Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. The tour will take you to some of the most famous attractions in Florence, including the Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral and Piazza del Duomo (entrance not included). Piazza del Duomo, together with Piazza San Giovanni, represent the heart of the city as the most important religious monuments of Florence are situated here. You will see the Baptistery with its octagonal shape, three bronze doors and Giotto’s Bell Tower which is regarded as one of the most beautiful towers in Gothic architecture (entrances not included). The tour will continue through Piazza della Signoria to the Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall of Florence (entrance not included). Following breakfast at your hotel this morning, you'll join a half-day guided tour of Rome with a local guide.
You'll see some of the richest historical landmarks in the world and discover layers of Roman history on Palatine Hill where former emperors and influential figures once lived. You'll then continue to Baroque Rome to admire the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona Square. Following the tour, you will enjoy a typical Roman lunch to indulge in the famous dishes of Carbonara and Amatriciana pasta.
In the afternoon, you can enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You might like to visit the incredible Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel where you can be awe-inspired by the murals and immortal works of Michelangelo.
