Day 2 Johannesburg - Maun - Okavango Delta, Botswana

After breakfast in Johannesburg, make use of the complimentary hotel shuttle to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your flight to Botswana. Upon arrival at Maun Airport, you will be warmly met and assisted with your onward seat-in-charter flight to Camp, set deep within the spectacular Okavango Delta.

With an exceptional range of activities on offer, the camp promises unforgettable water- and land-based safari experiences. The Okavango Delta is world-renowned for its rich biodiversity, offering intimate encounters with both wildlife and birdlife. Located in the northern Delta, the camp provides access to a diverse mix of land, water, and air activities, all led by experienced local guides whose deep knowledge of the region enhances every moment of your stay.

Depart the Camp in the mid to late afternoon, as the heat of the day eases and the Delta begins to stir with life. This is one of the most rewarding times to explore, as wildlife becomes increasingly active in the cooler hours. Traverse a rich mosaic of landscapes, from open floodplains and winding waterways to wooded islands, each offering the opportunity to encounter a variety of species. Watch as elephants gather at the water’s edge, antelope graze in the golden light, and predators such as lion and leopard begin their evening movements. Your expert guide will interpret the bush around you, tracking wildlife, sharing fascinating insights into animal behaviour, and pointing out the intricate details of the Delta’s unique ecosystem. As the sun dips toward the horizon, pause at a scenic spot for a classic safari sundowner. Enjoy refreshing drinks and light snacks while the sky transforms into a canvas of warm oranges and deep purples, an iconic African moment. The adventure continues into the early evening, with spotlights revealing the Delta’s nocturnal world. Keep an eye out for bush babies, genets, and perhaps even elusive predators on the hunt.

Return to camp after dark, where a delicious dinner and the soothing sounds of the wilderness provide the perfect end to your day.

Overnight: Kadizora Camp or Saguni Safari Lodge, Okavango Delta

Meals included: Breakfast; Dinner

Day 3 Okavango Delta, Botswana

Begin your day at first light as the African bush awakens around Kadizora Camp. After a light breakfast and freshly brewed coffee, set out with your experienced guide into the pristine wilderness of the Okavango Delta, one of Africa’s most extraordinary ecosystems. The early morning hours offer exceptional wildlife viewing. As golden light stretches across the floodplains, you may encounter herds of elephant, buffalo, and antelope, while predators such as lion and leopard are often still active before retreating from the rising heat. Along the way, your guide will interpret animal tracks, bird calls, and the subtle rhythms of the bush, offering fascinating insight into this unique environment. Pause mid morning at a scenic location to enjoy refreshments while taking in the stillness and sweeping Delta views.

Continue exploring a diverse range of habitats, from open grasslands and mopane woodlands to seasonal floodplains, each supporting an abundance of wildlife and birdlife. Around midday, stop in a shaded spot for a relaxed picnic lunch. Take time to unwind, enjoy freshly prepared dishes, and soak up the tranquility of your surroundings. Depending on conditions, there may also be an opportunity to stretch your legs under the careful guidance of your ranger. As the afternoon unfolds and temperatures begin to ease, continue your game drive, with wildlife once again becoming more active in the cooler hours. Return to Kadizora Camp in the late afternoon, where a warm welcome, a delicious dinner, and the soothing sounds of the bush provide the perfect end to your day.

Overnight: Kadizora Camp or Saguni Safari Lodge, Okavango Delta

Day 4 Okavango Delta, Botswana

Enjoy a full day immersed in the natural beauty of the Okavango Delta, with two included activities offering a variety of ways to experience this extraordinary wilderness. The best wildlife viewing takes place in the cool hours of early morning and late afternoon. Your first game drive departs before sunrise, when the bush is alive with activity, followed by an afternoon drive as the day begins to cool. Morning drives include a “hotbox” breakfast enjoyed during a scenic safari stop, featuring hot and cold beverages, a breakfast sandwich, and fresh fruit. In the afternoon, pause for a classic sundowner, taking in a spectacular sunset with drinks and savoury nibbles. Of course, if your guide is tracking an exciting sighting, you may choose to continue the pursuit and make the most of the moment.

One of the most iconic and serene ways to explore the Delta is by mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe expertly guided by a local poler. Glide silently through reed-lined channels and lily-covered waters, offering a unique vantage point just above the water’s surface. This peaceful experience allows for close encounters with wildlife along the water’s edge, from pods of hippos to an abundance of birdlife. Moving quietly through shallow waterways inaccessible by boat, a mokoro excursion is a true highlight and an essential Okavango experience. Step off the vehicle and into the heart of the Delta on a guided walking safari.

Led by a professional and experienced guide, this immersive experience reveals the finer details of the ecosystem often missed on game drives. Exploring at a relaxed pace in the early morning or late afternoon, you’ll learn to identify animal tracks, discover medicinal plants, and gain insight into the intricate relationships between flora and fauna. While larger wildlife such as giraffe, zebra and antelope may be seen at a safe distance, the focus is on understanding the environment as a whole. Conducted with safety as a priority, this experience offers a rare opportunity

Overnight: Kadizora Camp or Saguni Safari Lodge, Okavango Delta

Other important information

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on the history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction where they are guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves it at the end of the tour; they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides at each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village and offer information on the place visited on the bus. However, they are not required to have specific art, architecture, or historical knowledge. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and, if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Zambia
In the area of Victoria Falls, the climate is subtropical, with a mild and dry winter from mid-May to mid-August (during which, however, nights are cold), and a hot, muggy and rainy summer from mid-November to mid-March. The rains occur in the form of downpours or thunderstorms. Between September and November, before the rainy season, there is a hot period, which is in fact the hottest of the year, with temperatures easily reaching 35°C, and sometimes up to 40°C, even though the humidity is not as high as in summer. October is the hottest month of the year. On the contrary, in winter, when during the day the weather is nice, the temperature at night may approach freezing (0°C).

Johannesburg Area, South Africa
Johannesburg is located on the highveld plateau and experiences a subtropical highland climate. The city enjoys a sunny climate year-round, with hot days, afternoon thundershowers, and cool evenings during the summer months (October to April). In the winter months (May to September), the weather is marked by dry, sunny days and cold nights. Due to its high elevation, Johannesburg typically has mild temperatures, with an average maximum of 25.6°C in January and around 16°C in June. The UV index during the summer is extremely high, often reaching levels of 14-16, due to the city's elevation and proximity to the equator.

Maun, Botswana
Temperatures in Botswana differ throughout the year. In summer months the climate is warm to hot (November to March) the maximum temperature can reach 30ºC with lows of 14ºC. In winter months the temperature can range from highs of 12ºC to lows of 2ºC, ensuring you bring warmer clothing, particularly in the evening for winter months.

Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
The climate around Victoria Falls is sub-tropical, with a mild and dry winter from mid-May to mid-August, though nights can be quite cold. From mid-November to mid-March, the summer is hot, humid, and rainy, with downpours or thunderstorms. Between September and November, just before the rainy season, there is a hot period, which is the hottest of the year, with temperatures often reaching 35°C and sometimes even 40°C, though humidity is lower than in summer. October is the hottest month of the year. In contrast, during winter, while the days are pleasant, nighttime temperatures can drop to near freezing (0°C).
Please note: The water flow at Victoria Falls varies with the seasons.

FLIGHTS
Seat Selection & Frequent Flyer Points:
We do not arrange seat selection. It is essential to highlight that some airlines do not allow pre-selected seats. We strongly suggest you contact the airline directly with seating allocation requirements and/or arrive at the airport earlier to arrange your seating. While we do not add frequent flyer member details to bookings, you can do this directly with the airline once you have your flight information.

Dietary Requests
Meal options and availability differ between airlines and routes therefore not all dietary requests can be accommodated. If your flight includes meals we will select the most suitable option available based on the dietary requirements you have specified. All meal requests are subject to airline approval and are not guaranteed, therefore we recommend preparing for your flight by bringing appropriate food for yourself, as required.

Passport Validity:
Customers must provide valid passport details either at the time of purchase or no later than 90 days before the departure date. Failure to do so may result in the cancellation of the booking. Customers will be responsible for any costs and fees incurred in this instance.

COACH TOUR
Meals:
For meals not included, the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. It is your responsibility to notify us of any dietary requests/requirements.

Please note: We will do our best to meet your requests/requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to.

Luggage:
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on tour. You must carry your own luggage from the vehicle to the hotel room and back to the vehicle. The driver will assist with the uploading and unloading of bags from the vehicle.

OTHER
Mobility:
If you require wheelchair access please contact our friendly sales and service team to inquire on your behalf.

Fitness Level Required:
Adventure (and spontaneity) create some of the best travel memories. Bear in mind, your home schedules and timings might not be adhered to on tour - it's all part of the fun!

A moderate level of fitness will be required.
Expect a moderate pace of touring with a focus on guided tours that may include full days with extended activity, guided city tours or nature walks. You will require a general level of fitness for unassisted navigation of stairs and inclines, longer distances with possible periods of standing when visiting sites, walking on sloping, uneven ground or elevations. You will be responsible for your own luggage and have the ability to board all modes of transport without assistance. Please note: Many areas may be inaccessible to wheelchairs or mobility scooters, where the unassisted use of personal walking sticks and other aids may be required. Although some assistance may be available, every traveller should be self-reliant during all aspects of their travel.
Please note: It is expected that every traveller must be self-reliant and able to undertake all aspects of their own travel. Please speak to your booking agent about your personal circumstances and any assistance requirements to ensure this tour is right for you.
Please note: If you have any concerns, please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.

Yellow Fever:
A valid international certificate of vaccination against Yellow Fever is required in many countries. You may need to present this on arrival at the airport or border crossing. Some countries will refuse entry if you are unable to present your certificate. It's also common for your home country to request a Yellow Fever certificate upon arrival.
You must check with your doctor well before leaving home about the Yellow Fever requirements for the countries you'll be visiting.

Sightseeing:
Please note: If entry to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary, where possible, may be adjusted, or a similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).

Wildlife sighting:
TripADeal cannot guarantee animal sightings on tour. Wildlife are unpredictable and factors such as weather conditions, predatory fear and animal movements can impact sightings.

Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all your receipts.
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding shopping for further information.

Zimbabwe
A tourist visa is a strict requirement when travelling to Zimbabwe on an Australian or New Zealand Passport. Visa options, including Single Entry, Double Entry, and the KAZA Uni-Visa, are available for purchase either online prior to departure or upon arrival at the port of entry (Visa On Arrival - VOA). All visa fees are payable in US Dollars cash (Please bring the exact amount in USD cash).
Travellers must consult their full itinerary to determine the correct visa type required, as border crossings or overnight stays in neighbouring countries will affect the validity of a Single Entry, Double Entry or KAZA Uni-Visa.
Border crossing: Kazangula border post

New Zimbabwe Immigration Requirements
To streamline and speed up the immigration process on arrival, the Zimbabwe Immigration Department has implemented an online immigration declaration form that ideally should be completed by all travellers prior to arriving at any Zimbabwean border post, including Victoria Falls Airport. This new online process will, in time, replace the manual immigration declaration form and is aimed at improving the guest experience at border control.
If travellers can’t fill it out beforehand, there are fallback options:Completing it on arrival via your own device (if there is Wi-Fi)
Using devices provided by immigration at the point of entry
Or filling out a physical form upon arrival, if necessary.
Please note: As it stands, we are not asking clients to have this completed beforehand – we have not had any news that this is a pre-requisite and therefore it is business as usual until such time that it becomes an official requirements.

Zambia
Australian and New Zealand passport holders do not need a visa to enter Zambia for tourism or short visits.

Important:
• Please start arranging your visa three weeks before departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating hours.
• Visa rules are subject to change. Please check with the nearest embassy, consulate or immigration department of the destination/s you are visiting once you receive your travel documentation to ensure you have the most up to date information.
• It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure that you are aware and comply with any destination or travel requirements, including the validity of all required travel documents.
• Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.
• It is also important to note that some areas of employment, such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations, may have additional restrictions in applying for visas. This may, in turn, affect the type of application required.
