MSC Cruises

After 300 years at sea, MSC Cruises knows the treasures that lie off the beaten path. Their cruises are designed to enrich, delight and create unforgettable experiences. Their well-traveled crew members are ready to help you uncover the best-kept secrets of each new destination. MSC Cruises has a passion for the sea and a commitment to excellence in hospitality, mastering all the details that make each cruise a unique experience while respecting the sea and the environment.
They are the world’s third-largest cruise brand as well as the leader in Europe, South America, the Persian Gulf region and South Africa, with more market share in addition to deployed capacity than any other cruise line. They are also the fastest-growing global cruise brand with a strong presence in The Bahamas, Caribbean, North America and the Far East markets. Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, they are part of MSC Group, the leading privately held Swiss-based shipping and logistics conglomerate with over 300 years of maritime heritage.

MSC Sinfonia

MSC Sinfonia pays homage to the symphonies of the great composers in a thoroughly modern reinterpretation of the classic cruise experience. Stylish designer interiors combine clean lines and every modern comfort with the warmth of traditional natural wood, brass and marble, bringing each stunning venue on this ship its own unique feel.

It is your responsibility to be travel-ready and ensure you comply with any destination or travel requirements, including obtaining all of the required travel documents.

For Australian citizens, check your visa requirements online at Smartraveller or the respective embassy or consulate. As visa rules are subject to change, please check with the relevant embassy or consulate once you receive your documentation to ensure you have the latest information.

Passengers who are not Australian citizens must also check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required.

We suggest you start arranging your visa well in advance of departure to account for any delays due to consulate operating timeframes. TripADeal is not responsible for any passenger’s failure to obtain a visa or if you obtain an incorrect visa.

Pregnant women are highly recommended to seek medical advice prior to travel at any stage of their pregnancy. Women who are up to 23 weeks pregnant at the end of the cruise are required to produce a medical certificate of fitness to travel. The Carrier cannot for health and safety reasons carry pregnant Passengers of 24 weeks or more by the end of the cruise. The Carrier reserves the right to request a medical certificate at any stage of pregnancy and to refuse passage if the Carrier and/or the Master are not satisfied that the Passenger will be safe during the passage.

Failure to inform the Carrier and the Vessel's doctor of pregnancy will release the Carrier from any liability to the pregnant Passenger.

The ship's doctor is not qualified to deliver babies onboard or to offer pre or post natal treatment and no responsibility is accepted by the Carrier in respect of the ability to provide such services or equipment. Pregnant Passengers are referred to the section herein headed medical treatment for information regarding the medical facilities onboard.

• Infants on board

Infants under one year* are admitted on board, except for cruises of 11 nights or longer, when they must be at least one year. This policy is due to long cruises often having multiple days at sea, which can impede our ability to provide urgent medical care for infants.

• Minors on board

Generally, MSC Cruises does not permit minors (those under 21 on U.S. itineraries, or under 18 on others) to occupy a stateroom without the presence of at least one adult. To be considered an adult, passengers must be 18 or 21 years old at the time of embarkation, depending on the itinerary.

However, an exception applies for minors under 18 traveling with one parent or legal guardian, provided the following conditions are met:

  • The parent/legal guardian must specifically request at the time of booking that the minors be assigned a stateroom without an adult and sign a liability waiver. This waiver must be submitted to the Contact Center and taken with the guest for embarkation. Waivers will not be provided at the terminal.
  • The parent/guardian is traveling with two to five minors.
  • The stateroom is occupied by either one minor aged 12 or older, or two minors, with the eldest at least 12 and the youngest at least eight.
  • No more than two minors may occupy a stateroom without an adult.
• For MSC Lirica, Musica, and Fantasia class ships:
  • Parent/guardian and minors must stay in connecting staterooms, and the balcony of the minors' stateroom will be locked.
• For all other MSC ships:
  • The parent or legal guardian and the minor(s) shall be accommodated in connecting staterooms with the minor stateroom’s balcony being locked or in interior adjacent staterooms**.
  • The parent or legal guardian shall be required to purchase a wristband to have access to the stateroom occupied by the minor(s) at any time during the cruise. The wristband along with an informative flyer will be delivered to the parent/legal guardian’s stateroom and the cost will be charged to the parent’s/legal guardian’s onboard account.
• Traveling Alone on U.S. Itineraries

Travelers of all nationalities must be at least 21 years old to travel alone on cruises embarking from or traveling to the U.S. However, guests aged 18–20 may stay in a stateroom alone if traveling with a parent or legal guardian, without needing to meet the additional stateroom requirements.

Full details are in our Booking Terms and Conditions and Conditions of Carriage. All policy exceptions need to be managed directly through our Contact Center. This will not be able to be done through MSC Book.

* Infants are permitted on 11-night cruises or longer only if they turn one year old on or before the day of embarkation.

** “Adjacent staterooms” is defined as two staterooms, at least one without a balcony, which have no more than 3 staterooms between them, and that pertain to the same assembly station and corridor. “Connecting staterooms” is defined as two staterooms that are connected by an internal door.

Smoking is prohibited inside the staterooms or balconies. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas such as cigar room or left side of the pool deck.
