TripADeal currently operates tours to more than 100 countries around the world. As there is no unified government response to COVID-19 (novel coronavirus), it’s a very complex situation for us to navigate. The situation is continuing to evolve on an hourly basis.
We understand many of our customers are feeling frustrated at the moment. We get it. But we want you to know we have not given up. We are doing everything we can to find solutions and offer flexibility for our travellers, both those on tour right now and those still to depart.
The global COVID-19 pandemic will pass in time – and the travel industry will bounce back.
In the meantime, we’ve created a ‘Peace of Mind’ offering that allows many customers to defer and re-book upcoming travels to a later date. It’s important to note you can travel well beyond this date. It is not available for every deal at this stage, however we are working to make it possible for as many as we can.
We believe our Peace of Mind offering on selected tours gives travellers more flexibility, with minimal restrictions against this unfolding situation.
What is a “Peace of Mind” offering?
Some customers have been notified of a ‘Peace of Mind’ rescheduling option for their tours later in the year. It means that although the tour is going ahead as planned, for peace of mind you can instead choose to receive a travel voucher to the value of your tour less a rescheduling charge per person. The charge partially offsets costs incurred from domestic and international airlines, tour operators, cruise lines etc.
– If there is an alternative of greater value you would like to take, then you will have to pay the difference.
– You will not have to take the same itinerary. If there is an alternative of greater value you would like to take, then you will have to pay the difference.
Why am I being charged a rescheduling fee in my Peace of Mind Offering?
We are charged high fees for deferring the trip by airlines and operators, but, in the interest of goodwill we have decided to subsidise some of the cost. This is not a TripADeal fee. There are multiple moving parts to our trips, with full payments made to secure places in advance. Charges incurred to provide this offer vary greatly due to a variety of factors, such as country, proximity of travel etc.
How long do I have to use the Peace of Mind offer?
The validity period of this offer varies from deal to deal. You will receive details of how and when you can use your peace of mind credit via email.
Who is receiving a Peace of Mind offer?
TripADeal is a booking agent acting on your behalf. As arrangements have already been made and purchased on your behalf, TripADeal needs to await advice from suppliers including airlines, cruise lines, hotels, transfer companies etc. We are going through all upcoming tours to see what can be rescheduled for a later date. Rescheduling may not be possible for all tours.
You have up to the 31st December 2021 to re-book your trip, but you can travel after this date (subject to availability).
I haven’t received a Peace of Mind offering yet. Will I get one?
We are currently assessing all of our upcoming tours, prioritising those departing soon. Some trips are more flexible than others, and rescheduling may not be possible in all instances. You will be notified if/when a Peace of Mind offering is available for consideration on your trip.
The deadline for the Peace of Mind offering is approaching. Will it be extended?
Some deals and departures have different Peace of Mind Offering deadlines. The deadline for accepting the offer will be provided in an email sent to you by our customer support team.
Why is it not offered for all trips?
There is a lot of variation between tours, even in ‘normal’ times. Some tours are more flexible than others. The COVID-19 crisis is proving to be a tough situation for so many people around the world, including our travellers. We are progressively working with the operators on each of our tours to see what we can organise. Rescheduling may not be possible in all instances. You will be directly notified if/when a peace of mind offering is possible on your trip.
Why is the Peace of Mind offering available now and not earlier?
Unfortunately, we have had to fight hard to gain credits from the airlines and vendors involved. Airlines have shown very little appetite to help out, passing on huge cancellation charges. With a lot of negotiation between TripADeal and many of our partners and vendors – it has taken until now for other parties to come to an agreement on at least giving TripADeal a partial credit so we can cover you. We appreciate how it looks from your side but you can be assured the last thing we would ever want to do is upset our greatest asset, which is you, our customer.
Why we can’t we give refunds
One of the reasons we are able to offer such incredible deals at amazing prices is because we book and pay well in advance. This means as early as 72 hours after your purchase, we start to secure components of your trip, such as your airline tickets, cruise line cabins, accommodation, tours and more. Therefore, we do not hold onto your money.
