Today meet your guide at the front street entrance of the Launceston Gorge Carpark at 9.30am (72 Basin Rd, West Launceston TAS 7250). Here you will begin your three day tour of indulgence and exploration in the stunning Cradle Mountain highlands. The tour kicks off with a tasting of some of the amazing local produce that can be found in the region:

The Ashgrove milk and cheese factory: This factory is in the heart of dairy country in Northern Tasmania. Farm fresh milk, cream, cheese, ice cream and butter are all on offer with more varieties of each than you could ever imagine. Have a sneaky peak behind the scenes at how they make their cheese before taking home specialty beer matched cheeses.

Seven Sheds Brewery: Witness the true paddock-to-glass experience at Seven Sheds Brewery. With organic hops grown on-site, and locally sourced honeys and malt, a tour of the gardens and brewery will give you full insight into how these delicious seasonal beers, honey wines and melomels are created. Willie Simpson’s beers are a long way from the usual tastes of big, brewery draughts - they need to be tasted to be believed. Enjoy tailored beer tasting to refresh your palette.

Spreyton Cider: You can’t visit the Apple Isle and not sample the produce that Tasmania was first so famous for. With four generations and over 100 years of experience, Spreyton is the perfect place to sample exquisite ciders. All ciders are made completely in-house to ensure the quality and taste - after your first sip you’ll agree it’s a decision well made. Sample six of their tree to bottle ciders, a ginger beer, their famous apple juice and experience a taste for every season. Don’t forget to take a complimentary bottle of cider with you for the road.

Southern Wild Distillery: The pleasure project of a local from Devonport George Burgess has produced gin that could only occur with the clean air of Northern Tasmania, using the clear water of Cradle Mountain snowmelt running through the Dasher and Fisher rivers - where the gin got its name - and mixed with local botanicals to give layers of flavours and aromas to evoke the very places they were harvested. Now the only thing remaining is to decide where does your heart lie - the Mountain, the Meadow or the Ocean? Wet your whiskers with a gin and whiskey flight.

This evening you will be transferred to your hotel accommodation.

Overnight: Cradle Mountain Accommodation

This morning after breakfast you will embark on a day tour. Choose the way you would like to see Dove Lake.

Option 1: Feel like rowing out into pure bliss? Then canoeing Dove Lake is for you. The view of Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain from the water is inspiring, while gliding across the water you can’t help but be present and engaged with your incredible surrounds. You never know which animals will be spotted from this unique viewpoint.

Option 2: Prefer a slower pace to admire the beauty of Cradle Mountain? The Dove Lake Circuit walk may be more your style. This six kilometre sojourn leads through the Ballroom Forest, a cool temperate rainforest full of ancient myrtles, and continues beneath the crags of Cradle Mountain and Little Horn. It’s relatively flat and you may even find yourself joined by a wombat or two. There’s also an uphill climb you can take, which lead to stunning views from Marion’s Lookout. Not only is it a breathtaking view at the top, this walk itself is both beautiful and unforgettable. At the lookout you will indulge in a picnic hamper of local produce carried in by your guide.

After your descent back to flatter grounds you will return to your hotel, where you will start unwinding for the night by the fire with a special wine and cheese tasting to celebrate the gourmet produce this area is celebrated for. Indulge in six lovingly handcrafted wines with three delicious local cheeses all while being guided through the stories behind the wine and cheese.

After spending the day seeing all the beauty of Cradle Mountain, settle down for dinner at Hellyers Restaurant to indulge in fresh seasonal local produce. Shared plates mean that you don’t have to miss out on tasting a range of delights from the menu, from spectacular seafoods and organic garden delights to an amazing peppered steak. All accompanied by locally produced Tasmanian beer or wine - it’s the perfect end to a perfect day.

Please note: The Wild experience of Canoeing Dove Lake is weather dependant.

After breakfast, you will pack your bags and get ready to head off to your first stop and tour of the day.

Barringwood Winery: A love affair with wine inspired the origins of Barringwood winery. A long growing season gives these wines an elegance and delicacy, while the cool climate creates the acidity. Delight in the wines whilst overlooking the stunning Don Valley and indulge in simple, handmade, local and seasonal produce for lunch.

Later you will arrive at the last stop of the day, the gorgeous city of Launceston. Here you can enjoy the afternoon to roam this city and region at your own pace.

Launceston: Tasmania’s second largest city has a lot to offer. Blessed with its vicinity to local produce you’ll find a place to satisfy any craving. A vibrant hub of activity, it has the charm of a small town with all the amenities of a city. Combine this with the stunning Cataract Gorge only a short walk from the city centre (and a must do) you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Once you have seen all there is to feast your eyes on, you will be collected by your tour guide who will pick you up from your chosen destination within the Launceston region, and transfer you back to the Launceston Gorge Carpark where the tour will come to an end.
