You'll sail beyond the Inside Passage into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage in southeastern Alaska. This complex labyrinth of fjords, bays, and lush green islands is home to an abundance of wildlife, including orca, mountain goats, bald eagles, bears, puffins, sea otters and much more.

During the summer months, the long hours of daylight allow for ample opportunities for nature photos on your Inside Passage Cruise. You'll never forget the sight of 40-ton whales hurling themselves into the air, almost completely escaping the water. If you're especially lucky, you could see them swimming together to create a bubble net, trapping and eating fish by the giant mouthful.

Overnight: Celebrity Cruises - Celebrity Solstice

Day 6 Icy Strait Point, Alaska, USA

Arrive: 13:30 - Depart: 21:00

For thousands of years, the Tlingit Indians have called this place home. Located near the city of Hoonah, and home to a historic cannery, Icy Strait Point also offers travelers the chance to view wildlife like humpback whales, orcas, seals, eagles, and brown bears, or to explore monuments to the region's fishing heritage.

Overnight: Celebrity Cruises - Celebrity Solstice

Day 7 Hubbard Glacier (Scenic Cruising)

The Hubbard Glacier is located about 48 kilometres north off the coast of Yakutat and is by far one of Alaska’s most exciting natural treasures. On your cruise to Hubbard Glacier, enjoy incredible picture-perfect views of this glorious mount of ice from about every angle on your ship. Named after Gardiner Hubbard, the founder and president of the National Geographic Society, Hubbard Glacier is the longest tidewater glacier in the world. Dramatically massive at about 11 kilometres wide, 122 kilometres long and as tall as a 30-story building above the waterline, it’s the largest river of ice in North America. How this magnificent block came to form begins about 400 years ago from the snowfalls on the slopes of Mount Logan. While most of the world’s glaciers are retreating, the Hubbard Glacier has continued to thicken over the years and on rare occasion will partially block Russell Fjord, temporarily damming its passage.

Cruise Hubbard Glacier and experience the wilds of Alaska as your ship makes its way through icy waters turning from Yakutat Bay into the narrow Disenchantment Bay to come face-to-face with the towering Hubbard Glacier. The strong currents and riptides that flow between Gilbert Point and the face of the glacier cause calving to occur on daily basis, sending massive chunks of ice crashing into Disenchantment Bay. Witness this awe-inspiring phenomenon onboard a Hubbard Glacier cruise through the misty, chilled air of the Gulf of Alaska. Our dedicated onboard naturalist narrates the experience and keeps an eye out for the whales, harbor seals, and otters that hunt and play in the waters of Yakutat Bay. It’s an adventure of a lifetime.

Overnight: Celebrity Cruises - Celebrity Solstice

Meals included: Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner

Day 8 Juneau, Alaska, USA

Arrive: 07:30 - Depart: 19:00

Cruise to Juneau to visit the most remote, beautiful, and strangest state capital in the United States. The sleepy, misty city of around 32,000 has a frontier town atmosphere but welcomes more than a million visitors each summer to its natural attractions. Surrounded by water, forest and mountains, visitors can hike a glacier, eat fresh-caught fish on a seaside patio and tour a grand capitol building all in one day (optional shore excursions).

The real highlight of visiting Juneau is tracking down wildlife. Hike up Mount Roberts to chance upon wild deer and bald eagles, or head north to Auke Bay for a whale-watching tour. If you prefer land mammals, catch a floatplane to nearby Chichagof or Admiralty Island wildlife reserves to spy bears lolling around (Optional shore excursions).

Known as the 'Salmon Capital of the World', Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit people, who have carved the world's largest collection of totem poles. If you're up for an adventure, take a canoe and nature trail excursion through the rain forest or a wilderness exploration followed by a sumptuous crab feast you'll long remember.

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Vancouver
Vancouver's weather from April to September experiences a delightful transition from spring showers to warm, drier summers, and then a return to cooler, wetter conditions. In April, temperatures are mild, averaging around 9-12°C during the day and 5-6°C at night, though it can still be quite rainy with around 70-100 mm of precipitation. By May, spring fully blossoms, bringing warmer highs of 13-17°C and lows of 8-9°C, with rainfall significantly decreasing. June, July, and August constitute Vancouver's true summer, offering the warmest and driest weather; daytime highs typically range from 20-22°C, and can occasionally reach higher, while nights remain comfortable at 11-15°C. These months are notably drier, especially July and August, which average only 17-41 mm of rain. As September arrives, temperatures begin to cool again, with highs around 15-19°C and lows of 10-12°C, and rainfall starts to increase, marking the approach of the wetter fall season. Overall, this period is generally very pleasant, with the summer months being particularly ideal for outdoor activities.

Alaska
Alaska's weather from April to September transitions from chilly spring to mild summer and then to a cooler, wetter autumn. In April, temperatures are still quite cold, averaging around 1°C during the day and dropping to about -7°C at night, with some precipitation that can still be snow or sleet. By May, spring is more established, with temperatures warming to 4°C to 13°C, and it's often the driest month. June, July, and August bring the warmest temperatures, with daytime highs typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C in coastal and southcentral areas, though interior regions like Fairbanks can see highs reach 27°C or even 33°C. Nights during summer remain cool, often between 5°C and 10°C. As the season progresses into August and September, temperatures gradually cool, with September seeing average highs of 10°C to 13°C and lows around 5°C. September also marks a transition to a much wetter period, particularly in the coastal regions, and the first signs of snow on mountain peaks. Throughout this period, daylight hours are extensive, especially in June and July, offering nearly 24 hours of daylight in some northern areas.

Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

Canada
Australian and New Zealand passport holders must apply for an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) before travelling to Canada by air. An Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals travelling to Canada by air. An eTA is electronically linked to a traveller’s passport. It is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. If you get a new passport, you need to get a new eTA.

United States of America
Australian passport holders must obtain an ESTA visa waiver in order to enter or transit in the United States.
Please note: You may be required to obtain a visa if you do not meet the eligibility requirements of the ESTA program. Please see https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov for full eligibility requirements and applications.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.

Travel insurance

Embarking on your next trip is exciting, and while you hope the unexpected does not happen, it is best to be prepared. We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance when making your booking. Whether it’s a potential medical emergency, a flight cancellation, a delayed suitcase, or an unforeseen event, it's important to ensure you're adequately protected.
