After breakfast this morning, meet your local guide at the reception and enjoy a half day city tour of Copenhagen (approx 3hrs). Today, you will take in the famed charms from the past and present, including the infamous Little Mermaid and the rococo Royal Palace Amalienborg. Take a stroll around Nyhavn, originally a busy commercial port, but nowadays a popular tourist hotspot known for its colourful 17th-century houses. Some of the houses within the port provide great historical significance, such as house number 20, which was home to the famous Danish writer H.C. Andersen. You will find that during summertime Nyhavn is the perfect place to end a long day. If your free time allows, you may like to bike around the city like a true Copenhagener (not included). Copenhagen is world famous for its biking culture which is as old as the bicycle itself.

After breakfast, enjoy free time to shop for Viking souvenirs, relax or take one of the two optional tours on offer today. Welcome to the Kingdom of Norway, a country with some of the most beautiful fjords on Earth. Upon arrival, meet your local guide at the cruise-ship terminal and depart on a half day city sightseeing tour (approx. 3hrs). You will see the main highlights of Oslo, visit the Viking Ship Museum (entrance included), and showcasing three original Viking Age ships, see the Royal Palace, City Hall and Akershus Fortress (entrances not included). You will also enjoy a visit to the famous Frogner Park (entrance included), the largest park in the city, which is also home to an assortment of 200 bronze, granite and cast iron sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. The park is one of Norway’s premier tourist attractions with upwards of one million visiting the park each year, take some time to see why. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure in the Norwegian capital.

You may like to use this time to walk along the streets and explore the city of the royal family and perhaps the main Karl Johan’s street with its many shops, bars and cafes. In the afternoon depart towards Hallingdal Valley, on the way enjoy a quick photo stop at Torpo church and Lake Tyrifjord before reaching your final destination, Geilo.

Begin your Norway in a Nutshell Adventure! This morning board your train towards Myrdal - the final destination today is Bergen. Myrdal station is a mountainous railway station and junction, located about 13km from the village Flåm. Here, you will board the famous Flåmsbana - one of the steepest train lines in the world. The train journey runs through fantastic nature, past the Rallar road, steep mountains, breath-taking waterfalls, through 20 tunnels and offers so many viewpoints that many feel like travelling multiple times between the mountain and the fjord. Upon arrival in Flåm, you will have some free time to discover this beautiful village. You can choose to take an optional Cruise to Gudvangen through the incredible Sognefjord’s branches - Auralndsfjord and Nerøyfjord (UNESCO World Heritage site) Afterwards continue to Bergen by coach.

The city's grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell her 700-year-old history beautifully. During your sightseeing tour, you will see the Gamla Stan (Old town), where you will be charmed by cobblestone streets, crooked but beautifully preserved buildings, The Royal Palace, gothic churches and excellent cafés, bars, restaurants and Swedish design-ware shops (entrances not included).

Today is yours at leisure. Walk along the streets and explore the city of the royal family, and the main Drottninggatan (Queen Street), with many shops, bars and cafes. Or you may take a chance to join an optional Stockholm Archipelago Cruise with a guide.

Day 11: Stockholm archipelago Cruise: $55 per person
This is the perfect boat sightseeing tour if you're looking to discover the best and most beautiful parts of the Stockholm archipelago in a short period of time (approx 2.5-3hrs). During the tour, the knowledgeable onboard guide will share little anecdotes and tell you all there is to know about the various historical, cultural, and natural sights you pass on your way. Enjoy a journey full of beautiful attractions and fascinating stories while you relax and take in the famous scenery of the archipelago. After breakfast on board, arrive in Turku. Upon disembarkation, enjoy an orientation tour of the city with your tour leader. Turku is a medieval and modern city which was awarded European Capital of Culture in 2011. During the summer, the riverbanks come to life as people gather here to eat, drink and listen to music.

In the afternoon depart for Helsinki. Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is a vibrant seaside city encased by beautiful islands and great green parks. Enjoy a guided tour with a local guide (approx. 3 hrs) to see the highlights of the city. Amongst others, you will see Senaatintori, the Senate square’s, and its magnificent architectural ensemble. Right around the corner near the harbour, you will find the Kauppatori, a picturesque market square, characterised by an abundance of flowers, fruits and busy traders. Next, see the Tuomiokirkko (cathedral), It was built in the 19th century and has an impressive copper dome - Concerts regularly take place inside. Another church, the Temppeliaukio kirkko, is carved into the rocky earth which enhances the excellent acoustics. Your last stop is the Uspenski Cathedral - the neo-Byzantine Orthodox Cathedral rears its mighty mass of red brick in the Katajanokka Island (entrances not included).

This morning, you will be transferred to the cruise-ship terminal to for your ferry to the medieval capital of Estonia, Tallinn. Upon arrival, be met by a local guide at the city centre for a walking tour of Tallinn (approx. 2 hrs), a truly medieval experience. Tallinn offers a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. The tour takes you around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town where you will see; Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall (entrances not included). After the tour, you may like to delight yourself with an optional Medieval lunch in a traditional Tallinn restaurant. Return to Helsinki by ferry later today and be transferred to the hotel.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide: 
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. 
 
Tour Leader: 
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. 
 
Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured. 
 
CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
Scandinavia and Baltic States
In spring, the days get longer, and the temperatures rise slowly; the first warm days, more likely in the second half of April. By mid-May, the maximum temperatures hover around 20/22°C.
 
Summer in the Baltic states is a pleasant season, the maximum temperatures hover around 21/22°C, which means that they are suitable for outdoor activities. The nights are cool still cool however, with minimum temperatures around 11/12 °C. August is one of the hottest months of the year with average temperatures around 18°C with highs of 23°C.

Luggage:

Our vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair access, so unfortunately our tours are currently not suitable for wheelchair users and those less mobile. 
Please note: a general level of fitness will be required. If you have any concerns please consult your healthcare provider prior to purchase/travel.
 
Gratuities / Tipping:
Land
Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour price for services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour. The recommended tip is €5 per person per day this covers the guide/leader and the driver, which will be collected whilst on tour. 
  
Tipping for all services provided on tour is always a matter of personal discretion, however please be aware that tipping is considered by many locals to be a part of their normal remuneration and they may approach you for payment and there is no need to be intimidated by the request.
 
Sightseeing:
Please note: In the event entrance to a site is affected by changes in operating hours or public holiday closures, your itinerary where possible, will be adjusted or an similar activity will be offered in its place (subject to availability).
 
Shopping:
Shopping overseas can be a daunting and confusing experience, especially when there is a language barrier. Please be very cautious when foreign currencies and prices are involved. If paying by credit card, please pay close attention to the amount you are being charged and keep all of your receipts. 
Do not make any purchases you are not comfortable with or feel pressured into. If you are uncertain or need assistance with the language barrier, please seek assistance from your Tour Guide/Leader.

A tourist visa is not required for Europe for stays up to 90 days if travelling on an Australian passport.
 
Please note: Passengers who are not Australian citizens must check with the respective consulate or visa agency to determine what their visa requirements are and what personal identification is required. It is also important to note, some areas of employment such as journalism, government authorities and charity organisations may have additional restrictions in applying for Visas. This may in turn affect the type of application required.

Voluntary Changes


This includes booking changes requested by you, including but not limited to those changes requiring an airline ticket or a Purchase Confirmation reissue.

  

·   1st Change - $100.00 per person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.

·   2nd Change - $150.00 per person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.

·   Subsequent changes - $250.00 per person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.

·   Changes within 30 days of departure $350.00 person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.

·   Changes within 14 days of departure $500.00 per person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.

  

Name Changes Due To Passenger Error
·   If the incorrect name has been advised to TripADeal, charges of $150.00 per person + any additional charges applied by the airline/cruise company/accommodation/other travel provider.
