Wow! What a fantastic tour. This was my first experience of a tour with Trip a Deal and it did not disappoint. Everything was taken care of, and our local guide in each destination was absolutely wonderful. They were all helpful and went out of their way to make sure each of us were happy and ok. Thank you to Johnny in North Vietnam, Hip in Central Vietnam, Eric in South Vietnam, Borey in Phenom Penh, and Onn in Siam Reap. Having our cruise in Ha Long Bay to only our tour group was wonderful. Hoi An was stunning. Cu Chi Tunnels and the War Musuem in Ho Chi Minh were eye opening. All of Cambodia was superb. Onn took me and the last couple to the floating village in Siam Reap and I recommend that be part of the tour itinerary as I’m sure a lot of travellers would love to see that before flying home. I travel vlogged all the way through to add to my memories. Will definitely book another trip with Trip a Deal soon!

Ultimate African Adventure

An experience we will never forget. We saw and did so much, from climbing enormous sand dunes to watching cheetahs run down their prey. The only downside was the distance traveled on bad roads, but that was all part of the African adventure. I have been bitten by the Africa bug and suspect we’ll be back in the not too distant future. If you’re thinking about it, just do it.

Ultimate Europe for 2

It was great to be picked up from the airport and taken to the hotels. However the hotels were looated way out of the main tourist and/or shopping areas, which meant much time was wasted and we were limited as to what we could do once at the hotels. . Arriving late at night meant we were exhausted and jet lagged and was barely able to enjoy the first few days of the tour. Also late flights meant we lost the first day of the tour, for example we only had 2 full days in Dubai, as opposed to the 4 days and 3 nights advertised. Dubai was meant to have been a highlight and cost additiobal thousands. Also the additional tours had to be paid in usd and when we consider the over $17000 base cost of this trip, having to pay $$$ for additional tours to fill the day seemed unfair and excessive, but necessary. We travelled through multiple countries in a week, which was great, but it would have been more beneficial to have a more local tour leader who could provide more indepth insighrs as we traversed over a thousand kilometers with little commentary in a week. We had a better experience in South Korea where the local tour leader additionlly also used video recordings which were shared on the coach TV to give local insights. It was useful to have local guides in Vienna and Venice. The coach/ bus was shabby compared to our South Korean experience. We requested for flight upgrades to premium economy for all 4 legs and was intially quoted over $7600, on top of the almost $17000 base cost, which already included economy flights.. it was then advised by TAD it would only be 3 premium economy flights. Eventually we only got 2 premium economy flights. As we are both tall people and had recently undergone some procedures, we then also had to pay additionally for extra leg room, directly to Emirates. We have applied for a fair refund from TAD for the flight downgrades. We also later realised from talking with others that it was way cheaper to have gone through Emirates directly than going through TAD for the upgrade. Emirates refunds are also immediate. We are awaiting for a fair and quick full refund from TAD for the downgraded flights. While the cruise was good, it was very disappointing not to have free access to drinking water on board, especially considering that the tour was in the height of the European summer. We had to pay over 4euro per bottle of water. Even the drinks package which required additional payment on board, included only 500ml of water per day. This lack of access to drinking water was outrageous, especially when we know the nornal adult requires 2 litres of water to stay hydrated in normal weather! We also paid 105euro for an internet package on board the cruise, but had no access to internet for the first 5 days, despite having gone multiple times to the service desk. Once we asked for a refund as it hadnt worked, it did work but we were charged the full amount! Also, the additional costs of tours at each port was exhorbitant, but necessary in order to get the most out of the cruise, as they were not included We were pleased with the service and friendliness of the crew on board and appreciated the safe driving of the driver on the land trip This has been a learning experience. Nevertheless, we are looking forward to our next trips with TAD, as well as our reimbursement.

I loved everything. The locations we went to were designed for maximum impact and they didn’t disappoint. The hotels were good and had good breakfasts. Although a fairly packed itinerary there was still some free time to enjoy unplanned activities. The bus driver was excellent and kept us all safe on some particularly hair raising roads.

5-Star China & Yangtze Cruise

I thought the trip was very well organised . All the guides were excellent especially Sam and Allan. The accommodation was exceptional. I think that the iitial pace was insane. Getting in at 230 am after a long day of travel , then been expected to get up and going by 8am was unrealistic. It seemed the itinerary was NOT followed with many late minute changes or deletions. I think the criss cross way the itineray was scheduled led to lot of additional land travel, and could have been better planned eg fly into Beijing, down to Xian, down to Guilin then up to Shanghai (or vica versa) . In Beijing, it felt the optional tours were mandatory because of the pressure the guide Joli applied (it was a lot more organising to get non participants back to the Hotel) . Overall, though, I loved China and Im glad I has=d teh opportunity to see and experience so much.

We had land contention only. So felt last and first day we not included. That’s ok. Loved the areas we seen. So impressed with driver on the wet rainy flooding days. I was very emotional at Hiroshima. I had no idea about Japan really it was my first time. And I looked at TAD as my introduction at age 69. I love art, and gardens, so would have liked to have skipped shopping g hours and had the option of gardens, and galleries. Maybe there could be themed TAD tours. All in all great experience. Runa our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable on history. Ps skip the deer park. Naru. Tourist trap. Cruel for the deer. Thankyou.

Ultimate African Adventure

Wanted to give the tour 3.5 but there wasn't a 3.5 to tick so had to round it down. Saw the big five. But most days involved very long travel of hundreds of km on poor or very poor roads, particularly in Botswana. The roads were mostly dusty except in South Africa. The truck was ok (you get used to it); however, the lack of air con was hard when the outside temperature was high. Checking in our accommodation didn't happen until late afternoon or early evening on most days. We stayed at most places for 1 night only. And an early start (before 6am) was frequent. Dinner sometimes happened after 8pm. The tour guide was very good. The tour could be improved by omitting stopping at tour booking agencies, more multi-night accommodation wherever possible, and providing more tour details in writing (íntead of and/or in addition to daily verbal briefing after dinner after a long day on the road). Tripadeal should also ensure the safety of women travelling alone. Our group stayed 1 night at Elephants Sand Resort, a place where elephants and other animals roam free. Our truck arrived after dark (7pm), and we were taken to our rooms in small pick-up trucks and told not to wander the ground at night. Some single women in the group were given glamping tents (which are flimsy considering how big elephants are). In the context of the ground having big animals roaming free, mobile phones didn't work at the sort, there was no way of communicating to anyone who could help, this situation was unacceptable, not just for women travelling alone but for everyone. Also, the resort didn't give out keys for people to lock their rooms. This is another safety issue that Tripadeal should investigate and rectify.

To rushed in Hanoi, didn't really get to see the place .Halong Bay the boat was absolutly magical loved all of it. HOI AN and Ba Na Hill certainly topped the holiday. Loved the accomodation in Hoi An. HO CHI MIN EXCITING ,LOTS TO SEE AND DO. Love the day at the tunnel's .Mekong River absolute Bore!! Thought it was more picturesque, would rather a tour on Siagon River with a meal. BEST ever head massage in Siagon. Cambodia great and more relaxed, glad I saw atrocities of Khmer Rouge but once is enough, very Sad. Loved Phnom Phen and Anghor Wat. Some days wasted in airports or on the bus but that's the way it is.Busses rather substandard, seats very narrow step up from middle of isle, making person sitting on inside seat having to dangle legs!! Tour leaders great. MEALS AWESOME, days full on but saw amazing sites and made the most amazing freinds thank you trip a deal fFx the buses and would come again.would have loved a direct flight from Perth, rather than split flights ,I also know you try and do best by the customer

What I loved and highlights: Itinerary was very good, though there appear to be a slight change at the end of trip which was unexpected and not well received by the group. Victor the first tour guide was excellent and caring, and the three drivers were excellent. Suggestions for improvements: Everyone's passport handling back and forth between the tour guide and us were poorly done. You currently use a number designated to each person for the trip, so why not use this same number, place the number on a self sticky note on the back of the passport, so that you simply call out the number on the passport and return back the right passport to that person, this would save a lot of headache. I understand that Trip a Deal is looking for value and low cost for hotels. The last hotel on this trip was okay but very far away from the CBD or the city centre where the main attractions are. If you do that, why not help your travellers by providing the appropriate information for taking the bus or subway train stations with maps and directions for their last day which you call their free day to explore. I know it would be helpful for me as language becomes an issue overseas. We spend a lot of time and effort trying to get the same information individually. The page that shows the gratuities/ tipping calculations is wrong and confusing. You have 15 days total x $12 = $180, while you also have Total per person $168. If Trip a Deal cannot get it right, how is the customer going to? How is the tour guide out in the field going to? Travel days are they included for gratuities? Not clearly stated. Trip a Deal management needs to be better. Hope this helps, Cheers, Wayne & Sing

Overall the holiday was great, and extremely good value. During our visit to the Warriors, our tour guide Rocky made us pay for an additional tour, which a lot of people hadn’t budgeted for. It certainly wasn’t a suggested tour on our itinerary A lot of the tours are simply an excuse to take us to a particular shop. A factory tour was more of a shopping tour

everything went like clockwork !! the hotels lived up to what was promised, the guides were great ( mr minh in the north was a delight and Nick in the south was a really fun man to be around . Mr Huy in central Vietnam was a little more reserved, but a good guide also.) i have a food intolerance which was really well catered for, something i did have unfounded worries about. No need to book too many optional tours before you go, as the guide can arrange them for the same price the day before....the days are full, so sometimes it is nice to have some time out. when in Hanoi i would definitely go to the Hanoi Memories show ( google it ) as it is absolutely wonderful !! You'll have an amazing time

- Our guide Ramesh was very good and knowledgeable. - The reasonably fast pace of the tour was appropriate given the short period. - The hotels (we paid for the upgrade) were of a good standard. - The mini-bus was an appropriate size for our tour group of 7 but if there was more than 8 people (plus guide & driver) this would be very tight & uncomfortable, given the long road journeys inherent in this tour.

The Tour was fantastic. The Tour Guide Dash was excellent 11/10. The Driver Silver and his assistant also gold star. The bus that was supplied for our tour was 5 stars. Not all accommodations were of a high standard but probably a 3 1/2 out of 5. Staff were all of a high standard. Hotels a bit out of the way not giving us the option to eat other than at the restaurant in the hotel. Overall, nothing really to complain about.

Great way to see the country. The optional tours made the days feel long, tiring, and rushed. I requested no pork for our meals at least ten times to Michelle, as we are Muslims. Unfortunately, the waiters didn’t speak English, so I couldn’t communicate with them, and I ended up eating pork. I was furious and not impressed at all, as the tour guide Michelle didn’t prioritize our food request because she said she was busy. Hotels were nice.

Tom, our tour guide really made the trip easy. His English was really good and was always willing to go above and beyond to cater to our needs. The tour was good, it was busy though so not too much down time but we knew that going in. Some of the activities coupled with the heat really can take it out if you so some extra down time would be nice. The hotel in Pu Long was satisfactory, it was just a bit run down, the food was limited, but mindful we just came from the Pan Pacific in Hanoi which is amazing, so its not really a fair comparison. Maybe 2 nights there would suffice and an extra day in nihn bihn or hanoi would have been better as there isn't much around Pu Long. Overall champagne complaints really, we were pleased and overly grateful to the team for the effort they put in to make sure our trip went to plan.

Natural Wonders of China

Had a wonderful trip on Natural Wonders of China. We had 3 wonderful guides in Molly, Sherry and Henry. Our tour group was really good and mixed in well. The sights were excellent. The buses, train and all the Hotels were top class. One suggestion for Molly in Chengdu when visiting the Giant Panda Breeding Centre is to allow oldies like me to go on the shuttle bus to the top and walk down or even do the shuttle bus again. As we did the tour the day after arriving after a drive and then 3 flights I was still jet lagged. Loved the Leshan Giant Buddha, Kung Fu Show in Emeishan, visiting the Avatar mountain, experiencing the 12 escalators to the top of the Tianmen mountain, the Bailong Elevator, the Glass bridge and the picturesque area of Guilin. Something impressive every day and our guides showed us all of that through their passion for their country.

Best of Japan

Overall we enjoyed the Japan experience very much....even the earthquake on night one! Improvement Suggestions: A social get together at the initial hotel, with all the people on the trip day one or two, so everyone gets to know their travelling companions before setting off on the experience. We feel the tour leader and guests should have communication (miked up with head sets) when outside of the coach. We missed a lot of what our guide was saying as she walked away in front from the group. We felt some of the days were too long, rushed and too full, trying to cover too much. Gratuities...there was some angst and pushback about this amongst some guests . We feel the gratuities should be included as part of the tour cost to alleviate the problems we experienced and having to make sure to have the money on hand, and calculate how much for the number of days and avoiding the tour leader having to handle the large amount of cash. Other than the above suggestions, we really did enjoy the Japan experience with Trip A Deal!

The absolute highlight of the trip was the Makio night, the most disappointing excursion was the cormorant fishing experience, we could not see anything so l would recommend changing that excursion to something else. Loved : itinerary - saw a lot & our guide Nila was very thoughtful, informative and caring. Loved Horton plains walk and Elephant safari Overall tour was very well organised and all went smoothly Improvements: some accommodation was substandard for “Luxury” tag- suggest a review of each hotel after each stay Also the visit to the “spice garden” was just a hard sell to tourists - this felt manipulative and a waste of our valuable holiday time

After arriving in Hanoi, it was two days before we met our guide and I think there should have been some contact other than a confusing letter at reception. Overall the accommodation was good although some hotels were not five star as advertised on the Tripadeal guide. The bus was great and the driver and guide (when we eventually met him) were both fantastic. The highlands were very beautiful and the roads were good. I struggled with the animal cruelty especially witnessing animals (including dogs) ******* ready for being killed. We also happened on an animal sacrifice (pig) in the hemp village, it was very traumatic as it was right in front of us. We also saw cooked dogs being cut up for food. I think clients should be warned that seeing this sort of cruelty is likely on these trips. I was very annoyed with the return trip from Vietnam. We went from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh to Sydney to Auckland. I then had to fly to Wellington so four flights and 26hours of travel, it was a nightmare. I took several flights in Vietnam during the trip and the airlines were always late so the two hour gap between flights Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh was not enough time, there were hold ups and huge queues at Ho Chi Minh and it was touch and go to get on the Sydney flight. As there are several daily flights from Sydney to Wellington, I can't see why you can't organise flights from Sydney direct to Wellington, after all the cost is the same. Also there was no need to fly to Ho Chi Minh when there are daily flights direct to Sydney. Based on the awful home trip, I would definitely think twice before rebooking with TripaDeal.

Was a fantastic trip our first ever group tour and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was! Great places to visit, though think we could have done with one more night in Zhangjiajie location. Would also have liked the opportunity to add extra days onto our stay. We were the only ones to go to Beijing from Guilin and we were amazingly able to arrange a last minute dash to the Great Wall but would have liked the flexibility to add an extra night or two to see more of Beijing. We are fairly active but think that a few people struggled with the pace of the Zhangjiajie section. We were ever so grateful to Steven for getting us to all the attractions, he had a difficult time trying to manage people with different fitness etc. His English was not as good as Leila’s but he was really good! All our guides were great! We flew Cathay Pacific & it was fabulous; would have been good to have it detailed that we could only get Qantas points via entering details at airport as on way there, we checked in online and we were unaware our frequent flyer number wasn’t automatically registered and we missed out on points 😔 Also would have been good to be told we had to purchase own breakfast on last morning in Beijing before checking in. Other than that, great experience!

This is my third TripADeal holiday and the organisation this time was amazing. In particular, there were 3 buses on this trip and the buses were staggered and didn't all arrive at the same time at the hotels. Our Tour Director, Christopher McPhee, went into the hotels and collected our room keys before we got off the bus and gave them to us which meant that there were not crowds of people in the hotel foyers waiting to receive their room allocation and keys. This didn't happen on my last trip, Beauty of the Balkans, and it was very chaotic but this time, it was very civilised and appreciated. The places were visited were beautiful and the rest stops were always at interesting places not just roadside petrol stations like I experienced in the past. Again very much appreciated.

Maybe let go of the optional Maglev train ride and have a full day in shanghai city at leisure then into the optional night cruise. The trip was well worth the money and would highly recommend doing. If you don't have some degree of basic fitness then the 10 day tour may be difficult and you can become a burden on the rest of the group, you will average 20000 steps per day at a reasonable pace.

All aspects of Switzerland were covered on this tour with the ease of transportation you would only expect from the Swiss. In my free time the half fare card helped me save on transport for my own little adventures. I loved that my luggage was transported for me every day. Location of all hotels was amazing. Could easily survive on a budget, eating from the co op/ supermarkets as they have a wide range of ready to go hot and cold meals, or splurge with a vast array of restaurants and cuisines. This was my second time on this tour and still loved it just as much.

This trip was absolutely fantastic and the organisation was flawless. I loved the service of transporting our luggage to each hotel for us. The accomodation was all well located, the facilities at the Grand Hotel Suisse in Montreux, the Hotel Walter au Lac in Lugano and Hotel Drei Konige in Lucerne were particularly comfortable. The male reception staff members at The Hotel Alexander were terrific, so polite and helpful. I did all of the optional add on tours, all were well run and organised. The JungFrau and Matterhorn, whilst obviously both unique, had similar experiences in terms of travel, and ice cave features, I would have loved to have had an optional of something different such as a cooking class. The trip was fairly hectic and the travel to St Moritz was a long day leaving us no time to explore the town, I would have preferred to skip St Moritz and spend an extra day in Lugano. An extra day in Montreux would also have been nice. Our tour leader Paul, was exceptional. His knowledge, enthusiasm, organisational skills and fun and unflappable temperament made the trip all the more enjoyable.

After 30yrs of waiting so visit Istanbul my dream came true. I could have spent more days as there's one highlight after another, to mention one would be an insult to all the others. Can one highlight Ephesus and omit Hagia Sophia, Cappadocia, Pergamon. I loved it all

seeing the countries, the driver and tour guide worked well together. The bus was great. only problem was hearing and finding the water bottles that kept falling on the floor as nowhere to put them. NO pouch or net.

We loved our trip. Three nights in each location worked really well. Each location was fabulous and different. Would highly recommend Victoria Falls, safari's at Ivory Tree Game Lodge, the Rovos Luxury Train and Cape Town.

Ultimate African Adventure

This Tour was unforgettable & exceeded my expectations. It was my childhood dream to visit and experience Africa & I could not have asked for more. I have only recently returned, so everything is still fresh in my mind. My highlights start with the crew & the camaraderie of our group. Goodness was our tour guide & from the beginning to the end she looked after us with love, care & humour. She gave us clear daily activity information always delivered with a smile, and she was a magnificent cook! There was always a plentiful supply. We loved her quirky ways & her laughter. Thank you, Goodness, you are missed. Our driver, Vince, drove us safely to each accommodation, often hundreds of kilometres of rough roads. He always had a beaming smile & a laugh and was a great dancer! Thank you, Vince. Z was the assistant and we loved his cheeky smile & ‘high 5s’. He was always ready with his arm to help the ‘oldies’ out of the bus. Z was very knowledgeable about any topic relating to the tour and he was a terrific helper in the kitchen. Thank you, Z, may you be successful with your training. Now, for our wonderful group. From strangers to friends, we shared each experience with excitement & awe. We helped eachother when help was needed, we shared in the meal prep & wash up with good humour. It was all a pleasure not a task. We laughed over the road rutting & humps! It’s so good when community can come together & take care of eachother. We were an older demographic so we became aware of each other’s needs. I miss you all! Tour highlights - Fish River Canyon, Dune 45, the local guides - eg Naukluft National Park , the Quiver Tree Forest, Etosha Game Drive, Chobe Game Drive, cruises, canoeing, glamping, flight over Victoria Falls, sunrises & sunsets, being serenaded - beautiful! Witnessing a leopard & lioness up close - wonderful! Some suggestions for improvement: -My only suggestion re the itinerary is a 2 night stay particularly on Day 12 ( Etosha National Park - Kavango River). A long drive then another long one the next day. Time for a bit of rest for both crew & clients. Sometimes we’d arrive at accommodation in the dark but given the activities & long kms I guess this is unavoidable. I’m also not sure that the trip to the hot springs in Ai-Ais in Namibia was necessary on a busy day. - Accomodation. Excellent. Some could be tweaked a little & checking in could be slow, but I was v happy with it overall. - Pre departure information Excellent. ( Is it possible in the brochure we were sent to give a clearer instruction about luggage - that it wasn’t going into separate individual compartments, rather one big storage area. I had worried a lot that my rather bulging wheelie case wasn’t going to fit!).

Good airlines selection, the hotel rooms are clean and spacious, tour guides are friendly and funny. We've arrived the hotel on day 2 at 1:20 am and we've to leave the hotel at 8 am, this schedule could be improved in the future.

The whole trip was amazing. Everything we could have hoped to see. Our guide, Mustafa, was incredible the way he looked after us, so knowledgeable, had obvious empathy for the children in the street wherever we went, and, went above and beyond to assist one of our group when she had to go to hospital. We cannot speak highly enough of his role.

Total holiday was great. Deny the local guide made it most enjoyable. Only improvement would be to have two whole days at Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort.

We were fortunate to have an excellent Tour Guide in Kurt, and driver Kardi. Kurt was courteous, caring and his local knowledge of all the selected sights and of Borneo, in general, was well delivered with a great sense of humour. Overall the whole package was well organised and while, with 28 people in the group, the folks were a happy bunch that engaged and interacted with each other. A highlight for us was the optional extra village farm visit to Kilulu. With just two of us and Kurt. Our guide, Lyn, walked us through a rubber plantation and paddy fields where we met a lovely 94 year old lady working her paddy fields and some sleepy water buffalos. This visit was special - we were treated to a welcoming and farewell song and dance routine performed by local students. Then, a wonderfully prepared dinner and an opportunity to get hands on with the stir fry. This was our first TripAdeal and we hope to sign-up for more tours.

Loved the Tours. Our amazing Guide Sunny looked after us so well. Very informative and knowledgeable. We saw so many amazing things. I was very impressed with the Itinerary on this Trip. India was such an interesting and colourful place to visit. This Tour really captured the History and vibrant colour of this place. We are so glad we extended our Tour to include Varanasi , as this was probably my favourite place.

We loved the itinerary for this trip, our tour guide Kara Franklin was so friendly and really took care of all our needs. Our Driver Nathan was very knowledgeable and knew a lot about Canada, Him and Kara worked well together. The bus was always kept clean as well. The only thing was one of the first hotels didnt have a lift which made it hard carrying our luggage's up. Most hotels were clean and comfortable. I felt we saw so much of Yellowstone, Canada and Alaska . Maybe some of the stops were a bit rushed, but I realise we had a lot of Km's we had to cover. Overall we loved the trip and our group was fantastic to travel with. The only thing I didn't like was the 7 hr wait at LAX airport before getting on to our 15hr flight home to Sydney.

5-Star African Safari

The trip was so smooth and well organised with the exception of the hotel in Johannesburg which had changed names (Raddison to Destiny) and did not manage the transfer process well (making us wait for some hours to access our rooms). This was not Trip a Deal's fault I don't believe as the rest of the trip was perfect. Sebatana game reserve was a perfect place to base, and the staff and facilities (with the exception of internet access) was exceptional. Food was amazing, program was great. We did miss seeing some of the Big 5, but that was just bad luck - they are wild animals when all said and done. Loved the experience so much we are already planning a return visit. Outstanding tour guides! Forest and Jojo were so helpful and informative. We couldn’t ask for better guides. The accommodation was a real surprise- large luxurious rooms with comfy beds. Breakfast buffets were all a bit different and we really loved trying different foods. Although there were also western options. Coffee was good and service amazing. We loved the food and there were opportunities to try authentic meals and treats. I would have liked a tour of the silk factory and pearl farm - rather than just the shops & education museum or table set up. There were opportunities to purchase things and some were a little too pushy - but it’s understandable. Didn’t get seats together on our flights - not great for a 10hour flight. Overall, we would recommend this trip. Exceeded our expectations- such good value!
