“It’s just been gobsmacking!”

Follow TripADeal customer Sue Cooper on a life-changing trip to India.
Just because your comfort zone is warm and familiar, like a morning cup of tea, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s your friend. No, your comfort zone will do whatever it takes to keep you lounging around, content and complacent, because it ceases to exist without you. Take note that comfort zones are never very big, which is why staying inside them – while cozy and comfortable – means being doomed to a tiny life and there’s nothing sadder than that. Feel like you might be trapped inside yours, unable or unwilling to break free from its velvety tentacles? Watch the video above (or read the story below) and see what happened when TripADeal customer Sue Cooper went way outside hers.

“My sister was reading the Sunday paper, thought what a great price the trip was, and asked me to go.

India was never anywhere I wanted to go, because I thought it would be too crowded, too busy, too noisy, and I did say no. Then I thought, ‘No, I’m going’ and I’m really grateful I did.

Going to the Taj was just… you can’t describe it. You’re just walking around going, ‘I can’t believe I’m here!”

Our group gets along so well. We’ve had lots of laughs. You can be stupid. Someone’s brought along a tape of old songs. I’ve been singing Beach Boys songs!

Everywhere you go, even just riding around in the bus, and seeing the way people live – it’s totally different to where we come from and it’s amazing.

I think you get to the stage in your life and you just don’t know how much longer you have got left. While you’re healthy, you get out there. You’ve just got to get out there. I mean, we hear about these places; it’s great to be in them.

I think a tour is a good way of travelling, especially someone like me, who hasn’t got a husband. It’s easy – you just pay your money, you turn up, and you have a great time.

This has been probably the best trip I’ve ever done, because it’s so far out of my comfort zone

This has been probably the best trip I’ve ever done, because it’s so far out of my comfort zone, as far as everything. Everything. It puts tingles over your arms.

I would definitely say come. You’ve got to come. It’s just been gobsmacking!

You live your day-to-day life, every week is one after another, so you’ve got to do this type of thing. You know, just sort of put a bit ‘oompf’ in it.

I definitely will be putting myself out there a bit more and not taking the safe options as far as travelling goes. I definitely won’t be saying no next time my sister and her husband ask me to come. I’ll just say, ‘I’m there!’ ”

Get out of your comfort zone and see something new and amazing right here!
