8 Day Outback QLD Explorer

  • Experience Queensland from the coast to the outback
  • Visit Eungella, Longreach, Winton & Charters Towers
Includes hotel accommodation, meals & tour guide

It’s often said that ‘the people make the place’. That’s especially true in outback Queensland. The arid landscape, wild rock formations and endless cattle stations are spectacular, but it’s when you hear the history and stories of the people who live there that it truly comes to life. This eight day guided tour from Mackay will take you beyond the black stump to explore some of the region's most iconic locations, from the Stockman’s Hall of Fame to the Qantas Founders Museum and beyond.

Discover the platypus-spotting mecca of Broken River in the Eungella National Park, go spotlighting to see nocturnal animals in the rainforest, try your luck fossicking for sapphires in the gemfields at Rubyvale, and enjoy a sunset cruise along the Thomson River aboard an historic paddlewheeler. You’ll also visit the Qantas Founders Museum in Longreach, home to icons of the aviation world including the Boeing 747 and DC-3, along with the Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum in Winton and the eerie ghost town of Ravenswood. Along the way you’ll meet some of the friendly locals who call this incredible region home, delving into the realities of life on the land and the passions that spur them to keep the tradition of the past alive. This distinctly Aussie package includes seven nights hotel accommodation, experienced driver guide, 13 meals, select transfers and more.

Want the holiday to continue a little longer? Choose the 12 day package taking in Magnetic Island and Airlie Beach to experience a different side of Queensland.
