Every evening, a printed schedule for the next day will be delivered to your stateroom, and it will also fully populate in the Holland America Line Navigator app. Take a quick look over breakfast to highlight what interests you, but remember to leave plenty of time to just sit back, relax and watch the ocean go by.

Day 5 Airlie Beach (Whitsundays), Australia

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 17:00

Airlie Beach is the gateway to the Australia of your dreams. Although the Queensland town offers many delights such as palm-fringed beaches, a huge man-made lagoon and alfresco dining, there’s a great reason to head straight out of town: This is the jumping-off point for the magnificent Whitsundays, a group of 74 islands that are famous for their timeless natural beauty, white-sand beaches and crystal-clear water. Your options here are pretty much limitless.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. While cruise lines strive to provide ease of access, accessibility options can vary at different tender ports. Passengers with mobility concerns are encouraged to inquire about specific arrangements and consider their individual needs when participating in tendering activities.

Surrounded on three sides by the turquoise Timor Sea, the Northern Territory’s capital is closer in both distance and temperament to Southeast Asia than it is to most of Australia’s major cities. Day 13 Benoa (Denpasar), Bali, Indonesia (Overnight)

Arrive: 07:00 - Overnight

Indonesia is made up of more than 13,000 islands, but even with all that competition, Bali manages to stand out. Beautiful temples and shrines of all sizes are spread across the island, tucked down narrow alleyways, hidden within the jungle or serenely presiding over scenic locations, like the dramatic Pura Tanah Lot atop a rock formation just off Bali’s western coast. Your ship docks here overnight so you can explore more of this destination.

Overnight: Holland America's Volendam

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 14 Benoa (Denpasar), Bali, Indonesia

Depart: 16:00

Enjoy a second day at leisure in Bali. Bali is well known for its arts—traditional music and dance, painting, wood and stone carvings, silver jewellery and ikat and batik textiles.

The island’s artistic centre is the village of Ubud, and its art markets and boutiques carry beautiful Balinese pieces to take home. When it comes to dining, whether you’re craving a burrito or satay, you can find a restaurant that serves it. Don’t leave the island, however, without sampling Balinese cuisine.

Local cooking, which reflects Chinese and Indian influences, uses blends of aromatic spices to season grilled meats (though not beef—Bali is an island of Hindu culture in mostly Muslim Indonesia), fresh seafood, rice and vegetables with delicious results.

Overnight: Holland America's Volendam

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 15 Surabaya, Indonesia

Arrive: 10:00 - Depart: 18:00

Indonesia’s second-largest city and Java’s capital, Surabaya is known as the City of Heroes thanks to the important role it played in capturing international attention during the country’s revolution in the 1940s. And that independent spirit is still palpable among the metropolis's internationally diverse population of nearly three million people.

Surabaya is home to Indonesia’s only synagogue as well as the largest mosque in East Java. And colonial-era buildings sit just a short stroll from glitzy new shopping centers. Visitors have much to experience, whether taking in the extensive artifacts in the Museum Mpu Tantular, seeing where Indonesia’s clove cigarettes got their beginnings at the House of Sampoerna or venturing into the city’s green lung with a boat ride through the mangrove forests of Wonorejo. You’ll feel transported to a Middle Eastern bazaar at the Pasar Ampel, where the vendors hawk spices, sticky sweet dates and imported carpets. And a visit to Kenjeran Beach, right in the city, offers the chance to spot fishermen showcasing their fresh catch or take in views of one of Indonesia’s longest bridges.

Overnight: Holland America's Volendam

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 16 Semarang, Java, Indonesia

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 19:00

For most visitors, the biggest thrill about arriving in Semarang is the chance to take a day trip to Borobudur, the Buddhist temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates to the 8th and 9th centuries. But there's plenty to keep you busy in and around the city itself, too. Home to over one million people, Semarang occupies a strategic location on Java's north coast and is among Southeast Asia's most interesting ports.

The city's colourful patchwork of colonial architecture, Chinese temples and striking mosques tells the story of the diverse cultures that wrote Semarang's history and speaks of its present, too. Spend some time strolling the atmospheric Outstadt, the old Dutch quarter. Lined with old Dutch warehouses and town houses, this neighborhood once held its own with Surabaya and Jakarta as one of Dutch Indonesia's most vital trading ports.

Today, almost a third of the city's population is Chinese; you'll find some excellent Chinese food around town as well as important historical sites like Gedung Batu—the city's oldest Chinese temple complex on the outskirts of town—which is well worth a visit.

Day 20 Singapore - Day at Leisure

Enjoy a day at leisure in Singapore.

City-states are rare in the present day - and none are quite like Singapore. In the 20th century, the Southeast Asian nation hurtled itself into the modern world, and it continues to expand its state-of-the-art transportation system and build its edgy skyline. Yet Singapore's urban plan wisely maintained its intimate neighbourhoods, many with streets lined with colourful shophouses (a type of building unique to parts of Asia, with businesses located on their ground floors and residences above). Add the city’s mix of ethnic groups - mainly Malays, Chinese and Indians - and you get a vibrant cultural scene that attracts a cosmopolitan, international community.

Singapore's food scene - which is arguably the world's most dynamic and runs the gamut from beloved street hawkers to Michelin-starred venues - would merit a trip alone, as would its never-ending shopping options.

The city is also packed with world-class museums, many designed by celebrated architects, and it hosts many major international events, such as the Formula One Grand Prix. Yet only about half of the 720-square-kilometre island is developed, which leaves plenty of room for parks and open spaces such as the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, where an old-growth forest still thrives.

Overnight: Copthorne King's Hotel or similar, Singapore

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

While humidity can occasionally spike, coastal breezes keep the climate pleasant, and ocean water temperatures reach their annual peak.

Weather & Climate

Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia

Temperatures remain hot, ranging from overnight lows of 25°C to daytime highs of 33°C. Some remote, off-road areas may be inaccessible due to seasonal flooding.
First Light Travel

Benoa (Denpasar), Surabaya & Semarang, Indonesia
In February the weather is hot and tropical, with average daytime temperatures hovering between 28°C and 31°C and high humidity up to 85%. Singapore
February is historically the driest and sunniest month of the year in Singapore as the northeast monsoon winds begin to wind down. While still tropical and humid, visitors can expect plenty of bright days with average highs of 31°C and comfortable, cooler evening lows of 24°C.

Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.

Please note: It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.

Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Wildlife sighting:
TripADeal cannot guarantee animal sightings on tour. Wildlife are unpredictable and factors such as weather conditions, predatory fear and animal movements can impact sightings.

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

Singapore
Australian passport holders do not require a visa for stays of less than 90 days in Singapore.

All Indonesia Arrival Card
As of 1 September 2025 passengers must complete the All Indonesia Arrival Card. This is free of charge and can be completed online within 72 hours of your departure date. This is in addition to the e-VOA and the Bali Tourism Levy.

e-VOA
A tourist visa will be issued upon arrival if staying less than 30 days if travelling on an Australian passport. A visa fee of IDR 500,000 (approximately AUD $50, subject to change) and it is best to have this amount in cash upon arrival to ensure smooth entry. To avoid the queues at the airport, you can apply in advance (no later than 48 hours prior to travelling to Indonesia). You can apply for an e-Visa on Arrival (e-VOA). Check the e-VOA requirements from Indonesian Immigration before applying.

Bali Tourism Levy
The Bali Provincial Government has introduced a new tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person to foreign tourists entering Bali. The tourist levy is separate from the e-Visa on Arrival or the Visa on Arrival. Cashless payments can be made online prior to travel or on arrival at designated payment counters at Bali's airport and seaport. Exemption from payment of the levy applies to transit passengers and certain visa holders. See the Bali Provincial Government's official website.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.
