Show All Info

Today you will depart Melbourne at 7.30am sharp from your pick up point outside the National Gallery of Victoria, St Kilda Road. Your tour will start as you head off from Melbourne and down the iconic Great Ocean Road, stopping en-route in Anglesea for morning tea and a comfort stop. Arriving in Apollo Bay you will prepare for an afternoon walk.

Begin your walk at Marengo Beach – home to a colony of Australian Fur seals, which can often be seen on the rocks in the bay. Set off with your guide. Along the way, they will explain some of the local history. Following the Great Ocean walking trail, you'll enjoy excellent views along the coast looking south-west towards Cape Otway and north-east over the ranges surrounding Apollo Bay.

Afterwards, descend down to a beach for a rest before heading into a small section of Otway rainforest. The trail enters the forest then starts to climb into higher forest grounds of the Great Otway National Park just above Shelly Beach, you will end your day at Cape Otway Lightstation, where your guides will prepare a delicious two-course dinner.

Overnight: Cape Otway Lightstation
Meals included: Lunch;Dinner

After breakfast and preparing lunch your guides are ready to roll as you hit the trail.

Today’s walk begins from Cape Otway Lightstation (right at your front door). The views are superb throughout this section of the walk. The walk from the lighthouse winds its way through wind sculpted landscapes of sand dunes, coastal scrub-land and magnificent calcified cliffs before arriving to your first lookout. At Aire River Lookout there are stunning views down to the estuary, where the Aire River meets the Southern Ocean and Glenaire Beach.

Following on from Aire River lookout you have a further 6km walk through to Castle Cove. From Aire River the track heads inland for a while, climbing up and around the next headland through tea-tree forests, and then continues along the coastal path with sweeping views of the rugged coastline. Expect some ups and downs with a little climbing as you make your way to Castle Cove.

Located on a spectacular bend of the Great Ocean Road at Glenaire, Castle Cove is a beautiful beach surrounded by towering cliffs which have high archaeological significance. After your walk back to Cape Otway Lightstation your guides will prepare a Sensational two-course dinner.

After breakfast and preparing lunch, you will get ready to hit the trail and walk from Milanesia Beach, via Ryan’s Den to Moonlight Head.

From Milanesia Gate your guide will have you descend to a beautiful and remote beach. Isolated, rugged and hidden, Milanesia Beach receives few visitors and that’s what makes it's so special. From here the trail continues along the high sea cliffs to Ryan’s Den with breathtaking views all the way back to Cape Otway and west to Cape Volney. This is usually your lunch spot and one of the most scenic locations along the walk.

Afterwards, you will trek from Ryan’s Den and back on the track that continues through coastal forests that lead over Cape Volney to Moonlight Head.

At the end of your day you will indulge a splendid two-course dinner prepared by guides.

After breakfast and lunch preparations, head out on your last day of walking with your guides. Following the cliff lines of the Great Ocean Walk finishing at the iconic Twelve Apostles. The walk is easy to moderate nature, allowing plenty of time to soak up the views.

The walk starts above the wetlands around Princetown which supports a wide variety of bird life. You'll walk down through the Gellibrand River Estuary and reconnect with the Great Ocean Walk trail. Here you are now on the home stretch into Port Campbell National Park and the world-famous Twelve Apostles soon come into sight.

The last kilometre of the Great Ocean Walk takes you through to the Twelve Apostles Visitor Centre, where you can view the Apostles up close. Lunch is usually served here. Afterwards you will head back to Melbourne with your guides via the inland route.

Please note: Arrival back in to Melbourne is at approx. 5:30pm. Please make your own travel or accommodation arrangements as your tour here concludes.
