What is the difference between a Cruise Package and a Cruise Only holiday? A Cruise Package typically bundles the cruise itself with flights, accommodation, land activities and other extras. This option is perfect for those who prefer convenience and one simple booking.
A Cruise Only holiday includes the cruise component only. This gives you the flexibility to customise the other elements of your adventure according to your own exact needs.
What should I consider when deciding between a Cruise Package and a Cruise Only holiday? If you need flexibility before and after your cruise, a Cruise Only holiday provides that. Prefer to have flights and accommodation arranged? A Cruise Package offers peace of mind with all of the legwork taken care of.
Can I customise Cruise Only to fit my needs? Yes, a Cruise Only holiday gives you the advantage of being able to choose your cabin location and number. This flexibility allows you to select a cabin that best suits your preferences whether you prefer an ocean view cabin, proximity to certain amenities or a specific deck level.
Can I choose my cabin location?Yes, for a small fee we can generally customise your booking to accommodate your requests, subject to availability. Please reach out to our friendly team on 135 777. When you choose a Cruise Only holiday, you may be able to choose your specific cabin number. If you select a Guarantee cabin, the cruise line will choose the cabin for you before you set sail.
What are the available cabin types that I can choose from when booking?
Interior Cabins
These don’t have a window or balcony. For this reason, they are usually the cheapest
option and are a great choice if you plan to spend most of your time exploring the
ship.
Oceanview Cabins
These offer a round porthole or a picture window, ideal for letting in the natural
light and spotting new destinations outside your window.
Balcony Cabins
Allow you to step out onto a private balcony and take in the ocean views or arrival
into a new port.
Suite Cabins
Are generally larger than standard balcony cabins and offer a sofa or lounge for
relaxing. Additional benefits may include exclusive dining and access to relaxation
areas.
French Balcony Cabins
Are available on river cruises and offer a window or door that can open to a railing
directly outside the cabin. This provides a better viewing vantage point although you
cannot step out onto a French balcony.
Are all the restaurants onboard included in my cruise fare? The majority of cruise lines will offer a set number of restaurants that are included in your cruise fare. There may be specialty restaurants onboard that will incur an additional surcharge to dine at. These charges will be added to your onboard account to pay at the end of your cruise. You can find out more information by checking the cruise line’s website.
What additional costs will there be once onboard? Extras may include your bar bill, spa treatments, shore excursions booked onboard, anything purchased in the shops, speciality restaurant fees and gratuities.
Will the cruise line offer kids clubs?Cruise lines have varying policies and activities for children. Major ocean cruise lines are often family-oriented and provide kids clubs included in your cruise fare. It’s advisable to book your child’s spot early. In contrast, smaller cruise lines and expedition cruises generally do not offer kids clubs. If you're uncertain about the availability of this service on a particular cruise, contact our friendly team before you make a booking.
Is there a medical centre on board if I get sick? All cruise lines have access to a doctor or medical centre onboard. Basic medication (such as paracetamol and anti-nausea tablets) can be expensive onboard, so it’s recommended to have your own basic medical supplies, should you need them.
What kind of entertainment can I expect on my cruise ship? All cruise lines will offer onboard entertainment, varying between the different cruise styles. Larger ocean cruises usually offer Broadway-style shows, onboard casinos, comedy shows, live bands and music nights. River cruises are much smaller in size so they typically offer onboard cultural performances and lectures about the region you’re in. Expedition-style cruises focus more on destination lectures and provide access to science centres to learn about the remote areas you are exploring.
