  • Explore the rapidly evolving city of Perth at leisure
  • Visit Monkey Mia, Kalbarri, The Pinnacles & more
Includes local guide, accommodation & more

Book With Confidence*

Some experiences just leave you speechless. You know the kind, like meeting wild dolphins in the shallows of iconic Monkey Mia, gazing across a remote landscape with no other humans in sight in Kalbarri National Park, or strolling amid alien rock formations thousands of years in the making at The Pinnacles. This seven day highlights tour visiting Perth and the Coral Coast brings each of these unforgettable experiences - and plenty more - together at a seriously amazing price.

Begin with two nights at leisure in sensational Perth, a city which has evolved into a powerhouse of unique architecture, delicious restaurants, and ultra-slick rooftop bars. Then, it’s time to journey north to the colourful Coral Coast - a destination of quirky towns and spectacular coastline. Stop to view The Pinnacles, a series of weathered limestone pillars rising from the desert sands; visit Geraldton and the famous ‘pink lake’ of Hutt Lagoon; and stroll along picturesque Shell Beach, one of just two beaches in the world comprised entirely of shells. You’ll also get to learn about the Shark Bay World Heritage Area. In Monkey Mia, there’s a chance to see curious dolphins swim up to greet visitors, and then it’s off to experience the Kalbarri National Park, where views of the remarkable Murchison River Gorge are just one of many dazzling sights you’ll witness. Sealing the deal, the tour also includes six nights quality accommodation, local driver-guide, national park fees and more.

Want to explore further afield? Choose from two eight day options featuring either Rottnest Island, home of the adorable quokkas, or the acclaimed Margaret River wine region and Cape Leeuwin.

Overnight: Perth Hotel

Enjoy a free day in Perth at your own leisure. Perhaps take a trip to Fremantle where historic colonial streets pulsate with the energy of street-performers and buskers, couples walk hand-in-hand through its colourful and lively markets. The lively street cafes and restaurants along its famous 'cappuccino strip' are perfect resting places to indulge in a spot of people watching.

Overnight: Perth Hotel

This morning we embark on our adventure along the Western Australia’s Coral Coast, bound for Monkey Mia. Our first stop is Nambung National Park, home of the remarkable Pinnacles, a spectacular series of limestone formations, millions of years old, spread amongst the desert.

We arrive in Geraldton, a trendy seaside city with the emergence of cold-brew coffee, street-art and is blessed with beautiful inner-city beaches and a warm, windy climate. Later, we visit the touching HMAS Sydney Memorial and enjoy some free time to explore the seaside city of Geraldton.

Overnight: Geraldton Hotel

This morning we head to Hutt Lagoon, one of the famous Pink Lakes. This lake has a high concentration of algae, responsible for the waters colour that can range from bright pink, to lilac and even red. You will have the opportunity to participate in a once-in-a-life-time optional activity – Pink Lake Scenic Flight (not included - payable at $250 per person subject to minimum number requirement and weather conditions).

Taking off from Geraldton, you will fly direct to Port Gregory - the historic fishing village which, back in the 1850's, was once a busy port for the export of lead and the site of a whaling station. Around 25-30 minutes into your scenic flight, you will reach the Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon). Complete two turns over the pink lake, which will take approximately 8-minutes. You will see the Hutt Lagoon or the "pink lake", and your pilot will explain how the lake produces beta carotene, a lucrative aquaculture crop estimated to be worth more than $50-million AUD a year worldwide.

Then continue on to the world famous Shell Beach, one of only two beaches in the world formed completely by billions of coquina bivalve shells. Later, we continue to Denham, a former pearling port with safe swimming beaches and calm shallow waters. Visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery & Visitor Centre and learn about the rare scientific and historical objects housed there before continuing north. Return to Perth and relax and share experiences and photos of the trip highlights of the wonderful northern adventure of the Coral Coast.

Overnight: Perth Hotel

Your day trip starts with the high-speed ferry ride to Rottnest Island. Cruise along the Swan River to Fremantle, where the river meets the Indian Ocean, to pick up more passengers for the ride across the water to Rotto, as it’s referred to by locals. When you arrive, hop aboard your coach for an island sightseeing tour.

Listen to commentary from your guide about the history, culture and wildlife of the island, known for its secluded beaches and its resident quokkas, small marsupials who call Rottnest home. As you circle the island, make stops at Wadjemup Lighthouse and the West End, where you can hop off to stroll down the boardwalk, admiring coastal views. Look for fur seals at Cathedral Rocks, and watch for the possible humpback whale, which might be seen from September to November.

When your tour ends at Thompson Bay, you are free to enjoy the island independently until it’s time to catch the ferry back to Perth. Perhaps rent a bike to check out one of the 63 beaches or 20 bays, go snorkelling or stand-up paddleboarding, or visit attractions like Lomas Cottage, Rottnest Island Museum or Pilot Boathouse. (Rentals, activities and entrance fees are at your own expense.) If you select the lunch upgrade, head to Karma Rottnest for a buffet of hot dishes, deli items, salads, desserts and beverages.

Your day trip then ends with the return ferry ride to Perth.

After morning pickup at your hotel or a central meeting point, travel aboard a comfortable coach on the drive south. Along the way, stop to stretch your legs and enjoy morning tea (own expense) at Busselton Jetty, the Southern Hemisphere’s longest wooden jetty.

Farther on, settle into a table at Bootleg Brewery for craft beer and cider samplings and a gourmet platter lunch. Next, taste some of the region’s famous wine at the award-winning Sandalford Winery, which was established in Western Australia in 1840. Stroll around the picturesque grounds and purchase a bottle to take home if you like. In the afternoon, explore Margaret River’s natural attractions. Admire spectacular limestone formations and learn about the area’s ancient geologic history on a guided tour of Mammoth Cave.

Drive through the scenic and serene Boranup Forest to Australia’s most southwesterly point, marked by the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. See where the Southern and Indian Oceans converge, and spot native wildlife such as sea lions, dolphins and rock parrots on a heritage trail walk. Circle back to the township of Margaret River and enjoy a bit of free time to browse shops along the main street.

On the drive back to Perth, stop for dinner at a local restaurant (own expense), before your full-day tour concludes with hotel drop-off in the late evening.
