This amazing five-day Northern Territory fishing and foodie tour is a chance to fish for this iconic specimen in the prime waters of the Mary River, together with free time to explore the tropical city of Darwin too.

You’ll spend four nights at the waterfront Ramada by Wyndham Zen Quarter in Darwin, witness incredible scenery as you fly across the wetlands of the Top End by charter plane en route to the Mary River, and then fish for Barramundi, Jewfish and Threadfin Salmon in one of the NT’s hottest fishing spots. You’ll also learn how to prepare your delicious catch, as well as enjoy a five-course degustation dinner with matched gins at Charlie’s of Darwin - the Territory's first gin distillery.

Arrive in Darwin and check into the Ramada Suites in Wyndham, where you will spend the next four nights in a spacious Two Bedroom Apartment with kitchenette. These rooms overlook Frances Bay and the Darwin Harbour, allowing you to capture the perfect Darwin sunset. Each modern, air-conditioned apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and refrigerator. The living feature features a flat-screen TV with free cable channels. Only 5 minutes from the main mall, it’s a great base to enjoy Darwin’s CBD, nightlife, waterfront, and dining.

Begin the day with a scenic flight across the spectacular Top End. Soak up the views of wild animals and serene wetlands as you make your way to the Mary River National Park.

After the flight, you will be met on the runway of an outback cattle station and transferred by 4WD to Shady Camp on the Mary River, where you will enjoy a day’s fishing. Chase Barramundi, Jewfish and Threadfin Salmon on one of the NT’s hottest fishing destinations. If you catch a fish, the guide will show you how to make Barramundi Ceviche, a truly river-to-plate experience. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch before returning home by charter plane.

Enjoy the day at leisure before joining an exciting culinary demonstration this evening (approx. 5:30pm).

After spending a day in search of elusive wild Barramundi, you’re no doubt going to want to know how to turn it into a culinary masterpiece. Join us in the hotel’s penthouse suite, where you will be greeted with a cold beer or a glass of wine. Meet the skilled chef and learn the local secrets of fish butchery and working with indigenous ingredients. Enjoy a tasting plate after the demonstration and then sit back and catch the view as the sun goes down. This is a great way to start the evening before heading out to enjoy Darwin’s nightlife, only a short walk away or perhaps retire for a night in after a busy day.

Enjoy the day at leisure before making your own way to the Gin Bar at Charlie’s of Darwin, a specialty bar and gin distillery with rooftop bar overlooking Raintree Park (approx. 5:00pm).

Charlie’s is a short stroll from the hotel. Here you will enjoy a perfect evening of gin and local delicacies (5 courses). With their own distillery onsite, you can taste the local produce and learn more about the gin making process. A truly unique and authentically Territorian experience!
