Welcome to Zurich, upon arrival be met by a representative and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day will be at leisure.

After breakfast enjoy a walking tour of Zurich. See Grossmünster, the old Romanesque church, symbol of reformed Zurich, the Fraumünster, an old Gothic church (former convent) with window paintings made by Marc Chagall. In the afternoon travel to Lake Constance. Lake Constance (known as Bodensee in German) is a 63km-long central European lake bordering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Taking in meadows and vineyards, orchards and wetlands, beaches and Alpine foothills, the lake’s landscapes are like a ‘greatest hits’ of European scenery.

This morning after breakfast, check out before travelling onwards to Lucerne. Enjoy the sights of Lake Zurich as you depart this stunning city. Arriving in Lucerne, famous for its preserved medieval architecture, you will get to see Lucerne’s famous landmarks including Chapel Bridge and the Water Tower.

After breakfast continue your journey to Freiburg, the 'jewel of the black forest'. This medieval city sits on the western edge of the Black Forest in the Upper Rhine. The city is known for its medieval minster and Renaissance university. It is situated in the heart of the major Baden wine-growing region and serves as the primary entry point to the scenic beauty of the Black Forest. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring Gothic sandstone cathedral, Chug German suds at a local brewery, or take an optional cable car up Schauinsland mountain (not included), where astounding views and a solar observatory await.

Today enjoy a full day visit of the Black Forest, a mountainous region in southwest Germany, that has vineyards, river valleys, sunny peaks, wide panoramic views, calm forests, revitalising spas. Known for its dense, evergreen forests and picturesque villages, it is often associated with the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Today, it is renowned for its spas and the cuckoo clocks produced in the region since the 1700s. Afterwards continue to Triberg im Schwarzwald, home to the world's largest cuckoo clock, before returning to Freiburg for the night.

After breakfast drive to Basel, the city on the Rhine River in Switzerland, close to the country’s borders with France and Germany. Its medieval old town centres around Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th-century, red-sandstone Town Hall. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure in Basel.

After breakfast enjoy the morning at leisure in of Basel. Around Midday transfer to the port for embarkation on the 7 night Rhine river cruise. The friendly crew will be awaiting your arrival. Speyer is a town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and is located beside the river Rhine. It was founded by the Roman’s in 10 BCE, making it one of Germany's oldest cities. Mannheim lies at the confluence of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is rare among German cities for its layout; a grid pattern (or “quadrates”) similar to those found in North America. The grid was originally plotted in 1606 and emanated from Friedrichsburg Fortress, which later became the site of Mannheim Palace. Today, it partly houses the University of Mannheim. The water tower and beautiful Luisenpark are must-sees.

This morning arrive in Rüdesheim, a winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge, know especially for Riesling wines. In the centre, Drosselgasse is a lane lined with shops, taverns and restaurants. Medieval Brömserburg Castle is home to the Rheingau Wine Museum, exhibiting wine paraphernalia from ancient times to the present. After lunch spend time on deck as we cruise the most beautiful section of the river, the legendary Upper Middle Rhine Valley. In the afternoon, begin the short journey to Coblenz and arrive at approximately 3:30pm. Coblenz is an ancient city in central Germany, and a gateway to the terraced vineyards and ruined castles of the Rhine Gorge. In the centre, a monumental statue of William the Great marks the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers.

Few towns in Germany can match the charm of Cochem. Its picturesque beauty, makes it a favourite place for visitors. Legend, folklore and a rich web of history is woven into every street. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Moselle River Valley, between the Eiffel and Hundsrück. It is surrounded by high elevations, steep vineyards and typical wine villages, offering tastings, festivals and genuine hospitality. Cochem, itself, is a showpiece gem and rated as one of the prettiest villages along the Moselle. Little seems to have changed for centuries. The town has many fine buildings, quaint cottages, black & tan guild houses and winding streets. The town square, lined with its half-timbered houses, is particularly fine.

This morning arrive in Cologne, a 2,000-year-old city spanning the Rhine River in western Germany, is the region’s cultural hub. A landmark of High Gothic architecture set amid the reconstructed old town, the twin-spired Cologne Cathedral is also known for its gilded medieval reliquary and sweeping river views. The adjacent Museum Ludwig showcases 20th-century art, including many masterpieces by Picasso, and the Romano-Germanic Museum houses Roman antiquities. Tonight enjoy the captains Gala Dinner.

Short stop in the hollandaise town of Hoorn to continue sailing to today Amsterdam, the Netherlands’ capital; known for it’s artistic heritage, elaborate canal system, narrow houses with gabled facades…and bicycles.

Disembark the cruise after breakfast and be transferred to your accommodation.
