Australia’s great south west has it all: internationally renowned wineries, wild and scenic coastline dotted with swoon-worthy beaches, abundant wildlife and enchanting forests lifted straight from the pages of Tolkien or C.S. Lewis. And that’s barely scratching the surface of what’s in store. From Perth to Margaret River, Albany and beyond, this six day small group tour will showcase it all.

After an early start in Perth you’ll journey south to the beautiful seaside town of Busselton, home to the longest timber piled jetty in the southern hemisphere; treat your tastebuds with a picnic at striking Meelup Beach; and stretch your legs as you walk a highlights section of the famed Cape to Cape Track, including a stop at iconic Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. In Margaret River, a walking foodie tour will help you uncover the delicious delights of this gourmet paradise, followed by an afternoon indulging at some of the region’s celebrated wineries. From here, a treetop walk within the towering Valley of the Giants, a wildlife cruise on the clear waters of the Recherche Archipelago from Esperance, and a visit to dazzling Cape Le Grand National Park are a taste of what awaits.

Includes a one-way flight between Esperance and Perth, five nights quality accommodation, all meals including a bush-style lunch in Margaret River, national park fees, A/C bus and more.

Your South West adventure begins at The Barrack Square, 1 Barrack Square, Perth at 7.30 am, where your experienced guide will greet you. Over a coffee, discuss the journey ahead and then travel south to the seaside town of Busselton. Walk along the southern hemisphere's longest jetty before enjoying a picnic at breathtaking Meelup Beach in Dunsborough.

Stretch your legs with a walk along part of the famous Cape to Cape walk in the Leeuwin National Park and visit the iconic Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. This afternoon, stop at a couple of cellar doors in Margaret River before arriving at your room at a beachfront accommodation. Enjoy a tasty dinner at The Common Restaurant overlooking the ocean.

Overnight: Margaret River Beach Resort
Meals included: Lunch;Dinner

It’s up early today to enjoy breakfast at one of the local’s favourites, The White Elephant Beach Café. Take a look at the beautiful Margaret River Mouth and a world-famous surf break before moseying around the quaint township of Margaret River to explore its eclectic mix of boutique stores and galleries.

Then join one of the region's most exciting new tours, Walk Talk Taste. This 2.5 hour bush style lunch is under canvas at a stunning private property. Graze and sip your way through a range of local produce from the land to the sea with Witchcliffe marron and a Giniversity cocktail sure to impress.

If the weather’s nice, visit Hamlin Bay Beach to see the stingrays that swim right up to the shore. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying the best of Margaret River's cellar doors.

Full from the days grazing, we'll enjoy a light dinner and glass of wine overlooking the ocean.

Overnight: Margaret River Beach Resort
Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

After breakfast, you will connect with nature at the internationally recognised Valley of the Giants, which places you 40 metres high into the canopy of Western Australia's majestic tingle trees. Found nowhere else on Earth, walking among these beauties is a tranquil and uplifting experience. We'll spend some time here doing the 'Ancient Empire Walk' and 'Treetop Canopy Walk'.

From the forest to the ocean, it's onto William Bay National Park, where you will be amazed by the paradise that is Greens Pool and Elephant Rocks. Then it's onto yet another laid back and beautiful township called Denmark, where we'll have a picnic lunch on the banks of the river.

Cruise along a glorious stretch of coastline to Albany, seeing how years of natural erosion have crafted incredible rock sculptures and granite bluffs – the Natural Bridge and The Gap are two of our favourites. Take a look around the historical township before enjoying fish and chips on the beach for dinner.

We'll overnight in Albany after a leisurely day of around 2 hours driving.

Overnight: Dog Rock Motel, Albany
Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

Just a short drive from Albany brings us to the Porongurups. This unique mountain range rises from the landscape like an island. We'll be setting out on a two-hour hike through some spectacular forests to Castle Rock. It's a bit of a climb but worth every bit of effort as you are rewarded with jaw-dropping views over the region.

Then it's back on the bus to get ready for some of Australia's most spectacular scenery. Driving through the Stirling Ranges, a wildflower hotspot, this part of Western Australia has no less than nine National Parks and some of the world's best beaches. We'll be spending some time at Twilight Beach before continuing onto Esperance when we will settle into our accommodation at the Jetty Resort, where we will stay two nights.

Relax during a poolside BBQ for dinner tonight.

Drive time today is around 6 hours.

Overnight: Jetty Resort, Esperance
Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

Cape Le Grand is one of Western Australia's best-known and most spectacular National Parks and is just a one-hour drive from Esperance. Pristine and perfect are two words that reflect their absolute beauty. The ocean here is practically transparent, and the sand at Lucky Bay has twice been judged Australia's whitest. You've seen the pictures of the kangaroos on the beach, and this is where you'll find them. This park is so beautiful that we will be spending the whole day here, exploring, swimming, wildflower spotting, and bushwalking.

If you're a keen hiker, climbing Frenchman Peak is a must. We'll head back to Esperance for dinner at popular restaurant Taylor St Quarters and our last night together.

Overnight: Jetty Resort, Esperance
Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

We are going to end this tour with a bang! Hop on board the incredible half-day Scenic Wildlife Island Cruise. Experience the stunning beauty of the Esperance region from the crystal-clear waters of the Recherche Archipelago. Spot a plethora of wildlife, including New Zealand Fur Seals, Australian Sea Lions, Dolphins, Sea Eagles and whales (season dependent).

Cruise around spectacular bays and coves before heading out to see approximately eight islands. Snorkelling equipment is provided for those wanting to swim in some of the worlds most transparent water.

Back on dry land, we'll have a picnic lunch on the foreshore, explore the township and take a stunning scenic coastal drive before your guide transfers you to the Esperance Airport for your 4.15 pm flight back to Perth.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined.
Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
The best time to visit is during the Australian summer months (December through February), but the shoulder season is fantastic too (September to November and March to May). In summer, there is little rainfall and the average maximum temperature is just under 30 degrees Celsius. Hot days are usually cooled off with lovely afternoon sea breezes. Summer evenings are balmy to mild with temperatures around 15.5 degrees Celsius.
