Day 5 Santorini, Greece

Arrive: 08:00 - Depart: 19:00

Santorini is the quintessential travel destination that is on every “List of Places to Visit” for good reason.

Every corner in Santorini can transform even the cloudiest of days into one of magnificent colour. Every meal will leave you reminding yourself to look up how to cook Santorinian food when you arrive home, and every detail of the natural world surrounding you will provide you with a sense of gratitude to yourself for travelling there.

While it is one of the most-visited islands of the world, there are still plenty of hideaways waiting to surprise you. Private wineries a short distance from the crowds offer their own unique history, one you can enjoy while tasting the very thing that’s made them iconic for so long. You’ll feel like you’ve entered another dimension as you pass through ancient shrines and burial sites first before taking a stroll through Cycladean villages that will acquaint you with the local surroundings.

Overnight: Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 6 Chania (Souda Bay), Crete, Greece

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 17:00

At the top of the marquis in Greek mythology stands the iconic Zeus. The history of one of the most legendary figures of all time begins with his birthplace, the island of Crete. Although shrouded in mystery, recorded details indicate the real historical events that took place on this island and its surrounding seas are just as, if not more, exciting than any fabricated story.

Chania - the gateway into Crete, exudes remnants of both the Byzantine and Hellenistic-Roman periods through its harbor and narrow streets, while relics from the Turkish occupation seem to shine in neighborhoods such as Koum Kapi and Halepa. Start your journey under the large covered agora (traditional market) in Market Square where you’ll find everything from fruits and vegetables, spices, local meats, homemade cheeses, and olive-ously – olives. If food is your spiritual system, go on a pilgrimage to the epicenter of olive divination in the nearby village of Ano Vouves, where the world’s oldest olive tree is still producing its sacred fruit.

Overnight: Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 7 Kusadasi (Ephesus), Türkiye

Arrive: 09:00 - Depart: 18:00

With an average of 300 perfect weather days per year, crystalline ocean waters and white sand beaches, Kusadasi is renowned for its breathtaking geographical location. However, its proximity to a litany of paramount historically-rich sites, such as the ancient city of Ephesus, the impressive Temple of Artemis, the quaint white homes and bustling tiny bazaar of Sirince Village, the inspiring House of the Virgin Mary and many more, makes Kusadasi unlike anywhere else on the planet.

Overnight: Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady

With each moment carefully curated, Virgin Voyages redefines the cruise experience for adults, promising a journey filled with joy, adventure and responsible luxury. Relax in one of the poolside lounges, explore the immersive art gallery, or indulge in delicious cuisine at more than 20 complimentary eateries, featuring menus curated by Michelin-starred chefs. Why not treat yourself to an afternoon of relaxation at Redemption Spa (additional charge), or if you’re feeling active, why not join a complimentary group fitness class as you cruise toward your next destination.

Conclude your day with live entertainment at the Manor, an enticing venue hosting captivating shows without an added cost. Alternatively, dance the night away at The Red Room or savour a nightcap under the stars at The Dock. On Scarlet Lady, there is something for everyone. Travel beyond the Mykonos that you’ve seen on your screen and lose yourself within the labyrinth of whitewashed building lined streets – highlighted, of course, by blue, green or red doors and handrails. Beauty is synonymous with Mykonos, and the only thing more beautiful than its aesthetic is its people and its acclaimed nightlife.

Your ship docks in Mykonos overnight so take you time to explore this iconic Greek island and perhaps enjoy some nightlife with no pressure to rush back to the ship.

Day 10 Mykonos, Greece

Overnight - Depart: 14:00

Less than a century ago, Mykonos was well-known mostly as a trading port and the site of a slew of historic wars, including the battle between Zeus and the Titans. The 1950s entered into an era where artists, bohemians and chic jet setters started flocking to the island’s white sand beaches. With an average of over 300 sunny days a year, it’s an obvious utopian isle for travellers looking to indulge. Spend the day laying in the sun, wander the bar-lined cobblestone streets of Little Venice on foot, or indulge in some of the best food Greece has to offer – no matter how you choose to enjoy your time in Mykonos, you’re sure to leave with some lasting memories.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Greece
In Greece, May and October serve as the "sweet spots" for travel, offering mild temperatures far more comfortable for exploring than the mid-summer heat. In May, you can expect average highs of 21°C to 24°C across Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini, with Crete often reaching a slightly warmer 25°C; it is a lush, sunny month with long days and refreshing evenings around 12°C to 15°C. October mirrors these temperatures with highs of 22°C to 24°C, though the sea remains significantly warmer (around 22°C) than in May, making it ideal for swimming in the islands. While Athens stays pleasantly warm for sightseeing, the end of October can bring more frequent breezes and the occasional autumn shower, with nighttime lows dipping to 15°C in the islands and 11°C in the capital.

Türkiye
In Kusadası, the weather follows a similar Mediterranean pattern to the Greek Islands but often feels a touch warmer due to its position on the Anatolian coast. In May, you’ll enjoy a fresh, spring-like warmth with average highs of 24°C to 26°C and plenty of sunshine, though the Aegean Sea is still quite brisk at around 19°C. Conversely, October is widely considered the "golden month" for the region; while daytime air temperatures are nearly identical to May (ranging from 23°C to 25°C), the sea has spent all summer heating up and remains a much more swimmable 22°C. Evening temperatures in both months are crisp, typically hovering around 13°C to 15°C, so while you can comfortably explore the ruins of nearby Ephesus in a t-shirt during the day, you'll certainly want a light jacket for dinner by the marina.

Weather
We always suggest referring to an online source for the most up-to-date weather information for your destination/s.

You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on tour. You must carry your own luggage from the vehicle to the hotel room and back to the vehicle. The driver will assist with the uploading and unloading of bags from the vehicle.

OTHER
Mobility:
If you require wheelchair access please contact our friendly sales and service team to inquire on your behalf.

Fitness Level Required:
Adventure (and spontaneity) create some of the best travel memories. Bear in mind, your home schedules and timings might not be adhered to on tour - it's all part of the fun!

A relaxed level of fitness will be required.
Expect a comfortable pace of touring with a focus on leisure time and gentle activity. This may include city tours, the ability to walk up and down small flights of stairs and gentle slopes. You will be responsible for your own luggage and have the ability to board all modes of transport without assistance. Please note: Some areas may be inaccessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters, with personal walking sticks and other aids required should they be needed. Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.

Please note: It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.

Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival. You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Wildlife sighting:
TripADeal cannot guarantee animal sightings on tour. Wildlife are unpredictable and factors such as weather conditions, predatory fear and animal movements can impact sightings.

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts. Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

Europe (Shengen Visa Countries):
A tourist visa is not required for Europe for stays up to 90 days if travelling on an Australian passport.

Türkiye
According to the Law on Foreigners and International Protection which entered into force on 11th April 2014, those foreigners who arrive at sea ports and intend to visit the seaport city or nearby provinces for touristic purpose are exempt from visa provided that their stay does not exceed 72 hours.

European Union Entry/Exit System (EES)
From October 12, 2025, a new European Entry System (EES) replaced the manual passport-stamping process for non-EU travellers. Upon arrival in the Schengen area, Australian and New Zealand passport holders will have their fingerprints recorded and a photograph taken. Their entry and exit dates will be electronically registered. No previous action is required, but please be aware of longer wait times at border entry. From 10 April 2026, the EES will be fully operational at all external border crossing points of all the European countries (Schengen area) using the system.

European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS)
As an extension of the EES implementation introduced in 2025, ETIAS travel authorisation is a mandatory entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries, including Australian and New Zealand citizens, that will be introduced in 2026. We advise you to monitor smartraveller.gov.au closer to your departure to ensure you are up to date on the requirements at the time of entry.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
