Too many highlights to mention! Enjoyed the sights, culture, history and people of Japan during this Grand Tour. Lucky enough to see Mount Fuji on a clear day and enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The itinerary was full but there were several ‘free and easy’ days if you didn’t want to take the optional tours. Hotel choices were mixed, with some spacious but others were more ‘squeezy’! All were comfortable and clean, but it would be good if all the rooms had adjustable air con - some were centrally controlled (and hot) and others not effective in cooling warm rooms. Both our tour guide and driver were great; nothing was too much trouble and our guide Kenta went above and beyond every day to show us the best locations, restaurants, and shops. As a suggestion, it would be great if the group could be supplied with headsets during walking tours as much of what the guide pointed out was only audible to those closest to him - though he was happy to repeat it. Finally, our coach was comfortable with only 35 on board for this tour, but most of the USB charging points were inoperable; this presented a challenge for those without battery packs. Apart from these opportunities for improvement, we highly recommend this tour of Japan as great value for money; we will definitely return.
We enjoyed the added excursions especially Shirakawa go and Takayama. The highlight of our trip would have to be the boat trip where we were able to clearly see Mt.Fuji was stunning. There is room for improvement when boarding and disembarking the bus. Many areas required a long walk with cases. At one stop the bus driver was photographed in a regular bus zone, was flustered and our luggage was put into the flowing gutters, it was raining. Given there were some elderly passengers I feel Trip a Deal should negotiate with neighboring businesses to allow for a ten minute bus stop.
Exceptional value, a special mention to our 3 guides, Nina, Maria and Jack. All provided in-depth details around their specific locations. Our last guide Jack went above and beyond on a number of occasions at all times. This was much appreciated by all. There was only one negative, one of the motels we stayed in, the Snowy Sea Hotel was very smoky, for a non smokers it was not pleasant. The corridors and rooms all smelt of smoke. It was overwhelming. Air conditioning in the rooms did not work to cool the room down, it just seemed to circulate the smell of cigarette smoke, we had to get portable fans to provide cooling. Other than this one negative the trip was excellent and highly recommended.
Absolutely loved every second of this amazing holiday. Tour guides were fabulous and trio flowed seamlessly !! Can’t rate this trip high enough!!
Tour guide Thanh and the driver on the first (core) part of the tour based around travel to and from Hanoi were excellent and provided extra insights and activities beyond that in the published itinerary. The accommodation whilst of a reasonable standard could do with a review as some hotels were a bit tired and in need of an update - we selected the upgraded level of accommodation and more modern hotels would better meet expectations for this selection. Tour guide Annie in Hoi An was also very good and provided support in undertaking additional activities and tips for shopping and travel around town.
We loved the 5 star African Safari and Cape Town add on. All flights, airport transfers went very smoothly and the accommodation selections were of high quality. The tours and activities were all excellent with great experienced tour guides. We were so lucky as saw heaps of animals including 4 of the big 5 - very exciting. The food was delicious and very interesting as it included local delicacies.
Loved everything about the trip..the people we traveled with, the guides were excellent, the hotel rooms were amazing, however there was too many train trips which were exhausting. I wasn’t impressed with Eastern air, the planes were cramped and the food was awful, but the staff were beautiful
We had enjoyed warrior trip and had a great time . The optional trip to Shaolin Kungfu has been our highlight . The walking trail up to Songsan was not difficult and very rewarding with the amazing rippled mountains view ❤️ Great tour guides and special mention to Alice who guide us from Hangzhou to Shanghai. Alice is amazing, very professional and caring 👍
Accommodation was really good, all clean and great facilities. Inclusions, activities and itinerary was great. The tour leader and support crew (bus driver & assistant) were professional and outstanding in all areas.
This was our first TripADeal holiday and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the tour and especially the accommodation If we had a complaint it would be associated with the river cruise boat. In particular the food. We paid for upgraded cabin and food with the cabin being excellent but the food could not be considered an upgrade It was Chinese buffet, morning, lunch and dinner with many of our fellow travellers equally disappointed If I had another suggestion I would say that an extra day or two in the itinerary would be great for older people (majority) as the pace was somewhat gruelling and everyone has gone home very tired
Our 3rd trip. Guide exvellent. Smoorh running
The guide and bus driver we had were excellent. The guide was extremely understanding and informative. Some venues were of extreme interest and we could have spent longer there. The museum at Hiroshima is one venue deserving of longer time. Some other venues were of little interest to us but we’re well received by others. Eh the fish markets. Accommodation was of varying quality but generally satisfactory although cramped. Most hotels did not have a bar which made socialising with the whole group impossible. We enjoyed our experience on the whole.
Absolutely amazing trip. We had so much fun. Excellent knowledgeable guides. It's thd 1st time travelling 5 star. We were looked after so well. We definitely want to visit Vietnam and Cambodia again Thankyou for an amazing experience. This is our 3rd Tripadeal and we will definitely be doing more.
Tour guide (Kenta) was excellent, went well above and beyond to offer his knowledge and help with challenges such as finding food for dietary requirements. Amano the driver was great too and navigated some challenges areas and bus parking. All sites visited were good. Hotels were of acceptable quality but some were small, with single beds for couples and not much room for luggage, while others were larger with king size beds. The bus microphone cut out at times. More communication required for amount of walking involved. We were fine with it but there were others, more elderly, who were surprised with the amount of walking on some of the activities such as the maiko dinner.
The entire trip was well planned and executed and all the local guide in each city was very well knowledge and helpful. The highlights of my trip would be the visit to the terracotta army museum and the great wall. Would be good if the meals included in the Xi'an and Beijing optional tours could be more of local dishes rather than cater to suit western palette. In this case the traveller would have a chance to sample authentic local flavour.
Our guide ( Danny) and driver were excellent. The itinerary was excellent with lots of interesting places. The optional tours were very good. Suggestions - some of the hotels were a bit of a challenge as in a few there was only 1 lift which was very frustrating at the end of a long day to have to queue up for a period of time before getting to rooms. One hotel the breakfast was not satisfactory - it was a self serve cold sandwich and drink. That is not acceptable. A number of guests felt that 4 hours in Osaka food street ( Dotombori) and shopping area was far too long. 3 hours would have been more than sufficient to have lunch and do some shopping. I did discuss this with the tour guide.
Great Packed holiday
We have just returned from this trip and we had a wonderful time. Our guide, Kentaro was passionate and was always happy to help out. We loved the locations of our motels as most were within walking distance to sights, food places or local transport. Some rooms were small. but that was to be expected. In fact, most of our rooms were larger than I thought they would have been. This trip gave us plenty of opportunities to take optional tours or do our own thing, which suits our style of travel. We had some iconic experiences that were either optional or ones we organised ourselves including dinner with a geisha, attending a sumo wrestling show, riding the bullet train, seeing castles, temples and shrines, checking out the markets and the list goes on. We saw the traditional and the modern. There were plenty of opportunities to find food at the bus stops on the day trips, although I felt we could have skipped the bus stop and spent more time in the next town and had lunch there. Kentaro would also recommend where to eat and what local foods to try. Kentaro was a great guide, as he helped us explore with confidence, teaching us some useful words and phrases, explaining what the different types of food were, giving us a lesson in using chopsticks, informing us of customs associated with accessing the public baths, and so on. All in all, I would recommend this trip to anyone wishing to visit Japan.
The country, the culture and people in Japan are interesting and this tour was a variation on visits I've made to Japan before. A large group is by necessity more structured than a small group to manage, however we might have allocated more time to the larger venues for example Nikko Toshogo Shrine, Matsumoto area and the Hakodate area. Some stops for example Nara-Kyoto and Kumamoto Castle were too rushed and needed more time. More detailed information about locations and in a couple of places an area map (eg in Otaru) would have improved the experience. Highlights - food, culture, people, scenery. Maiko dinner booked with the tour, other experiences booked independently outside the tour were highlights. Our tour leader did an effective job, but appeared to struggle with the group sense of humour and how he related to the group. The bus driver was excellent and it was noticed how often the tour leader related to him for information on locations. For planning prior to the tour, I was pleased I did not plan too much detail as it was not possible to judge (other than the Free Days) how much time was going to be available at venues.
Reasonably relaxed pace plenty of free time. Transfer bus went without us to OR Tambo.
We thought the trip was well organised, maybe a lay day would help to recharge your batteries. The tour guide Mr King was fabulous along with Mr Bruce, they both knew our needs and made sure everyone kept up as a group when walking. One big down side was queuing up for the Tiananmen square for 2 1/2 hrs. All of us complained of leg and back ache which for some of us continued for several days.. We should have been asked to introduce ourselves to the group, we ended the tour not knowing some peoples names. Bus seats rotation was also lacking. Food was very good with most meals being enjoyed by everyone.
The tour was unforgettable. The cherry blossoms 🌸 were absolutely magical. Everything was very well organised. Big buses were very comfortable, with free WiFi and charges. Our tour guide, Grace was absolute delight, she told us a lot about Japanese history and culture as well as everyday life. She was very attentive and helpful, even stayed an extra time in a lobby of the hotel in case we need help. She vertically held our hands every step of the way, which made it so much easier. Would be happy to recommend the tour 👍
Great variety of locations, showcasing history, temples and shrines, architecture and fun. Yuka is a great tour leader and the drivers were excellent. They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic holiday. Thanks particularly to Yuka.
Our group of 31 had the very best Tour Guide and Bus Driver. As a guest I learned so much about Japan from our wonderful Guide, and I had the utmost trust in our very professional and capable bus driver. The itinerary was awesome and we were blessed with beautiful weather. The hotels were fantastic!! Thank you TAD!!
This was a great holiday - would highly recommend. Sigiriya Lions Rock Fortress was amazing - absolutely worth those 1200 stairs. We loved most things on tour highlights were Elephant Safari, Horton Plains, stilt fishermen in Galle. Finishing trip in Maldives - Cinnamon Velafushi was just a magical and relaxing place. We could not complain about hotels or food - especially all-inclusive in Maldives - was unexpectedly awesome. Thanks, Trip a Deal for a great holiday.
Loved the trip. Enjoyed all the sightseeing. Would like to have spent more time at each attraction. Ben was a wonderful tour guide and very knowledgable. He was able to herd us without us realising what he was doing. Also he added humour to his talks which made it more personable.
Highlights : At Alisan we had to split into 2 groups for a smaller bus to takes us up to Gong Zhen Shou Temple. As Ben took the 1st group of 15 people he entrusted me the 2nd group of 18 people. I felt so proud to assist. Ben was very professional and knowledgeable with Taiwan history.
Everything, the hotels, the excursions, the guides, loved it all, thankyou! Upgraded the flights to singapore airlines, fantastic! Up graded the hotels also fantastic as they had laundry service, excellent rooms, great restaurants with amazing staff and breakfast included every day, which was generous and delicious including all cuisines, again the most gracious staff, (Australians could take a few lessons from these people). Excursions were informative and well organised, anyone with bad knees ( like me) were helped and looked after. I would encourage anyone to book this tour as i had an absolutely fabulous time and the long island cocktails were to die for, thank you so much Tripadeal !
Our guide Ben was fantastic. Our driver Mr Ko was great. Our highlight was Mt Fuji and to see it from the lake was amazing. And of course the Cherry Blossoms were lovely. Your choice of hotel locations were great as in easy access to shops to find food and any other shopping.
Ben was a delightful tour guide The Cherry Blossoms were amazing It was a bit rushed but understand there is a time schedule to adhere too
Accommodation was excellent (solo supplement). The guide is South Korea was caring and excellent. The guide in Japan was adequate. A bit too cold, I would travel later in the year.
The whole tour was good, was busy but to see everything we had to The 4 tour guides were great, Zui was so much fun and so helpful
Key tourist centres like terracotta warriors, forbidden city, summer palace... Tour guides Kung, Richard and Jojo were amazing, very informative and helpful. More options to see museums would have been great - that is, to give participants a choice between shopping and museums, some being next door to each other.
The guides, Nina, Richard and David were excellent. Very knowledgeable and caring for our group. Excellent accommodation and great breakfasts. Great value for money.
Highlights were the wall, the warriors & all things ancient. The history, the culture, the food & was also impressed with the modern architecture & how they manage their growing population. Our guides Vicky, Jesse & Sunny done a fantastic job, working very hard to ensure all of the guests had a great experience, they shared their stories, their jokes, their country & their culture, can’t praise these ladies enough, they were great.
Thank you for a fabulous holiday, we received such a great variety of sights and experiences. Our guides were amazing and the people of China were so welcoming. The people of China were so organised and courteous making few crowded areas easy and not stressful. Well done TripADeal and China
Loved the places we were taken to ,the accommodation was times were was fantastic over all had a wonderful time 😄 Airlines was fantastic 😍 tour guide was brilliant,so was driver will definitely use trip a Deal again 😀
All of our guides Vicki, Jessica and Sunny were superb. Nothing was too hard for them. Food was fantastic. Itinerary was packed and busy but great. Bus drivers are worth thier weight in gold. Great value for money.
I enjoyed the tour very much the guides went out of their way to look after us and I left wanting to learn more about China so I am planning on another trip.
The tour was very well organised and ran smoothly. We had 3 different tour guides as we travelled from South Vietnam up to the North. Each guide had a lovely personality and answered all our questions in great detail. The accommodation was always in the city centre and within easy walking distance to the major attractions. We are now planning our next trip, probably to either China or Japan.
We loved our holiday. It was such a well organised tour with fabulous guides and drivers. Everything went as planned. I do think that some of the hikes and treks we did was a lot harder than we expected especially in the high altitude. We are fit and healthy but if we weren’t the walks and hikes would have been quite a challenge and I think there should have been more information about this. It was an extremely exhausting holiday but loved every bit of it.
Rainbow our last guide was simply the best, she was happy, informative and made our holiday very special indeed. Rainbow took the time to explain everything clearly and her historical knowledge was amazing, she assisted our less mobile group members in every aspect, I cannot express our happiness enough that we got Rainbow for the second time running as we have done this trip three times now! Rainbow was certainly our highlight. The trip was truly amazing and great value for money , dropping off to sites has improved as much closer than last time. More meals included and very good and tasty and very reasonable. Till we meet again Much love Helen & Ken Taylor
From arriving in Beijing to leaving Shanghai our guides were always there and so helpful. We saw everything we wanted to and so much more. The buses were so comfortable. The hotels were above our expectations for the price. One of the best holidays we have had and we’re keen to book another. Definitely recommend this tour to anyone! Thankyou to King in Beijing, Richard in Xi’an and Jo Jo in Shanghai - above and beyond hospitality.
Activities were well organized. We enjoyed most of the activities especially Mt Fuji, the bamboo forest, Hiroshima, Nara, Kyoto, Iwakuni-Yokoyama and Yufuinchokawakami. Some of the market/shopping malls was outside our comfort zone to handle. At Narai-jukuwe we arrived too late to support the local historical shops after spending a number of hours at the wasabi farm. The airport pickup was a frustration because our group had to wait hours for another two flight passengers to join us. After all the flying and transfer time it was really frustrating to wait an extra 3 hours.
We loved every minute of our holiday to the mountains. The highlights were the Ban Gioc waterfalls, the Hmong Village and the Lo Lo Village. And of course some free time to explore vibrant Hanoi. Finishing with an overnight on Halong Bay was a perfect wind down to a busy tour. The hotels were above the level we expected for this tour. Our bus driver and our tour guide Hiep were amazing, very professional but also friendly and well organised. Would highly recommend.
Great to start off busy and finish with slower pace on beautiful island. Guides were helpful and informative. Transport always on time.
The guides were fantastic and very helpful Vanessa in Beijing organised power packs and any questions were no problems. Lily in Xi’an was very knowledgeable and provided great background & history on the sites Jojo in Shanghai made the trip she was so funny and nothing was too much trouble JoJo is one of the best guides have had on a tour and would highly recommend. The highlights for me were The Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors & the pandas. Everything else was a bonus with some beautiful sites and lots to see. I travelled solo and made friends straight away was always included in activities we had a great group of people. Did all the added extras and had no regrets enjoyed them all. Would highly recommend this trip to everyone great value for money.
Had a great trip. It all ran smoothly & we had a memorable holiday. Special thanks to our tour guide Dragon who ensured we were kept well informed at all times and manoeuvred us around Japan so well.
Wonderful food and weather and the fabulous Mr Kim and Flora Lee to introduce us to the very diverse South Korea. A very busy tour with plenty of free time to go on a treasure hunt in Insadong and we were so lucky to stay in the heart of Insadong. Would highly recommend this trip.
This was our first Trip A Deal Holiday and wow... you did not disappoint! We weren't sure what to expect because of the price point but the holiday far exceeded our expectation. The information prior to departure was great, a little more time would have been helpful to assisted us to arrange visas. Our first desination was Beijing and the highlight was definately the visit to The Great Wall. Extra time here would have been time well spent. The Beijing family dinner was incredible, so much effort and love had been poured into the delicious dishes. The bullet train was a good experience and got us safely to our next desination. Xian - The Terracotta Warriors - a must see and will leave you speechless. Our final desination was Shanghai - a great finish to what can only be decribed as a trip of a lifetime. The group that we toured with were the friendliness bunch and I'm sure we have made some like long friends. And finally I need to commend the tour guides... Vanessa, Lily and Jojo. You would be hardpressed to find a more professional, helpful and caring group. Nothing was too much trouble, from the speedy check-ins at each hotel, to the recommendations of good places to eat, escorting us to the ATM and assisting to order Uber eats when we arrived back at the hotel late at night. Their knowledge and passion for their culture and their jobs was something to behold. A special shout out to Jojo who referred to our group at the Jojo family and she certainly made us feel part a family with her caring nature, sense of humor and attention to detail. The way she delivered information was very engaging and she even managed to tell a few Aussie jokes which had the group in fits of laughter. Thank you Jojo for making our trip one we will never forget. We will definately be booking another holiday with you Trip A Deal.
Our Cherry Blossom tour was amazing and Joey our guide had excellent knowledge and was very funny. It is fast paced as we wanted to see everything we could so we were tired at the end of the trip. We have a great time, meet some lovely people and saw the Cherry Blossom's in full bloom on our last day.
Perfect trip. Great value. Wonderful guide and driver. It’s the reason we’ve done five Tripas in three years
Loved everything about the trip except that the optional tours weren't optional.
The whole trip was stress free and the accomodations were good. The guide for both trips were knowledgeable and helpful. It would be nice to include sufficient time for shopping (without having to pay extra).
Our trip to Japan was truly unforgettable, filled with breathtaking sights and wonderful experiences. one of the most memorable moments was witnessing the natural beauty of Mount Fuji and cherry blossoms-an absolutely magical scene. We also had an amazing time at Tokyo Disneyland, where the atmosphere was lively and full of joy, making it fun and memorable experience. Another highlight was visiting the famous Hachiko Statue in Shibuya, which was a meaningful and iconic stop during our trip. Riding the Shinkansen (bullet train) was an incredible experience, smooth and very efficient, making travel between cities so convenient. The food in Japan was exceptional-from fresh sushi and comforting ramen to delicious street food, every meal was a treat. Shopping was equally exciting, with vibrant areas offering everything from trendy finds to unique souvenirs. We also loved exploring Japan's beautiful temples, especially in Kyoto, where the peaceful atmosphere and traditional architecture gave a deeper appreciation of the country's rich culture and history. What stood out most was how safe and clean, everything felt throughout the trip. The people were incredibly polite, respectful and helpful, which made our experience even more enjoyable and memorable. We truly appreciated the rich culture of Japan- from traditions to everyday experiences. Our tourist guide and driver were excellent, making the journey smooth and enjoyable throughout. The accommodation was also outstanding, providing comfort and a perfect place to relax after each day of exploring. Overall, it was beautiful, excellent and enriching holiday that we will always cherish.
China! What an amazing country and we were able to see so much of the country! We loved everything about the trip! So relaxing and fun! We loved learning about the history from the tour guides. Our hotels were excellent and in great locations.
IGood guide good itinerary Highlight visiting country areas & clear view of Mt Fuji & cherry tres blossoming
Most of the experiences on this trip were excellent. Highlights included Kyoto by the sea, Meiji Shrine, views of Mt. Fuji, the scenic train ride through the hills, the thousands of torii gates, and the traditional tea ceremony. All of the accommodations were very comfortable, and breakfast options offered a great variety of food. A special mention goes to our tour director, Leslie, who was absolutely fantastic and made the entire experience even more enjoyable.
Top marks to Trip-A-Deal for a fantastic, well organised, well paced holiday. Highlights are definitely the quality of the hotels, the knowledge of the tour guides and the organisation of hotel rooms and baggage, just amazing. There was very little for us to worry about as everything was relayed to us well as per pick up times, meeting places and day planning. The bus transport was excellent with a full 40 seater bus dedicated to our group of 16, it made it very comfortable. A really enjoyable trip.
the boat cruise
Our guide Phillip, was excellent. Very personable, knowledgeable, and read the group well. He made long travel days enjoyable with anecdotes and interesting facts. He went out of his way on more than one occasion to help members on the tour with all sorts of requests. He is a passionate tour guide, sincere in his approach and eager to make sure everyone was accommodated and had a good time.
Loved all the locations we visted, highlights were MT Fuji and Hiroshima Musuem.
From the moment we arrived to departure, I cannot fault the organisation and the amazing tour guides. The trip was well planned and we saw the most amazing sights. It was very busy, not a lot of rest time.. but that how we prefer our holidays. We did the 13 day extension Vietnam holiday and I have fallen in love with the country and the Vietnam people. We will definitely be heading back. I cannot highly recommended Trip a Deal enough. I was able to pay off my holiday over 12 months - as a single mum this made a holiday for our family possible. And the communication and correspondence leading up to our trip was amazing. Thank you so much. This holiday has been my favourite holiday to date.
Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors excellent tour guides
Exciting itinerary- real bucket list experiences in particular the Amazon jungle, Machu Picchu ruins, Iguazu Falls & Christ the Redeemer - all sensational. All tours in each country were very well organised.
The Sri Lankan Culture , food accomodation.Being in the hands of an experienced female tour leader , a safe driver and an attentive bus assistant . The small group size ov the tour .Returning home via heaven on Earth the Maldives .. a chance to relax , experience beautiful natural surroundings eat drink and be merry before heading for home.
All accommodation was good and very well located. It was great to visit all the major attractions in the countries we visited with Machu Puchu and Iguazo Falls absolutely fascinating! We chose the Santiago pre stay and optional tours that were well worth it. Our guide Rueben in Peru was excellent.
Everything it was great
To many Shrines, and getting back to our hotel too late to find some ware to eat, Otherwise very happy with the trip Janice.
Small group Quality guides Accommodation and meals were good Very good activities Length of time in one place 3 nights and 4 nights
This is our second tour with Trip a Deal and we had an incredible experience on the Ultimate Japan tour, with so many unforgettable highlights. The itinerary was well thought out and offered a fantastic mix of cultural, historical, and scenic experiences. Standout moments included visiting the temples and shrines in Kyoto, the breathtaking views of Mt Fuji, the shopping malls of Osaka, and the sheer energy and contrast of Tokyo. The bullet train journeys were a real highlight in themselves—fast, smooth, and a great way to see the countryside. We particularly loved the opportunity to experience traditional Japanese culture, from the food to the accommodation and the friendliness of the locals. The organisation of the tour was excellent, and our guide Hiro was knowledgeable, approachable, and ensured everything ran smoothly. As for suggestions, a little more time in Tokyo than just the one day would have been appreciated. Overall, this was a fantastic trip and a great introduction to Japan—we would highly recommend it to others.
The whole trip was excellent as we were able to see Mount Fuji without cloud cover, the markets were great and the accommodation was superb. The overnight ferry trip was relaxing, and we hardly felt the ship move. One thing we did not have to go too far from out hotels to access a restaurant, cafe or market. All told the trip was worth the money. The tour guide (Philip) provided us with an entertaining commentary and was very attentive toward the passengers. He went above and beyond what we expected.
Loved the tour and our tour guide Gerard. Favourite parts where Langkawi, Georgetown and KL. The hotels were all brilliant except for Citadines. My suggestions to change would be one full day and night in Cameron Highlands making it a very full on day. We all loved Ipoh and wish we could have stayed there a night. Got up first thing for the orangatang sanctuary and the more time in Georgetown. First trip a deal and will definitely do more.
10 out of 10 for tour, drivef and tour guide Kito was very good at his job Would recommend trip a deal
Our guide Arai was the best. He shared a lot of great information about Japan with us and was also very kind, caring and helpful. We really enjoyed our holiday in Japan thanks to Arai. We would have preferred direct flights to Japan and back.
The tour was planned, extra tours included. The guide was good and attentive and answered all questions and communicated throughout on WhatsApp even after hours. The improvement I would suggest is to try to get the group to the hotel at a reasonable time for some quality downtime. I found some nights there was not enough time to explore as we got in late then departed after breakfast.
Our guide Miyaki was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to assist the group with extra requests. The tour was a great pace with free time and extra options.
I loved the old Kyoto, Hakone and Mount Fuji, which we were privileged to see. Our guide was great and a great asset to the holiday. Her knowledge and generosity in answering questions was amazing. Even though some of the hotel rooms were compact, they provided everything you need, which was welcomed.
Our tour guide, Runa-san made us feel so welcomed, and taught us so much about Japan it makes me and my fiancé want to come back for more! Not only did Runa and our ichiban bus driver, Hiro Hiyashi-san, made the entire trip fun but we felt completely safe, secure and confident in our travels always on time and with a smile! During our travels, Runa-san taught us about what makes Japan thrive going into detail not only on the historical aspects of the sites we’ve seen but also explained the cultural aspects of what it is to be Japanese and what really makes them thrive as a industrous and proud nation. It was truly fascinating. What really stood out most of all is she helped coordinate an unforgettable marriage proposal moment with my now future husband at the Fushimi Nori Tori Gates! Runa-san not only was an amazing tour guide, she made every moment, everyday in Japan feel really special! We miss her and Japan already!
Loved all the experience on offer (except the Golden Brick Museum). Favourites were the Terracotta Warriors, The Great Wall, The River Cruise
Great day tours wonderful guide Eric n good bunch of people in the group
We loved our hostess Janice , she was the most amazing tour guide .The whole trip was amazing. The highlight was Osaka . We extended our holiday by 3 nights stayed near Ueno park all the cherry blossoms have come to life Regards Heidi & Steve Randall Thank you Janice
We loved Robinson Noonu, it’s spectacular and the staff are amazing, they can’t do enough for guests. The food was exceptional, fresh with variety each day. It was all inclusive except for the mini bar and there was entertainment every night. Our overwater bungalow with pool was beautiful, we snorkeled right outside seeing sharks, turtles, stingrays and a multitude of fish. It’s a stunning island with magnificent sunrises and sunsets. We flew Malaysian airlines, they were on time and functional. The lounge at Male airport which served food and drinks either end was helpful after long flights and early starts. The seaplane added to the experience.
Accommodation was very good. The holiday was great.
The tour leader was exceptional - the best we have ever had. She went above and beyond every day and set the right mood in the group. Everyone followed and we had a ball!
Trip a Deal’s Ultimate Vietnam is a great way to experience the variations of geography, life, history and culture between the North, Centre and south of Vietnam. While visiting known tourist destinations we were also taken to rural areas giving us a more intimate experience with the local people. E.g. rowing a boat with the feet and interacting with the Hmong women and children. Lee was an exceptional guide sharing his love of the North, his own family background and appreciation of the local people. When I fell and aggravated an injury he took me to a private hospital in Hanoi where I received exemplary care (x rays, ultrasounds, voucher for lunch, discount because I was a senior, with interpreters accompanying me and translating for doctors.) Relieved, I hadn’t done major damage I was able to complete the tour. Huy was a very special guide in Central Vietnam. His awareness of my imitations was really appreciated especially when walking through the grounds of the Imperial Palace and learning about the history of Vietnam. He shared images of his recent marriage (a flooded day which meant a change in venues) and introduced us to some of the coffees Vietnam specialises in. An experience I enjoyed was going to collect sone special tailoring on the back of his scooter. Very safe. In Saigon guide Ni ushered us through the Chu Chi Tunnels and a trip to the Mekong, again experiencing local village entertainment, food, farms, produce and customs. Like Lee and Hoy, Ni pointed out significant places to visit or eat making negotiating bustling commercial city like Saigon manageable for us. What was outstanding was the way each of the guides warmly related to we Aussie travellers, answered our questions and did more than was expected of them. Do your research and be prepared for Vietnam to speak to you. Joan and Carol
We loved the main attractions, optional free day tours, breakfast buffets, especially at the ART Hotel in Narita, and accommodation locations, particularly the central location in Tokyo. Our tour guide was patient, courtesy and always helpful. He gave valuable insight into Japanese culture and useful tips on etiquette and on travelling in Japan. An extra day in Kyoto would have been great; to allow us to partake in a tea ceremony and visit the older tradional district. Kyoto has so much Japanese history to immerse the tourist in that you don't have time to experience it if you take up the optional tours. Another improvement for when arriving late to new accommodation is assistance with the evening meal. Whether it is a list of recommended eateries nearby or an evening meal voucher to a eatery within motel or nearby. Best parts of the tour included the temples. Each one was unique, with the golden temple (Kinkaku-ji Buddhist temple) a standout. Also, the cherry blossoms at Ueno Park were spectacular, which only happened thanks to our flexible tour leader who worked overtime for us to capture a glimpse of them in bloom before leaving Japan. And of course one could not forget the viewing of Mt Fuji for the first time which was memorable. An incredible view and a simply majestic mountain presence. Arigato gazaimasu!
Loved the wildlife we encountered during the tour especially the boat tours at Sukau. Our guide Clay was extremely knowledgeable not only about the wildlife but also where most likely to be found. I also appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the Sandakan death march and especially to meet Mr Charuruka AM, OBE at the memorial in Kundasang.
Too long to get to Tokyo hours in between Shanghai & Japan far too much in between - Food on China plane not very good could be done more simpler - the tourist guide from Monday morning to end was superb & bus driver exceptional- the tour was great would have preferred less walking but buses could not get in closer for the more elderly - Mt Fuji & temples gardens & the deer great overall lots to see a good idea of Japan people extremely polite
Learning about Japanese history and culture from a wonderful tour guide.
We thoroughly enjoyed each one of our optional excursions but some places would like more time to look around. Everything was well organised and we weren't left waiting around.
Guide and driver both provided exceptional service. Accommodation standard much higher than anticipated for the cost of the holiday. Great service from hotel staff too. Beautiful scenery, good balance of activity and rest time. Loved it!
The itinerary was great we saw so much in such a short time. Well organised. Stayed in great locations. Had free time as well as tours. Favourite part was seeing snow for the first time i didnt expect to even see it. Great price to.
Well organised, very affordable, great guide
Great group of only 16 people. A good mix of tours and free time. Accommodation was great. The 3 nights stay at Koh Rong Samloem was absolutely divine. Always difficult when tour guides change as part of the fun is to build relationships with the guide. I recommend keeping all tours at a similar sized group. 16 people was great.
Our guide, Hans, was fantastic. His sense of humour and advice was a major contributor to a great trip. He made what must be a stressful job look easy. We enjoyed the entire trip. The only negative would be various hotel breakfasts, especially the last hotel.
Well organized trip. The driver, tour guide and the assistant are excellent. To see Taj Mahal is on my bucket list.
Pace was great, weather excellent and we got to see all the key highlights with a great tour guide...so friendly and an excellent driver. He got us places in good time noting the distances and amount of traffic, with safety first. He always greeted every passenger when getting off the bus and also when getting back on, with acknowledgement and smile. The trip was all as promised plus more. Excellent group of people which made a memorable tour.
Well organised Saw much of the country Guides great Would have liked to avoid the commercial shops we were taken to A few more free days/afternoons would be good in Hoi An
