ITINERARY

Show All Info

Make your own way to Perth for an early afternoon check-in at your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the evening at leisure to experience some of the many highlights of Perth.

Under a near-permanent canopy of blue sky, life in Perth unfolds at a pleasing pace. Throw in superb beaches, sensational restaurants and booming small-bar and street-art scenes, and Perth has more than enough to hold your attention. Free from the pressures of congestion, pollution and population afflicting Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, Perth and neighbouring port city of Fremantle are uncomplicated, unfettered and alive. It may be the most isolated city of its size on the planet, but this remoteness fosters an outward-looking world view.

Overnight: Ibis Perth or similar, Perth
Meals included: None

This morning kick-off your adventure with a guided tour through the Pinnacles Desert. The area contains thousands of weathered limestone pillars. Some of the tallest pinnacles reach heights of up to 3.5m above the yellow sand base. The different types of formations include ones which are much taller than they are wide and resemble columns—suggesting the name of Pinnacles—while others are only a meter or so in height and width resembling short tombstones.

Afterwards enjoy a lunch stop by the sea (not included) then journey up Indian Ocean Drive for some stunning coastal views. After a quick stop in Geraldton, enjoy a visit to the pink lake, then it’s on to the seaside town of Kalbarri for the night.

Kalbarri is a resort town at the mouth of the Murchison River, on Western Australia's coast. It’s known for its seaside cliffs, estuary beach and wild pelicans.

Overnight: Kalbarri Edge Resort or similar, Kalbarri
Meals included: Breakfast

Today visit the marvels of The Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park where water has carved its way through sandstone. Here you have the option to try abseiling (additional cost). Witness bright pops of colour here during wildflower season in spring and enjoy a great photo opportunity at Nature’s Window before strolling a beach made entirely of tiny shells. Afterwards, it’s on to Monkey Mia for the accommodation by the beach. Famous for its wild dolphin experience, Monkey Mia is surrounded by rusty red sand dunes, white sandy beaches and water teeming with wildlife.

Overnight: RAC Monkey Mia Resort or similar, Monkey Mia
Meals included: Breakfast

This morning meet the famous Monkey Mia Dolphins and get some amazing photos. For more than 50 years wild Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins have visited the shallows at Monkey Mia. In the 1960s fishers returning to Monkey Mia began sharing their catch with some of the dolphins. Over the years trust grew with more dolphins being fed at the jetty and later the beach.

This encounter is one of the world’s great wildlife experiences and attracts more than 100,000 visitors a year. Today dolphins are only fed according to strict guidelines and under supervision of Parks and Wildlife Service officers to ensure the dolphins continue to hunt and behave naturally.

Afterwards enjoy chill-out time on the beach here or enjoy a coffee at the restaurant before getting back on the road mid-morning. Visit fascinating rock formations, the Stromatolites, before settling into your accommodation in Coral Bay, gateway to the famous Ningaloo Reef.

Coral Bay is a marine paradise and one of Western Australia’s premier family holiday destinations. Named Coral Bay due to the beautiful coral gardens which lie just metres from the pristine white sandy beach, this tiny, laidback seaside location is a must-visit destination for nature lovers.

Overnight: Ningaloo Reef Resort or similar, Coral Bay
Meals included: Breakfast

Today, have most of the day to explore the Ningaloo Reef at your own leisure.  Choose to join a boat tour (at an additional cost) or enjoy free time to experience the beautiful beaches Coral Bay has to offer. Go for a stroll on the beach and check out the shark nursery, swim with the manta rays (additional cost) or go for a snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef only metres from shore. This evening take the short drive up the peninsula to Exmouth and check into the accommodation for two nights in the town centre.

Wandering emus, palm trees laden with screeching cockatoos, and a laid-back air give Exmouth a real Australian charm. Year-round, visitors are drawn by the nearby Ningaloo Reef, with spikes in visitor numbers during the whale-shark season (from April to July) and humpback-whale season (August to October)

Overnight: RAC Exmouth or similar, Exmouth
Meals included: Breakfast

Today explore Cape Range National Park on a guided tour, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50km of pristine beaches. Relax on the beach or choose to go snorkelling at the stunning Turquoise Bay (snorkel hire available), visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse, relax at Milyering Visitors Center and more before we return to our accommodation late afternoon. Alternatively, you may choose to do a boat tour to the reef or swim (at an additional cost) with Whale Sharks (seasonal - best time to see them is between April and July, although sightings can occur outside these months).

Please note: if swimming with the Whale Sharks or going on a boat tour or swimming with the whale sharks, you will not be able to participate on the guided tour into the Cape Range National Park.

Overnight: RAC Exmouth or similar, Exmouth
Meals included: Breakfast

An early morning start for a long day ahead as we begin the journey south. While a lot of driving today, it’s broken up with stops at the Tropic of Capricorn, Murchison River and a variety of viewpoints before arriving in Geraldton in time for dinner.

The seaside city of Geraldton is emerging as a trendy beach escape. Explore the area's naturally blessed surrounds, which includes beautiful beaches, Aboriginal driving trails and even a pink lake. Geraldton is also the ideal location to access the Coral Coast's carpets of wildflowers, which are in full bloom in late winter and early spring.

Overnight: Best Western Geraldton or similar, Geraldton
Meals included: Breakfast

This morning head out to Green Head and walk the Three Bays Walkway. The Three Bays Walkway is a 2.5km fully-sealed walkway which is found near Green Head; a small coastal town located 288km north of Perth. This walkway includes the sweeping South Bay, the picturesque Dynamite Bay, and the charming yet peaceful Anchorage Bay. It allows visitors to immerse themselves in the coastal landscape, experience its natural beauty and learn about the Aboriginal and European history of the area. Afterwards continue to Lancelin and enjoy a walk amongst the sand dunes. If you’re feeling adventurous, try out sand-boarding for a bit of fun! Return to Perth late afternoon and check into the hotel accommodation.

Overnight: Ibis Perth or similar, Perth
Meals included: Breakfast

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and make your own onwards travel arrangements.

They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour.
