last night was terrible, air conditioning not working and smelled of cigarettes
The program was reasonably successful. It would be great if breakfast was included ( even at an additional cost) this starts your day off, this was a common observation on our bus. Hotels with no elevator consider the average age of the group(75 to 18) average approx 65+. I tripped over going up narrow stairs which were crowded ( 8 stitches and unwanted visit to hospital). Overall well run, great group, but I’ll probably look for more inclusions next time, you do have some great deals. I did find going 2 days early was good but not happy about $300 each for the privilege. E-mails must be getting expensive.
Bedding should be double bed for couples not singles
All good. Amazing scenery. Well organised tour.
Loved all the places we visited, highlight was Great Wall. Disappointed we could not visit Tiananmen Square, apparently political visits were in town. I think we could have easily worked around that as I was told another tour got to go the same day. Also 6 people missed their flight to Beijing from Shanghai the first day and our tour guide just waited for them all day to catch up. We spent all day at the Forbidden City just to wait for these people. We did not go anywhere else for the whole day which was so wrong . Most tours were good, but I feel the tour guides were only interested in getting money for the tours then didn’t want to know you. A few tours were rushed also.
Loved:- Visit to Borobudur and Prambanan temples Becak ride in Yogyakarta Mt Bromo Banyuwangi Permuteran and the snorkelling Nusa Dua extension Improvements Clearer directions of pick up from airport Contacts where people will answer the phone Visiting different parts of Jakarta Mix up with train impacted negatively the next few days Not following the itinerary Your of national park at Banyuwangi was pretty ordinary Tour guide could have provided greater information about places we were passing through and ideas of where we could go in our free time More definite times of when we had to finish an activity so we could move on Information could have been provided when asked for it In the questions below, there was a range Eg the local tour guides were great There were some excellent activities and excursions as well as some ordinary ones. Some accommodation was average- most was very good.
The accommodation and guide at each city visited were amazing and truly made the trip that extra special.
We absolutely loved this trip. We saw a great deal of Northwest US, we loved Yellowstone., the drive through Canada was stunning, and we ended the trip with a lovely cruise along the inside passage of Alaska. This trip covered quite a long distance, and we were in the bus a lot of the time. I would have preferred to not have so much bus time however in order to see the sights,, it was necessary to have that travel time. We were on the yellow bus, a group of 42. It was an amazing group with wonderful camaraderie, which made the whole experience so much better. We were incredibly fortunate to have Alina K as our tour guide, and Warren as our driver. Both of them went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic experience, they worked together beautifully as a team, and we always felt safe and looked after. Alina had lots of activities, educational talks, and was full of knowledge of all the areas that we went to. This has been our 2nd TripADeal trip (first was to Borneo - amazing) and we have been more than satisfied with both.
Really enjoyed this holiday. South Korea is a really beautiful country to visit, loved the culutre, food, scenery and the locals were very respectful to tourists. The tour was well organised and not rushed, the hotels were excellent and the tour guide was very informative and friendly. Will recommend Tripadeal to my family and friends.
Loved the cruise and ports of Japan. What we didn’t like was being charged an excessive price for no service Jetstar flights, when we didn’t want the cheap stopover all night flights that came with the deal. I would have preferred to book them ourselves and would have done it so much cheaper. Also trip a deal doesn’t let you book your stateroom on the cruise ship which we would have preferred. Otherwise a great holiday.
Tour was very well organized. Flights from Brisbane were very good with China Southern. Having couple days extra (as optional) to stay back and enjoy Shanghai in a lot slower pace would be nice.
I enjoyed the trip but it would be good if it’s 14 days tour instead of 12. Also when I arrived to Chengdu half a day was already gone. Would appreciate if I can strat travel on 0 day. Everything was great and the tour guides are very helpful as well. The he Korean BBQ lunch wasn’t tasty at all. Would prefer a simple Chinese restaurant. Would have enjoyed more if it’s not raining.
Every thing was great but especially the river safaris 😊
The Highlights were the Warriors & the Wall. Improvements would be hotels & stop forced meal bookings. We did not get a choice on where to eat for a large portion of the trip. The extra costs need to be listed in the documentation (Headpiece, Additional lunches/dinner not part of a tour/additional). Stop the lies told by the guides too please.
Our tour guide was excellent.
Attractions are excellent in Beijing. It costed so much time to travel from one city to another because China is big. We came and packed to leave next morning, a bit tire. We had quite an experience. I think the intenerary was a bit tight.
It was very fast paced, late nights. The Hangzhou Star Ocean Hotel (or it's substitute) was disgusting- very heavy smoke odour in rooms. Metro Park hotel room smelled stale and mouldy. King- the first guide was brilliant, Lucky- 2nd guide was obviously exhausted, Helen was difficult to understand, JZ was also brilliant. The flights going over were very tight in transfer time, coming back to much time sitting in the airports.
Loved wall of China it was great to get so much in so little time Amanda and Tom were amazing guides Maria was very hard to understand .We found out you have Disneyland it would be good if you could do a trip with that included. Also the motels need to incloud more English movies and make it easier to transfer to English.
Our tour guide Brendan was excellent with so much knowledge. The people we travelled with were great company which helps the trip fun.Loved most places on the itinerary. The cave visit was a let down. The cultural experience was very good.
Lots of activities to do. Tour guides very helpful.
Our tour guide in Cape Town(Nathan) as he was very informative and very helpful especially to my daughter Danielle who has MS Cape Town was great and the accommodation at the Hilton was fantastic Kurger National Park was fantastic and accommodating was great, food surrounds were fantastic and great guides as well Victoria Falls was absolutely amazing and once again our guide Arnold was terrific and very informative and the accommodation at Victoria Falls was really good and the quality of the food was fantastic
As it was my first trip it was awesome. The information was a little hard to digest because it was too dense and fast but the trip was really good. Ill have to check-out some more Tripadeal packages. I'm not sure if it was just our group but there was people who needed more time to get to places and digest the hosts words, so thats something that could be improved. Anywho I loved it, thanks Avita and Tripadeal Im giving a four as the max because i cant give a 4.5, and theres always room for improvement
Loved every minute of it!! Can’t believe I was on the Great Wall and also the Terracotta Warriors, simply amazing. There will always be those who will complain, but I think they do that anytime!! I did all the options and enjoyed them all. I went on the tour so I didn’t have to organize anything!! Would recommend this to anyone who has limited time and just see the important stuff!! The accommodation was beautiful, clean and comfortable, did not expect that!! Our tour guides worked so hard, they were so helpful.
The tour guide Blair was very knowledgeable and looked after us every step of the way and made our holiday great, the driver was amazing and got us safely to all our destinations. The accommodation was great and very comfortable. Thank you for making my trip great and learning so much about Japan. Michelle
Do not stay in Lu Puong for more than one night or not at all if possible. Terrible hotel facilities and way too many steps to accommodation. 400 plus to my room. Food was almost not edible. Add another night in Nimb Binh. We feel the tour guides recommended places of friends for dinners etc. group meals outside of inclusions in the tour should not be forced on people
The whole trip was fantastic.
The two flights in the middle of the night were very tedious and tiring . A single flight would have been a lot better with maybe Sri Lanka air, And the food at the elephant feed should be looked into as a few persons became very sick and spoilt their holiday
Brilliant. Right direction so that early experiences were built on later. A full and well thought out itinerary
Cruise was the highlight.
I love the amazing sights of Mt Fuji, Meiji Shrine, Wasabi Farm, etc. Interesting and enjoyable experience. The Maiko Dinner was a very enjoyable experience with the Maiko lady. Both the tour guides were very helpful. Thank you.
Nothing loved it From start to finish we had a fantastic time All our guides were good but Shanghai's Sunny was outstanding.
We had an amazing time in Japan, everything went smoothly, we had a lovely tour guide Blair was so helpful and caring which made our stay so good, we had a great group we got on really well. Qantas flights were good staff on board were friendly this trip was great value for money
Had a great experience visiting China
My rating is 4.5 stars. Highlight was everything in Japan and how great South Korea was as it wasn’t a place we thought about going to.
Enjoyed the intinerary; particularly the glass bridge (completely undersold with just that title), the Avatar mountains, and the caves! All spectacular! The tour guides Jenny & Nora were so lovely. Appreciated their patience. Such a cheap holiday! :)
It was an amazing experience, thanks to our wonderful tour guides, Bill and Molly who had an ocean of knowledge about China and explained the importance and history of each place we went to. They were also very helpful in guiding us to a variery of food locations, atm's, shopping malls etc. Would surely recommend this trip to friends. The hotels were amazing and the tour buses and drivers very helpful with our luggage. Overall an amazing experience and would love to do it all over again. Thank you TRIPADEAL.
Well organised, good quality activities, very friendly and helpful staff
David Turist guy is a good man In Shanghai . I hope will see him next trip
Excellent holiday. Value for money and good service. Could have made the optional expenses as part of the bills so people are aware of how much we pay. Optionals are not optionals all are coerced into it.
Liked the organisation of the tour, generally great guides, very good accommodation, great tours and optional tours, plenty of food! Our first guide who greeted us in Beijing, King, was simply the best!
