Overview

This incredible 20-day journey offers a magnificent Transpacific odyssey aboard the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship, sailing from Sydney to the sun-kissed shores of Hawaii, followed by a relaxing three-night hotel stay in Waikiki.

The adventure begins in Sydney, where you will embark on a 16-night cruise, immediately embracing the laid-back rhythm of life at sea aboard Celebrity Solstice. Highlights include the unique Lawn Club's half an acre of real, freshly manicured grass on the top deck and the serene Solarium (an adults-only indoor pool area). Enjoy three days of cruising before reaching the first exotic destination.

The itinerary features unforgettable calls to the South Pacific’s most dazzling islands. The first port is the captivating Lifou, New Caledonia, where picturesque cliff-top views and rich traditional culture await. This is swiftly followed by two stops in Fiji. Dock in the charming Lautoka known as "Sugar City" and the vibrant capital, Suva, which offers a delightful mix of colonial history and lush rainforests like Colo-i-Suva Forest Park.

The cruise continues across the International Date Line to the Samoan islands. Guests will explore Apia, Samoa, steeped in over 3,000 years of culture, and the utterly beautiful, tranquil villages of Pago Pago, American Samoa. A final stretch of five serene days at sea allows for much-needed rest and indulgence in the ship’s many amenities before the magnificent arrival into Honolulu, Hawaii.

The adventure concludes with an overnight stay in port followed by three full days at leisure in Waikiki, where you will stay at the OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. This provides ample time to soak up the famous Hawaiian hospitality, relax on the stunning beaches, take in the dramatic views of Diamond Head, and sample Hawaii's distinctive regional cuisine before making your way home.

Picturesque cliff-top views, secluded beaches, fascinating caves, and rich traditional culture create a backdrop for a perfect stop.

Please note: This port is accessed by tender boats. Boarding and disembarking tender boats may involve steps and uneven surfaces. If you’re looking to fill a day here, head to the city’s most popular attractions like the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, or venture outside the city limits to the lush rainforest of Koroyanitu National Heritage Park. Of course, Fiji is famous for its beaches, so there’s plenty of sun and sand waiting for you at Natadola Beach or Saweni Beach, just 8 kilometres from the city centre.

Day 7 Suva, Fiji

Arrive: 07:00 - Depart: 18:00

On your arrival to the capital of Fiji, Suva, you'll discover a mix of 21st-century architecture, Art Deco gems, and 19th-century British colonial buildings. Although Suva is built on a peninsula surrounded by ocean, this part of Viti Levu, one of more than 330 Fijian islands, is more mangrove than beach. Suva offers several pleasant parks and gardens near the port. Ratu Sukuna Park offers pretty views of the harbour. Next door is Suva Civic Center, an arts and cultural venue. Historic Albert Park, on coastal Victoria Parade, was the site of the first-ever airplane to land in Fiji. Next door, Thurston Gardens displays botanical specimens in several greenhouses and hiking trails. It's also the site of the Fiji Museum, with archaeological materials going back 3,700 years and cultural objects representing indigenous inhabitants and immigrant communities (entry fees may apply).

Ten minutes up the hills from Suva, serene Colo-i-Suva Forest Park lures residents and guests with clear river waters amid a spectacular rainforest, making it perfect for a cool dip, a bit of bird watching, and a picnic in the shade, with temperatures cooler than the city. The natural beauty will soothe your soul. A hub of entertainment for Oceania, Fiji hosts regional sports and activities in several multipurpose venues. Check Vodafone Arena, ANZ National Stadium, and Albert Park. When it's time to shop for mementos of your Suva cruise, look for Cumming Street, blocks from the port. Colourful colonial buildings feel like you're stepping back in time.

Hungry? Along Victoria Parade you'll find cafes and restaurants, offering from steaks to seafood and more.

Experience bustling seafood markets, swim and snorkel the many scenic beaches and waterfalls. Be sure to take in traditional Samoan song, dance and visit Robert Louis Stevenson’s former home, which is now a popular museum (charges may apply).

Crossing the International Date Line: This evening, as the ship makes its way to Pago Pago, you will cross the international date line. The international date line defines the boundary between two calendar dates so when you travel east, the clocks will be wound back 24 hours and you'll effectively experience the same day twice.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Lifou, New Calendonia
April in Lifou is a lovely transitional month as the weather moves from the hot, wet summer to the cooler, drier winter, offering warm and pleasant conditions for travel. Daytime high temperatures typically settle around 27ºC to 28C, dropping to comfortable nighttime lows of about 21ºC to 22ºC, making for mild evenings. Visitors can expect an average of 7 hours of bright sunshine per day to enjoy the crystal-clear waters, which remain wonderfully warm at around 26ºC to 27ºC for swimming and snorkelling. While rain is still a possibility, with around 100 to 137mm of rainfall expected over the month, it usually occurs in short bursts, meaning the overall heat and humidity begin to moderate.

Fiji
April in Fiji marks the very end of the hot, wet season and is characterised by very warm temperatures, high humidity, and decreasing but still significant rainfall. You can expect average daytime maximum temperatures to be around 29ºC , occasionally feeling hotter due to the high humidity, with minimum temperatures dropping only slightly to a balmy 23ºC overnight. The sea is wonderfully warm, averaging around 28ºC, which is ideal for swimming and water sports. Rainfall is highly variable across the islands, with the western "dry" side (like Nadi and the Mamanuca Islands) seeing less rain 160mm to 200 than the eastern "wet" side (like Suva, which can receive nearly 400mm in April), but showers are generally short, heavy bursts followed by sunshine. Overall, April offers tropical heat and lush, vibrant landscapes, but visitors should be prepared for high humidity and the chance of heavy downpours.

Samoa
April is the final month of the wet season in Samoa, which means the weather remains characteristically hot and very humid, but the rainfall begins to decrease as the islands transition toward the dry season. Average daytime high temperatures hover around 29ºC, while comfortable overnight lows sit at a balmy 24ºC or slightly higher, with the high humidity making the heat feel more intense. The sea temperature is at its peak, averaging a perfect 28ºC for swimming. Although the threat of tropical cyclones officially ends in April, heavy rainfall is still expected, with monthly averages typically ranging around 240mm, usually falling in intense, short downpours rather than all-day rain.

Honolulu
The weather in Honolulu, Hawaii, during April is consistently warm, dry, and highly pleasant, making it an excellent time to visit before the peak heat of summer. Average daytime high temperatures are a very comfortable 26ºC, while evening temperatures remain mild, rarely dropping below 21ºC. April is generally considered one of the drier months in Honolulu, with low average monthly rainfall, often less than 50mm, typically falling in short, isolated showers that rarely interrupt outdoor plans. The water temperature is perfect for swimming, averaging a lovely 24ºC, and with around 8 hours of sunshine per day, conditions are ideal for enjoying Waikiki Beach and other outdoor activities.

Please note: Some areas may be inaccessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters, with personal walking sticks and other aids required should they be needed. Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.
Please note: It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.
Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.
