ITINERARY

Show All Info

Make your own way to Perth for an early afternoon check-in at your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure to experience some of the many highlights of Perth. Under a near-permanent canopy of blue sky, life in Perth unfolds at a pleasing pace. Throw in superb beaches, sensational restaurants and booming small-bar and street-art scenes, and Perth has more than enough to hold your attention. Free from the pressures of congestion, pollution and population afflicting Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Perth and neighbouring port city of Fremantle are uncomplicated, unfettered and alive. It may be the most isolated city of its size on the planet, but this remoteness fosters an outward-looking world view.

Overnight: Ibis Perth or similar, Perth
Meals included: None

Today is free at leisure to explore Perth or alternatively take part in an optional tour such as a day trip to Rottnest Island or a river cruise up the swan river (not included). Find more information on optional tours in the important information section.

Enjoy a self-guided tour and learn how the exclusive Western Rock Lobster is captured in the wild and transported to shore, and take a journey through the live lobster processing plant.

After checking in to our accommodation in Cervantes for the evening, we then journey to the Pinnacles Desert Nambung National Park. Be guided through the desert learning about how these fascinating rocks formed over thousands of years. Enjoy light nibbles & bubbles while witnessing the uniqueness of this landscape. You will be amazed by the colours of the sun setting over this iconic Australian landscape followed by marvelling at the spectacular star display.

Today is a long days drive to Monkey Mia, the small township located in the Shark Bay World Heritage area, which is rich in marine life and Aboriginal heritage. Our first stop is to explore the spectacular rock formations known as the Stromatolites which are the earth’s oldest living organisms, more than 500 million years old. Spend time relaxing on the beach or enjoy a meal at the restaurant.

Overnight: RAC Monkey Mia Resort or similar, Monkey Mia

This morning meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins and get some amazing photos. For more than 50 years wild Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins have visited the shallows at Monkey Mia. In the 1960s fishers returning to Monkey Mia began sharing their catch with some of the dolphins. Over the years trust grew with more dolphins being fed at the jetty and later the beach.

This encounter is one of the world’s great wildlife experiences and attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year. Today dolphins are only fed according to strict guidelines and under supervision of Parks and Wildlife Service officers to ensure the dolphins continue to hunt and behave naturally.

Afterwards continue to explore Shark Bay, wander Eagle Bluff and spot an array of wildlife before arriving into Exmouth in the early evening.

Wandering emus, palm trees laden with screeching cockatoos, and a laid-back air give Exmouth a real Australian charm. Year-round, visitors are drawn by the nearby Ningaloo Reef, with spikes in visitor numbers during the whale-shark season (from April to July) and humpback-whale season (August to October).

Please note on the 19 May 2022 and 11 August 2022 departure dates RAC Exmouth Resort will be used instead of Potshot Hotel & Resort in Exmouth.
