Welcome to Darwin! Upon arrival make your way to your accommodation. Check-in opens at 2:00pm leaving the afternoon free to explore your surroundings.

After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Litchfield National Park. Litchfield National Park contains several types of typical Top End habitats including lush monsoon forests, termite mounds, unusual rock formations, waterfalls and cascades. First stop of the day is Florence Falls, where you have the opportunity for a scenic and interpretive bush and monsoon vine forest walk. There is also the chance for a swim by making your way down the stairs to the plunge pool below. Travel on to Tolmer Falls for a magnificent view of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole at the base of the falls. To finish the day you will visit Wangi Falls, with its large crystal clear pool, another relaxing spot for a swim. A great day for taking many fascinating photos, including the amazing termite mounds.

Today is yours to explore Darwin at your leisure – stroll the Esplanade, visit the many galleries or museums, take in a spot of souvenir shopping or simply relax at your accommodation.

After breakfast, enjoy the morning at your leisure. Perhaps make your way down to the waterfront and enjoy the tropical Darwin weather. Much of Darwin’s action happens along its revitalised waterfront, which is lined with restaurants, shops, sandy lagoons and parklands. This afternoon, your jumping croc adventure begins. Just 60 km from Darwin lies the Adelaide River, home to more than 1600 crocodiles and the location of the famous Jumping Crocodiles. Travel down the Stuart Highway to the Adelaide River. On arrival enjoy a cruise down the river and experience the thrill as these awesome creatures launch themselves out of the water. The cruise will enable you to see these prehistoric creatures at close range. Afterwards continue to the Window on the Wetlands Visitor Centre for views over the Marrakai Plains, and then it’s onto Fogg Dam Nature Reserve to see the wetland ecosystem up close.

After breakfast be transferred to the train station to begin your Ghan Rail experience. Settle in to the comforts of The Ghan, relax in your cabin or mingle with fellow travellers in the Outback Explorer Lounge. Enjoy lunch ahead of your first Off Train Excursion in Katherine. In a region, renowned for jaw-dropping natural assets, Katherine boasts one of the Top End’s best – the incredible Nitmiluk Gorge lies within the massive 292,000 hectares of the Nitmiluk National Park, and you have the chance to explore it from the water with guided cruise options.

Tour Guide: 
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. 
Tour Leader: 
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. 
Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured. 
December is the hottest month in Darwin with an average temperature of 30°C and the coldest is July at 24°C with the most daily sunshine hours at 10 in October. 
Alice Springs
In spring the weather begins to warm up with average temperatures between 13.8 - 30.6°C. In summer average temperatures range from 20 - 35°C, you are more likely to experience rainfall during summer, however the climate is considered dry for most of the year.
11 meals are included in the tour, for all other meals; lunches and dinners the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. It is your responsibility to notify TripADeal of any dietary requests/requirements. Please note; we will do our best to meet your requests/requirements, however cannot guarantee that we will always be able to.
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on the tour. With regards to luggage, you must carry your own luggage from the coach to the hotel room and back to the coach. The driver will assist with the uploading and off-loading of the luggage from the coach.
Fitness Level Required / Mobility:
Our vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair access, so unfortunately our tours are currently not suitable for wheelchair users and those less mobile.

Gratuities / Tipping:
