Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 20:00

Day 10 Mo'orea, French Polynesia

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 20:00

Mo'orea is the picture-perfect vision of an ideal island paradise. Formed by volcanic activity, this heart-shaped island with beaches that look out to the brightest blue waters you can imagine, is hidden a few short miles off the Tahiti mainland. Keep your camera handy because the soaring green peaks of the mountains are also the stuff of legend.

With time at leisure, you could head to Tiki Village to experience a traditional Polynesian dance or hike up to Belvedere Lookout for views of the famous Cook's Bay and volcanic Mount Tohivea. You might like to go snorkelling in the lagoon at Opunohu Bay or check out the Mo'orea Dolphin Center to get up close and personal with one of nature's most intelligent sea creatures (charges may apply).

Day 11 Raiatea, French Polynesia

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 20:00

Traditionally known as ancient Havai'i, Raiatea is the sacred island at the centre of the Polynesian Triangle, the ancestral home that reached out to the islands of Hawaii and New Zealand. Along its eastern coastline is the ceremonial site of Marae Taputapuatea, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where ancient Polynesians held rituals for their gods and sought safety for their seafarers. Today, Marae Taputapuatea is still used as a sacred departure point for voyagers crossing to other Pacific Islands in outrigger canoes.

Bring your camera as you experience emerald peaks rise with tropical flowers, fruit trees, taro plantations and wild foliage, alongside freshwater streams and the roar of waterfalls. With few beaches on the main island, the lush shoreline of Raiatea cedes to a vibrant lagoon hosting every shade of blue and coral reefs rife with marine life. Reef sharks, rays and turtles cruise through its waters.

Surrounding the main island are motu, tiny islets of palm trees ringed by white sand beaches, easily reached on a lagoon tour (not included). Cruises to Raiatea, French Polynesia set you up for an incredible day trip to the sister island of Taha'a, where life moves slowly amidst the vanilla farms tucked in the foothills of the island's rolling hills (not included).

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Other important information

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Hawaii
In April and October, both Honolulu and Kona experience warm, tropical weather. Temperatures are consistently high, with average highs for both cities typically ranging from 29°C to 31°C, and lows hovering around 23°C to 25°C. Hawaii's "dry season" generally runs from May to October, meaning you can expect plenty of sunshine. However, while Kona on the Big Island is known for its relatively dry climate, Honolulu on Oahu can receive some rain, especially in the form of brief, localized showers. Despite this, the overall weather in both locations is perfect for a beach vacation, with high temperatures and low humidity being the norm.

New Zealand
In both Tauranga and the Bay of Islands, April and October mark the transition between seasons, offering pleasant but variable weather. April, being in the autumn, sees average high temperatures in the Bay of Islands around 16°C, but they can reach up to 21°C on warmer days, with lows around 11°C. October, as spring begins, sees a gradual warming. For both locations, you can expect mild days and cooler nights, so it's best to pack layers. While the days are often sunny, especially in October as the weather becomes more stable, there is still a chance of rain in both months as they are part of the wetter periods of the year.

French Polynesia
In Papeete, Moorea, and Raiatea, which are all part of the Society Islands in French Polynesia, April and October fall within the "dry season" or austral winter, making them excellent times to visit, with April being at the end of the rain season so slightly more humid. You can expect very pleasant weather with lower humidity compared to the wet season. Average daytime temperatures typically range from 24°C to 28°C, with nights being slightly cooler, dropping to around 22°C to 24°C. While rain is less frequent, you should still anticipate the occasional brief, tropical shower. May marks the beginning of this dry period, with conditions becoming increasingly less humid, while October is at the tail end, with a slight increase in humidity and chance of rain as the wet season approaches.
