Day 1 Welcome to Copenhagen

Meet us in Copenhagen, Denmark, for a wonderful Scandinavian adventure. Upon arrival, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 2 Copenhagen City Tour

After breakfast this morning, meet your local guide at the reception and enjoy a half-day city tour of Copenhagen (approximately 3 hours). You will discover charms from the past and present, including the infamous Little Mermaid and the Royal Palace Amalienborg. Take a stroll around Nyhavn, originally a busy commercial port, but nowadays a popular tourist hotspot known for its colourful 17th-century houses. Some of the houses within the port provide great historical significance, such as house number 20, which was home to the famous Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen. You will find that during summertime Nyhavn is the perfect place to end a long day.

If your free time allows, you may like to bike around the city like a true Copenhagener (not included). Copenhagen is world famous for its biking culture which is as old as the bicycle itself. Alternatively join an optional royal canal cruise (not included).

Day 3 Copenhagen, Denmark - Oslo, Norway

After breakfast, enjoy your free time shopping for Viking souvenirs, strolling around the famous Tivoli Gardens or head to the harbour to see the iconic Little Mermaid. In the late afternoon, you will be transferred to the ferry terminal to embark on your DFDS overnight cruise to Oslo. Dinner will be provided onboard tonight.

Day 4 Oslo City Tour - Geilo, Norway

Welcome to the Kingdom of Norway, a country with some of the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Upon arrival, meet your local guide at the cruise ship terminal and depart on a half-day city sightseeing tour (approximately 3 hours). You will take in the main highlights of Oslo including the Royal Palace, Fram Museum, about the Norwegian polar exploration, (entrance included), City Hall and Akershus Fortress (entrances not included).

You will also get to enjoy a visit to the famous Frogner Park (entrance included). The largest park in the city, it is home to an assortment of 200 bronze, granite and cast-iron sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. The park is one of Norway’s premier tourist attractions with upwards of one million visiting the park each year. Take some time to see why.

Enjoy some free time for lunch (not included), before departing to the picturesque resort town of Geilo. You'll pass Lake Tyrifjord and the magnificent Hallingdal Valley after an approximately 220-kilometre travel day.

Day 5 Geilo, Norway - Bergen City Tour

The stage leads you to a deserted area and the beautiful mountains of Hardangervidda, with a stop to admire the Vøringfoss waterfall, one of the highest in the country, before continuing to Bergen. Bergen is the Gateway to the Fjords of Norway. As a UNESCO World Heritage City and a European City of Culture, the Bergen region has the ideal combination of nature, culture, and exciting urban life all year round. After some free time for lunch (not included), meet your local guide and enjoy a tour of this Hanseatic Capital of Norway. Pass through the most emblematic places such as the Hanseatic Bryggen, with the church of Mary, the Hakon fortress and the famous Fish market. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure in the picturesque city of Bergen, after an approximately 245 kilometre travel day.

Day 6 Bergen - Gudvangen - Flam - Førde, Fjords Area

This morning depart for Gudvangen, a small village in the heart of the fjord’s region. From Gudvangen you will embark on a fjord cruise to Flam. During the trip you will cruise on the stunning Aurlandsfjord and Naeroyfjord, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, and arms of the famous Sognefjord, which is also called the King of the Fjords. Upon arrival in Flam, you will depart to Forde. During the trip, you will cross the Sognefjord once more from Fodnes to Manheller. Upon arrival enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure after an approximately 200 kilometre travel day

Day 7 Forde - Briksdal Glacier - Geiranger - Alesund

After breakfast begin your excursion to Briksdal, where you can explore the arm of Jostedalbreen, the biggest glacier on Europe's mainland. The Glacier falls from a height of 1200 metres to the narrow valley. Continue to Geiranger where you will board a cruise on the spectacular Geirangerfjord, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before driving towards Alesund via the famous Eagle Road. The Eagle Road is the name given to the steepest stretch of road up the mountainside from Geiranger towards Eidsdal. The road was an attraction from the very first day and was called Eagle Road because at its highest point it passed through terrain that had traditionally been the domain of a large population of eagles. Enjoy a restful evening after an approximately 250 kilometre travel day.

Day 8 Alesund - Troll Road - Otta Region

Today depart towards Andalsnes via the Trolls Road; an exciting series of 11 hairpin bends that descend the mountain. A true work of art with astonishing views, an impressive piece of engineering where the road snakes and climbs its way up and up along steep mountainsides. The scenic drive continues to the villages of Bjorli and Dombas via the beautiful Gudbrandsdal valley, before arriving in Otta after an approximately 350 kilometre travel day.

Day 9 Otta Region - Lillehammer - Oslo

Today head towards Oslo, enjoying a short stop in Lillehammer to have a look around the Olympic city. In the afternoon arrive in Hamar, a Norwegian city on the banks of Mjosa, Norway’s largest lake. Continue along the coast of Lake Mjosa, to reach Oslo in the late afternoon.

Day 10 Oslo, Norway - Stockholm, Sweden

Today you will head to the railway station and board your train towards Stockholm. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.

After breakfast, meet your local guide at the reception of the hotel and enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city (approximately 4 hours).

Stockholm is generally referred to as ‘Beauty on Water’ and ‘Venice of the North’, which is understandable as the city is built upon 14 islands. It is surrounded by Lake Malaren, and the Baltic Sea. The city's grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history, and museums tell her 700-year-old history beautifully. During your sightseeing tour, you will see the Gamla Stan (Old town), where you will be charmed by cobblestone streets, crooked but beautifully preserved buildings, The Royal Palace, gothic churches, excellent cafés, bars, restaurants, and Swedish design-ware shops (entrances not included).

Day 12 Stockholm, Sweden - Helsinki, Finland

Spend a final morning at leisure in Stockholm, enjoying this time to further explore the city’s fashion, design, restaurants, and cultural experiences as well as beautiful architecture. In the afternoon you will be transferred to the cruise-ship terminal where you will board an overnight ferry to the beautiful city of Helsinki.

Day 13 Helsinki, Finland

This morning the ship will arrive in Helsinki. Upon arrival, be met by a local guide and enjoy a 3-hour sightseeing tour of the city. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a vibrant seaside city encased by beautiful islands and great green parks. During your tour see the highlights of the city. Amongst others, you will see Senaatintori, the Senate square and its magnificent architectural ensemble. Right around the corner near the harbour, you will find the Kauppatori, a picturesque market square, characterised by an abundance of flowers, fruits and busy traders. Next, see the Tuomiokirkko (cathedral), It was built in the 19th century and has an impressive copper dome - Concerts regularly take place inside. Another church, the Temppeliaukio kirkko, is carved into the rocky earth which enhances the excellent acoustics. Your last stop is the Uspenski Cathedral - the neo-Byzantine Orthodox Cathedral rears its mighty mass of red brick in the Katajanokka Island (entrances not included). Day 14 Tallinn Full Day City Tour - Helsinki, Finland

In the morning you will be transferred to the cruise ship terminal where you will board a ferry to the medieval city of Tallinn, Estonia. Upon arrival, be met by a local guide and enjoy a 2-hour sightseeing tour of the city.

Tallinn offers a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafes and restaurants. The tour takes you around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where you will see; Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall (entrances not included).

After the tour, enjoy some time at leisure. Alternatively, you may like to join an optional lunch at a medieval restaurant in Tallinn (not included). In the afternoon you will embark on a short cruise back to Helsinki by ferry and be transferred to the hotel.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group. 
 
Tour Leader
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

• In spring, the days get longer, and the temperatures rise slowly; the first warm days, more likely in the second half of April. By mid-May, the maximum temperatures hover around 20/22°C.
• Summer is pleasant, with maximum temperatures hovering around 21/22°C - ideal for outdoor activities. The nights are cool still cool, however with minimum temperatures around 11/12 °C. August is one of the hottest months of the year with average temperatures around 18°C with highs of 23°C.

Passport Validity
Customers must provide valid passport details either at the time of purchase or no later than 45 days before the departure date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking. Customers will be responsible for any costs and fees incurred in this instance.

COACH TOUR
Meals
15 meals including daily breakfast is included in the package. For meals not included, the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. It is your responsibility to notify TripADeal of any dietary requests/requirements. Please note: We will do our best to meet your requests/requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to.

Luggage
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on tour. You must carry your own luggage from the vehicle to the hotel room and back to the vehicle. The driver will assist with the uploading and unloading of bags from the vehicle.

Fitness Level Required:
Adventure (and spontaneity) create some of the best travel memories. Bear in mind, your home schedules and timings might not be adhered to on tour - it's all part of the fun!

A relaxed level of fitness will be required. Expect a comfortable pace of touring with a focus on leisure time and gentle activity. This may include city tours, the ability to walk up and down small flights of stairs and gentle slopes. You will be responsible for your own luggage and have the ability to board all modes of transport without assistance.

Please note:
• Some areas may be inaccessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters, with personal walking sticks and other aids required should they be needed. Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.
• It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.
• If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.
  
Gratuities/tipping

Land
Gratuities (tips) are not included for the services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour. The recommended tip is €5-€7 per person per day. This covers the guide/leader and the driver and will be collected on tour. 

Please note: tipping for services provided is always a matter of personal discretion; however, please be aware that many locals consider tipping part of their normal remuneration, and they may approach you for payment; there's no need to be intimidated by the request.

Sightseeing
Please note: If the entrance to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Shopping
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts. Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Visas

A tourist visa is not required for Europe for stays up to 90 days if travelling on an Australian or New Zealand passport.

European Union Entry/Exit System (EES)
From October 12, 2025, a new European Entry System (EES) replaces the current manual passport-stamping process for non-EU travellers. Upon arrival in the Schengen area, Australian and New Zealand passport holders will have their fingerprints recorded and a photograph taken. Their entry and exit dates will be electronically registered. No previous action is required, but please be aware of longer wait times at border entry. From 10 April 2026, the EES will be fully operational at all external border crossing points of all the European countries (Schengen area) using the system.

European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS)
As an extension of the EES implementation introduced from 2025, ETIAS travel authorisation is a mandatory entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals travelling to any of these 30 European countries, including Australian and New Zealand citizens, that will be introduced in 2026. We advise you to monitor smartraveller.com.au closer to your departure to ensure you are up to date on the requirements at the time of entry.

Voluntary Changes
Includes booking changes requested by you, including but not limited to those changes requiring an airline ticket or a Purchase Confirmation reissue.
 • Changes - $100.00 per booking + additional charges from the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel providers.
 
Name Changes Due To Passenger Error
If the incorrect name has been advised to TripADeal, charges of $100 per booking + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel providers.

Supplier Fees
In the event the Travel Offer you have purchased is unable to proceed, and/or a travel Supplier is unable to fulfil the Travel Offer due to external circumstances (Limitation of Liability e.g. a Force Majeure event), there may be a fee or amount of money that is withheld by our Suppliers and is unrecoverable. This may be due to non-refundable airline tickets, cancellation penalties with cruise cabins or unrecoverable payments with our land/accommodation partners. TripADeal has committed to these costs as your Agent and will endeavour to recover all funds committed and/or paid for your Travel Offer, but this may not be possible in all circumstances. If refunds are unavailable from Suppliers, we will endeavour to obtain a travel credit on the best terms available and communicate these outcomes to you. If TripADeal cannot obtain a refund or travel service credit, or part thereof, this cost is passed on to the customer as a Supplier Fee. This fee is not revenue-raising and is paid to or withheld by our suppliers when recovering payments.
