We strongly advise against booking any pre or post-tour travel arrangements/accommodation until TripADeal confirms your flight details. If you choose to book before confirmation, we recommend opting for refundable reservations or having backup plans in case the tour does not proceed.
Internal Flights: If you select to Arrive Early or Stay Behind into a city other than the one where the tour begins or concludes (where applicable), the package will include an internal flight to your destination. This offer applies only to the cities listed in our Arrive Early & Stay Behind Options. If you wish to forfeit this flight, please advise our friendly team at the time of purchase. Please note that the package's cost does not change when you choose to forfeit your connecting flight.
Please note: If you request to fly into cities not listed in our "Arrive Early & Stay Behind Options", we may be able to customise your itinerary. If possible, the flight's cost will be charged as an extra.
Cancellations & Changes: Flight booking changes or cancellations after air tickets have been issued are not guaranteed and may incur additional fees and fare difference, subject to the airline cancellation and change policies. Flight changes are subject to availability at the time of booking.
High-Season: A high-season Arrive Early or Stay Behind can be purchased for an additional charge, subject to availability. For pricing, please refer to the cart.
+ 60 days: You can fly out up to 60 days before your package’s start date, and/or return home 60 days after your package's end date. Should you wish to fly out or return home for more than 60 days from the tour, please contact us to request availability. Additional costs may apply.
Estimated dates: Your estimated departure, return, and arrival dates are all subject to availability and may vary. The confirmed schedule for all flights will be provided when you receive your flight tickets.

Other important information

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Hong Kong
In December and January, Hong Kong experiences its winter, which is generally mild, dry, and very pleasant. This is the coolest and least humid time of the year, with average daily temperatures around 18°C, highs reaching about 20°C, and lows dropping to 15°C. Rainfall is minimal, resulting in many clear, sunny days perfect for hiking and exploring the city without the intense heat of other seasons. However, it's wise to pack layers, including a jacket or sweater, as evenings and occasional cold fronts can be quite cool.

Vietnam
In December and January, the weather across Vietnam remains highly varied by region, marking the peak of the tourist season in both the north and south. In the north, including Hanoi and Ha Long Bay, it is the middle of a pleasant and dry winter. Expect clear skies, but average temperatures can drop to around 17°C, with cooler evenings and mornings, so packing warm layers is essential. In contrast, Central Vietnam, including Da Nang and Hoi An, is transitioning out of its rainy season. While December can still see significant rainfall, conditions improve through January with less rain and more sunshine. Meanwhile, the south, including Phu My and Ho Chi Minh City, is in its prime dry season, offering hot, sunny days, low humidity, and low rainfall. Average temperatures range from 23°C to 32°C, creating perfect conditions for travel.

Thailand
In December and January, much of Thailand enjoys its peak dry season, offering some of the best weather of the year, though conditions differ on the Gulf Coast. In Bangkok and Laem Chabang, the north, and on the Andaman coast (including Phuket and Krabi), the weather is fantastic. Expect comfortable temperatures with low humidity and plenty of sunshine, with average highs around 31°C. In contrast, the Gulf of Thailand coast (including Koh Samui) is coming to the end of its monsoon season. December can still see notable rainfall, but conditions improve significantly as January progresses, with less rain and more sunshine.

Singapore
In December and January, Singapore is deep into its wettest period, the peak of the Northeast Monsoon season. December is often the rainiest month of the year, with January following closely behind. Visitors should expect frequent and heavy afternoon thunderstorms, though there are still periods of sunshine. Despite the rain, temperatures remain consistently hot and humidity is at its highest, with average highs around 30°C and lows of about 24°C. While outdoor plans can be disrupted, this is an excellent time to explore Singapore's world-class indoor attractions

We always suggest referring to an online source for the most up-to-date weather information for your destination/s.

Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points:
We do not arrange seat selection. It is essential to highlight that some airlines do not allow pre-selected seats. Meal options and availability differ between airlines and routes therefore not all dietary requests can be accommodated. If your flight includes meals we will select the most suitable option available based on the dietary requirements you have specified. All meal requests are subject to airline approval and are not guaranteed, therefore we recommend preparing for your flight by bringing appropriate food for yourself, as required.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar Upgrade will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

TripADeal cannot guarantee animal sightings on tour. Wildlife are unpredictable and factors such as weather conditions, predatory fear and animal movements can impact sightings.

Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

Hong Kong
Australian passport holders are visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with two blank visa pages.

Vietnam
Australian passport holders are eligible to apply online for a single or multi entry electronic visa (e-visa), valid for up to a maximum of 90 days.

Lodge your application online (for a non-refundable fee) with the Vietnamese National Web Portal of Immigration https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/. You will be given a unique code to track your visa application status. Once your visa is granted, you must print it out and present it at check in. Keep this e-visa print out with you at all times during your travel in Vietnam.

Some private online visa services and travel agents have scammed travellers or been involved in the public disclosure of the personal information of applicants for visas and 'visa issued on arrival' approval letters. To avoid such scams, only use official Government of Vietnam services to arrange your visa. Visa and other entry and exit conditions (such as currency, customs and quarantine regulations) change regularly. Contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam for up-to-date information.

Thailand
Australian passport holders can get a visa exemption for up to 60 days on arrival in Thailand for tourism. Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months before entering Thailand. From the 1 May 2025, all Australians will be required to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online prior to arrival. Travellers must register online within 3 days prior to arriving in Thailand. They can do so via this link: https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home

Singapore
Australian passport holders are Visa exempt for a stay of up to 90 days. The traveller must hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page.

Philippines
You are permitted to enter the Philippines without a visa for a stay period of 30 days or less provided that you meet all of the requirements. Failure to meet entry requirements may result in you being denied entry to the Philippines and detained until the next available flight to your port of departure or Australia, at your own expense. All arriving passengers must register via the official, unified eTravel platform within 72 hours prior to landing or disembarking in the Philippines. A physical or digital copy of the generated QR code must be presented at border control.

See the following links for the latest information:
• Philippine Embassy in Australia
• Philippines Bureau of Immigration
• Philippines Tourism

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected. For more information or advice visit https://www.tripadeal.com.au/travel-insurance
