This morning join a guided tour of Johannesburg, which is home to one of the world’s biggest urban forests of approximately 6 million trees. Johannesburg is a massive city where opposites collide to create an interesting city of contradictions and extraordinary charm, and as a result has some of the most high-end shops and restaurants in the country. A popular stop on the tour includes the sobering Apartheid Museum.
Afterwards, visit the Southwestern Townships - ‘Soweto’. Only 15 km from the Johannesburg city centre this both famous and infamous neighbourhood covers an acreage of just 63 km2. The origin of Soweto is rooted in British and Apartheid oppression, and its considerable population came about with the influx of migrants, drawn to find work on the gold mines. Make a stop at Hector Pieterson Memorial, dedicated to preserve the memory of the 1976 Soweto uprisings.
Afterwards, continue through the South African countryside to the 5-star Ivory Tree Lodge for the next 4 nights. Begin the tour from outside the imposing Notre Dame in Ile de la Cite, considered by many as the most significant church in Paris, a masterpiece of French Gothic art, renowned for stunning stained-glass windows, flying buttresses and intricate statues. Not far from Notre Dame, you will see the Palace of the Conciergerie, formerly a prison but presently used for practising law. Today transfer to the airport for the onward flight to the town of Puerto Iguazu, on the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Puerto Iguazu is the gateway to the Iguazu Waterfalls, which are located near the triple border between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. They are composed of 275 cascades and fed by the Iguazu River flow. One of the most significant attractions is Garganta del Diablo (or Devil's Throat) which is the biggest fall of the complex (80m high). No matter what side of the border, the view is simply mesmerising.

After breakfast, be met by the local guide for an excursion into the Argentinian side of Iguazu National Park to spend the day exploring the falls and the surrounding rivers and jungle. The park consists of various trails that take you through on walkways built a few metres above the jungle floor and waterways. These raised platforms protect the natural habitat and provide some spectacular views. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in the park (not included) or bring a packed lunch with you from Puerto Iguazu to enjoy in the great outdoors. Return to Puerto Iguazu in the afternoon.
Optional Activity - The Great Adventure Tour - $200 AUD per person
The tour starts at the entrance of the Argentinian side of Iguazu National Park (entrance not included). All passengers will be provided with life jackets, and waterproof bags in which to put the other change of clothes, to protect them from the water.
The tour is divided into 2 parts:
Climb aboard a zodiac boat and approach the feet of the San Martin, Bosetti, Three Musketeers and Garganta del Diablo falls and the navigation downstream by the river rapids, arriving at Puerto Macuco (3 kilometres from the Falls). Approaching the waterfalls, you will be able to see incredible views from the base of the river and enjoy this opportunity to take some spectacular photos.
As you get closer and closer to the falls, you are asked to keep everything electronic in the waterproof bags, so that you can enjoy the freshness of the water, soaking directly, embracing the shock of the water as a massage. Return to the dock, and change into dry clothes. Hop on board a movitruck and travel 8 kilometres through the jungle of Misiones, accompanied by a bilingual guide who will help interpret the beautiful flora and fauna of the region around us.

After breakfast be picked up from the hotel for a panoramic tour of downtown Rio de Janeiro with a photo stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Continue to Corcovado Mountain to visit the Christ Statue, elected as one of the seven modern wonders of the world. The statue sits 2,300 ft. above sea level, atop Corcovado Hill. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, we will arrive at the foot of the hill, where we embark on a small train which climbs the beautiful mountainside. Upon reaching the top, visitors will experience a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is known as the “Marvellous City”!

Welcome to Paris. Upon arrival be met and transferred to your Hotel. In the afternoon enjoy a half-day city tour of Paris with a local guide. Begin the tour from outside the imposing Notre Dame in Ile de la Cite, considered by many as the most significant church in Paris, a masterpiece of French Gothic art, renowned for stunning stained-glass windows, flying buttresses and intricate statues. Not far from Notre Dame, you will see the Palace of the Conciergerie, formerly a prison but presently used for practising law. The prison housed as many as 1200 prisoners in its heyday, including the famous Marie Antoinette (Queen of France). Continue onwards to the Latin Quarter, the literary and intellectual area and home to the former University of Sorbonne. Afterwards, take some time to admire the impressive Luxembourg Garden and Saint Germain des Prés (entrances not included). Continue through Les Halles shopping district (formerly a fresh food market in the 19th century) until you reach the cultural centre of ‘George Pompidou’, home to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Today depart for Dijon, the capital city of the historical Burgundy region, one of the country’s principal wine-producing areas. The region is known for its vineyards, International Gastronomic Fair and building styles ranging from gothic to art deco. Nestled in the foothills of the Côte d'Or, the city is often referred to as the ‘city of a hundred towers’. Enjoy a walking tour of the historic city centre with the tour leader. Be spoiled for choice as Dijon is blessed with an abundance of beautiful architecture. First, see the remarkably well-preserved 17th century Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy (entrance not included) in the city centre. Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, be welcomed and transferred to the hotel. The name Buenos Aires literally means "good airs" in Spanish. It’s one of the largest cities in Latin America, with a wide range of cultural offerings and stunning sights. As the nation's capital it's the best place to start your exploration - a melting pot of history, culture and passion.
This afternoon enjoy a half-day city tour of Buenos Aires. Visit Plaza de Mayo and see the Pink House, the Presidential Palace, the Cabildo Town Hall and the Neoclassical-style Metropolitan Cathedral. Next, travel to the area of Palermo best known for its large parks designed by celebrated landscape architects, such as the illustrious Frenchman Charles Thays. In Retiro and Recoleta you will visit the impressive Plaza San Martín and stroll down Avenida Alvear. Then see the Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, one of the city’s oldest churches. Finally, admire the celebrated Recoleta Cemetery, a true labyrinth of ornate mausoleums with a stop at Eva Peron’s grave, one of the country’s most recognisable icons.
In the afternoon travel to San Telmo, one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires. Walk its cobbled streets, where the city’s colonial past seems to come back to life, making a stop at Plaza Dorrego, best known for its traditional antiques fair, held every Sunday. Leaving San Telmo behind, continue southwards to La Boca, one of the city’s most authentic and charming neighbourhoods. Here make a special visit to the quirky Caminito Street, which sums up everything that gives La Boca its distinctive spirit: the strong passion for soccer, the heavy presence of art and colour, and the Tango-esque atmosphere. Finish the tour back at the hotel.

Head north on a journey of 30 km to the City of Tigre, crossing parks and beautiful buildings. Visit the imposing Rio de la Plata (river), the widest in the world. Make a stop at the Puerto de Frutos and enjoy browsing a magnificent local market, with its small jetty bordering the Lujan River. Upon arrival in Tigre, board a Panoramic Catamaran, to enjoy the Paraná Delta. In quiet, stable, and safe navigation, see a labyrinth of islands and islets crisscrossed by rivers and streams. This visit is ideal to learn about life on the islands, flora, fauna, recreation, and water sports.
Optional Activity - Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay Day Tour - $280 AUD per person
Today discover the UNESCO-listed Uruguayan town of Colonia del Sacramento on a day trip from Buenos Aires. Leave the cosmopolitan capital behind for the slower pace of life on the other side of the Rio de la Plata. After a ferry ride (approximately 1 hour), meet a local guide for a walking tour of Colonia. Pause for a meal at your choice of restaurant (not included), then spend the afternoon discovering Colonia on your own at leisure. Return to Buenos Aires by ferry at the end of the day.

Today transfer to the airport for the onward flight to the town of Puerto Iguazu, on the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Puerto Iguazu is the gateway to the Iguazu Waterfalls, which are located near the triple border between Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. They are composed of 275 cascades and fed by the Iguazu River flow. One of the most significant attractions is Garganta del Diablo (or Devil's Throat) which is the biggest fall of the complex (80m high). No matter what side of the border, the view is simply mesmerising.

After breakfast, be met by the local guide for an excursion into the Argentinian side of Iguazu National Park to spend the day exploring the falls and the surrounding rivers and jungle. The park consists of various trails that take you through on walkways built a few metres above the jungle floor and waterways. These raised platforms protect the natural habitat and provide some spectacular views. Enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in the park (not included) or bring a packed lunch with you from Puerto Iguazu to enjoy in the great outdoors. Return to Puerto Iguazu in the afternoon.
Optional Activity - The Great Adventure Tour - $200 AUD per person
The tour starts at the entrance of the Argentinian side of Iguazu National Park (entrance not included). All passengers will be provided with life jackets, and waterproof bags in which to put the other change of clothes, to protect them from the water.
The tour is divided into 2 parts:
Climb aboard a zodiac boat and approach the feet of the San Martin, Bosetti, Three Musketeers and Garganta del Diablo falls and the navigation downstream by the river rapids, arriving at Puerto Macuco (3 kilometres from the Falls). Approaching the waterfalls, you will be able to see incredible views from the base of the river and enjoy this opportunity to take some spectacular photos.
As you get closer and closer to the falls, you are asked to keep everything electronic in the waterproof bags, so that you can enjoy the freshness of the water, soaking directly, embracing the shock of the water as a massage. Return to the dock, and change into dry clothes. Hop on board a movitruck and travel 8 kilometres through the jungle of Misiones, accompanied by a bilingual guide who will help interpret the beautiful flora and fauna of the region around us.
Please note: The Great Adventure Tour will take place during the scheduled tour of the Argentinian side of the falls mentioned in the itinerary above. Customers who purchase the Great Adventure Tour will split from the main group part way through the scheduled tour to take part in this optional tour.

Today, be met at the hotel and transferred across the border to the Brazilian side of Iguazu National Park. Enjoy a half-day guided tour of the Iguazu River Canyon, the Salto Rivadavia, Three Musketeers, and the Devil's Throat, among other iconic landmarks on this side of the park. This wonderful setting is enhanced by the almost permanent rainbows that are created by the spray from the waterfalls. Enjoy lunch at one of the park’s restaurants (not included) and then transfer onwards to the airport in Foz de Iguazu (Brazil) for the connecting flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

After breakfast be picked up from the hotel for a panoramic tour of downtown Rio de Janeiro with a photo stop at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Continue to Corcovado Mountain to visit the Christ Statue, elected as one of the seven modern wonders of the world. The statue sits 2,300 ft. above sea level, atop Corcovado Hill. Following a scenic drive along the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, we will arrive at the foot of the hill, where we embark on a small train which climbs the beautiful mountainside. Upon reaching the top, visitors will experience a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and discover why it is known as the “Marvellous City”!

This morning, after breakfast, enjoy a half-day guided tour of Santiago. Start out with a visit to the highpoints of the city’s civic centre, such as Cerro Santa Lucia (a centrally located historic urban park), the La Moneda Palace (presidential offices) and the traditional Plaza de Armas square, a meeting place for Santiago’s diverse and multicultural expressions. Buildings of historical value can be found in the neighbourhood, such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, National Museum of History and Central Post Office. Later walk through the Parque Forestal, a park running parallel to the Mapocho River with a variety of tree species offering a refreshing break from the urban agitation of the city’s centre. Continue onto Barrio Bellavista, Santiago’s bohemian neighbourhood, with some of the best bars and restaurants in the city. After the tour enjoy a traditional lunch at the Central Local Market. In the afternoon return to the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

This morning head out on a spectacular guided tour of Lima, the capital of Peru. Visit iconic places that are rich in history along with picturesque churches and exquisite colonial architecture. The first stop will be the ancient ceremonial centre called “Huaca Pucllana”, a great clay pyramid located in the Miraflores district of central Lima. Next drive into the centre of the city and stroll around the main square, the Plaza de Armas. Here you will see imposing architecture such as the Government Palace, Cathedral of Lima, Archbishop's Palace of Lima, the Municipal Palace, and the Palace of the Union. Afterwards take a tour of the Santo Domingo convent and its extensive monastery. Finish back at the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.

This morning be transferred to the airport for your internal flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, be met by the guide and drive onwards to the town of Urubamba in the Sacred Valley. On the way enjoy a stop in Chinchero - a small and scenic town in the Peruvian Andes. Here there are some 50 families who make a living out of agriculture and textiles. You will have the opportunity to attend a talk and demonstration about how these textiles are made, as well as learn about the different styles and shapes made in this area (blankets, ponchos, chullos etc.). A member of one of the families will explain, in Quechua (translated into English), the best techniques to understand the secrets of traditional iconography. You will also have the chance to observe the processes involved in the creation of textiles, from the shearing of wool, spinning, the washing of the wool, along with the collection of plants and flowers used for natural dyeing.
Afterwards continue onwards to the nearby hotel accommodation in the town of Urubamba, in the Sacred Valley region of south-eastern Peru. A busy transportation hub, it sits on the Urubamba River, surrounded by rugged mountains. Today is approximately a 70 km travel day.

This morning head out on a full-day tour of the Sacred Valley. First stop will be the village of Pisac. In Pisac, enjoy a quick visit to a traditional artisan market, where you can browse and buy local souvenirs if desired. Afterwards, drive to the ruins of Pisac, where you can explore the extensive ruins and enjoy stunning views of the valley. Enjoy a guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac, in which you will see the ruins of temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves and the famous Intihuatana, which translates to 'the hitching post of the sun'. Intihuatana, the place when the sun gets tied, is a religious construction used like a clock to measure when it was the time to celebrate winter solstice - one of the most important celebrations and rituals of the Inca Empire.
For those who would prefer to spend more time in the market instead of visiting the ruins, please advise your guide so they can organise a time and place to collect you when returning past the market. Afterwards drive onwards to the village of Ollantaytambo, surrounded by the sacred mountains. Here, enjoy further exposure to Incan constructions including the amazing Temple of the Sun, enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved, stone water fountains, stairs and terraces. Admire the beauty of the local people in their traditional dress. Afterwards, return to the town of Urubamba.

An early start this morning! Your tour will begin early this morning to travel to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo). The two-hour train journey is a memorable experience passing through river canyons and rolling hills. The guide will pick you up from the train station before walking to the bus departure point for the short, zigzagging ascent up the road to Machu Picchu. Pass through the gates into the Machu Picchu archaeological site and begin the two-hour guided walking tour with an experienced and highly knowledgeable guide who will take you to all the most famous and most spectacular parts of the extensive archaeological complex. These include the House of the Guardian, Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, Sacred Plaza and other key locations. And as you walk around, enjoy spectacular views across the agriculture terraces of Machu Picchu and across to the surrounding mountains and plunging gorges.
Afterward, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes where you can relax, before boarding the train back to Poroy and Cusco. Upon arrival at the station, you’ll be transferred to the hotel in Cusco.

This morning, after breakfast, be picked up from the hotel and begin a full-day Cusco city tour. Start in the city centre where you will view the Incan foundations of many buildings, the famous Cathedral, and the Temple of the Sun. You will also visit the typical Peruvian market of San Pedro. Next, visit the hills around Cusco for a tour of four of Cusco’s famous ruins: Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Finish the day back at the hotel.
This evening, enjoy a folklore show and dinner.
Head to the Tunupa restaurant, located just the central Plaza de Armas of Cusco (a three-minute walk from the hotel), and get ready for a fabulous buffet dinner. There is a large selection of typical dishes, meat, fish, vegetables, and desserts - all amazing and delicious dishes. The night is even more enjoyable when the traditional dance show begins. Enjoy the folk, traditional and classical music, and sweeten your ears with the Andean instruments: Quena, charango, flute, zampoña.
