After check out you can leave your luggage with the hotel and then enjoy time at leisure in Copenhagen. Copenhagen is a lively city with storybook charm. Take the opportunity, if you wish, to see such sights as the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale; The Tivoli Gardens, the world-famous amusement park; and witness the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace, the residence of the members of Europe's oldest royal dynasty.

Seydisfjordur is a quiet fishing village at the head of a long, calm and deep fjord of the same name. Sheltered beneath two beautiful mountain peaks and displaying a host of well-preserved wooden buildings dating to the early 19th century, it is regarded by many as one of Iceland's most picturesque communities. Explore the quaint town, strolling along its peaceful streets, and perhaps visit the East Iceland Museum of Technology or the Skaftfell Arts Center, which houses one of Iceland's finest galleries.

Today cruise the long, calm, deep fjord of Seydisfjordur, which twists and turns 17 kilometres from its mouth to the head of the fjord, where the town of the same name shelters beneath Mt. Strandartindur and Mt. Bjolfur.

Akureyri is a city at the base of Eyjafjordur Fjord in northern Iceland. In the centre, the 1940s Church has stained-glass windows portraying scenes from Icelandic Christian history. There are views of the fjord from the forecourt. Nearby, the Akureyri Art Museum displays contemporary art from Iceland and farther afield. To the south are the Botanical Gardens, with specimens from across Iceland.

Found in the Westfjords region of Iceland, this beautiful area is separated from the mainland by a 30-foot-wide isthmus, formed, according to local legend, by three trolls who wanted to live apart from humans. Explore the fascinating maritime museum, which exhibits a dynamic range of unusual nautical paraphernalia. Or perhaps join Zodiac excursions (not included) along the island's majestic coastline, where you can see the glacier-carved green mountains contrasted against the deep-blue colour of the sea.

The Prince Christian Sound is a waterway, which separates the mainland from Sammisoq and other islands of the Cape Farewell Archipelago near the southernmost tip of Greenland. It is a complex network of narrow fjords and channels in southern Greenland, which total over 450km in length. Narrow sharp peaks, some still dappled white with snow and steep cliffs plunge into the fjord on either side.

Today rest at the mouth of the Kvanefjord. Visit the Paamiut Museum, housed in the old trading company buildings, which displays Eskimo and Inuit artifacts, historical photographs and one of the best stone collections in Greenland. Be sure to check out the quality soapstone carvings.

Qaqortoq is one of the most beautiful and festive cities in Greenland and a centre for artisans and festivals. In the summer there is the flower festival, where lush and colorful flowers surround the sparkling icebergs. Every year artists and musicians gather for Qaqortoq National Day, and in 1993 local artist, Aka Hoegh, started "Stone and Man," where artists carve sculptures in boulders around town.

Nanortalik includes some of Greenland's most beautiful fjords, the country's only natural forest and dramatic, rugged mountains. CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
Northern Europe, Copenhagen, Norway & Iceland: 
August is the last month of summer and also brings with it the last of the warmest weather to travel in these areas.
August is also the best time of the year to go to Iceland, the average daytime temperature around the coast during May to September is 10-12°C. A warm summer day would have temperatures around 20°C. Average daily sunshine in August is 5-6 hours and during the summer months the nights are bright.

Greenland:
Greenland has an Arctic climate with average temperatures that do not exceed 10° C (50° F) in the warmest summer months.

Canada: 
September is the start of autumn, turning the countryside golden. It starts to cool down from September onwards. The average daytime temperatures are around 16°C, whereas the average minimum temperatures during the night tend to be around 3°C.

New York: 
September to early November the weather is mild and pleasant. At this time of year, the average temperature for the city is 21°C.


TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide: 
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. 

Tour Leader: 
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. 

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

COACH TOUR
Meals:
Daily breakfast is included in the tour, for all other meals; lunches and dinners the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. You can also enquire about any allergies and food and if necessary advise meals to be to be prepared with any medication you require.

Luggage:
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on the tour. With regards to luggage, you must carry your own luggage from the coach to the hotel room and back to the coach. The driver will assist with the uploading and off-loading of the luggage from the coach.

Gratuities:
Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour price for services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour and are optional at the customers discretion. Tipping for the cruise is mandatory at US $13.50 (approx. $18 AUD) per person/day and will be automatically charged to your onboard account.
