Other important information

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Hong Kong
October in Hong Kong generally marks a delightful transition into autumn, offering some of the most pleasant weather of the year with comfortable temperatures and a noticeable decrease in humidity and rainfall compared to the summer months. The average daily temperatures range between a high of 28°C and a low of around 23°C, making for very warm days perfect for sightseeing and mild, pleasant evenings that typically require only light clothing, perhaps with a sweater for cooler times. The weather is usually characterized by more clear skies and sunshine, and the chance of a rainy day is significantly lower, making it an excellent time to visit.

Vietnam
The weather across Vietnam in November is highly varied, as the country is split into three distinct climatic zones: Ha Long Bay (North) is transitioning into its dry winter with average highs around 27°C and lows around 17°C, offering clearer skies and excellent cruising conditions. Da Nang (Central) is in the middle of its wet season, meaning it experiences high rainfall and humidity, although temperatures are warm with average highs near 25°C and lows around 21°C. Finally, Ho Chi Minh City (South) is entering its prime dry season, delivering the best conditions with consistently warm, sunny, and dry weather, where daily temperatures typically range from a low of 23°C.

Thailand
November in Thailand marks the beginning of the highly sought-after cool and dry season for much of the country, but the weather differs dramatically between Bangkok and Ko Samui; in Bangkok, you can expect near-ideal conditions as the main rainy season ends, with high temperatures averaging around 32°C and comfortable lows near 23°C, accompanied by significantly lower humidity and minimal rainfall, making it perfect for city exploration. Conversely, Ko Samui (and the Gulf Coast islands) is in the middle of its own separate, secondary wet season during November, making it statistically the island's rainiest month, with average highs around 29°C and lows near 24°C but with a high chance of heavy, sometimes prolonged rainfall and rougher seas.

Singapore
Singapore's climate in November is characterised by its perpetually hot, humid, and rainy equatorial weather, as this month marks the beginning of the pre-Northeast Monsoon season and is typically one of the wettest periods of the year. You can expect very little temperature variation, with average high temperatures near 30°C and warm overnight lows around 24°C, combined with high humidity that makes it feel even warmer. The rainfall is heavy and frequent, though it usually comes in the form of short, intense tropical downpours or thunderstorms, often occurring in the late afternoon or early evening, which means outdoor activities are best planned for the mornings.

Visas

Vietnam
Australian passport holders are eligible to apply online for a single entry electronic visa (e-visa), valid for up to a maximum of 90 days.

Lodge your application online (for a non-refundable fee) with the Vietnamese National Web Portal of Immigration https://www.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/. You will be given a unique code to track your visa application status. Once your visa is granted, you must print it out and present it at check in. Keep this e-visa print out with you at all times during your travel in Vietnam.

Some private online visa services and travel agents have scammed travellers or been involved in the public disclosure of the personal information of applicants for visas and 'visa issued on arrival' approval letters. To avoid such scams, only use official Government of Vietnam services to arrange your visa. Visa and other entry and exit conditions (such as currency, customs and quarantine regulations) change regularly. Contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam for up-to-date information.

Thailand
Australian passport holders are Visa exempt for a stay of up to 60 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page. You must complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within three days before arriving in Thailand. The TDAC is free and must be submitted online through the Thailand Immigration Bureau website. Beware of fake websites charging you a fee for the TDAC.

Singapore
Australian passport holders are Visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page. You must complete the electronic Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) within three days before arrival. It is free and must be submitted online via the official ICA website.

Hong Kong
Australian passport holders are Visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
