Khasab; also known as the “Top of the Emirates” or the “Arabian Norway”. This stunning area is surrounded by fjords and breathtaking emerald water. The town of Khasab was originally founded by the Portuguese at the beginning of the 17th century and offers many interesting attractions including the Khasab Fortress. Stepping ashore in Oman’s capital Muscat means stepping into one of the oldest cities of the Middle East. From here, incense was shipped to Greece and Rome as far back as the 2nd century. Today it is still possible to find traces of a glorious past in the old centre, where, until the latter part of the past century, the gates that separated the various quarters would be closed three hours after dawn. Muttrah, the historic centre of trade and activity of the capital is one of the most intriguing and well preserved parts of the town centre.

Your first full day at sea offers the chance to relax on the Splendida’s sundecks and poolside areas. Enjoy the warm sea breeze or participate in one of MSC’s entertaining onboard activities.

Spread across islands and promontories between the Arabian Sea and the famous Kerela backwaters, Fort Kochi (now Cochin) is Kerala’s prime tourist destination. As you approach the city by cruise ship, the waterfront with its sloping red-tiled roofs and ranks of peeling, pastel-coloured warehouses, offers a view that has changed little in centuries. Make your way to Cochin and wander between spice markets, Chinese fishing nets, a synagogue, a Portuguese palace, India’s first European church and seventeenth-century Dutch homes all within an easy walk. In the evening, try the utterly unique experience of Kathakali theatre, involving ornately made-up performers depicting dramatic scenes from Hindu mythology (not included).

This morning dock in Penang, an area in the far northwest of Peninsular Malaysia where the British established their first Malay port in the late eighteenth century. Penang is a fascinating blend of colonial, Indian, Malay and – especially – Chinese and Peranakan heritage. Filling a triangular cape at the island’s northeastern corner is Georgetown’s centre, its historical core is a maze of lanes lined with shophouses in various states of repair and liberally sprinkled with religious buildings, social clubs, temples and other monuments.

Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

Today stop in Port Klang, the gateway to Kuala Lumpur (approximately 90 minutes drive each direction). Take the option to transfer into Kuala Lumpur (not included) and explore the vibrant capital of Malaysia. Rather than a discernible city centre, Kuala Lumpur has several hubs of activity. Close to the rivers’ original “muddy confluence”, the former colonial district and its distinctive architecture surrounds Merdeka Square with the busy tourist hub of Chinatown just southeast.

Overnight: MSC Splendida

Meals included: Breakfast;Lunch;Dinner

Beautiful Singapore is a must-see Asian city, a melting pot of different cultures with many original ethnic enclaves still boasting distinct neighbourhoods and restored period architecture. An overnight stop here allows you to explore at your own pace. Little India has its garland-sellers and curry houses, Chinatown its calligraphers and fortune-tellers, while Arab Street is home to cluttered stores selling fine cloths and curios. Right at the core of downtown Singapore are historic public buildings and the lofty cathedral of the Colonial District. Shoppers will need travel no further than Orchard Road.

Streets and avenues teem with activity as locals go about their daily life: smartly dressed schoolkids wander past street side baguette-sellers; women shoppers ride motorbikes clad in gangster-style bandanas to protect their skin from the sun and dust; while teenagers in designer jeans chirrup into mobile phones. MSC’s shore excursions (not included) can be a clever option to see much of Ho Chi Minh City.

TOUR GUIDE VS. TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide:
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group.

Tour Leader:
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined.

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured.

- Check your specific sailing for exact departure and arrival times. All times are local to the port.

Cruise Loyalty Discounts:
Please note: Travellers booked via TripADeal will not be entitled to receive any cruise line customer loyalty discounts. CLIMATE & AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
United Arab Emirates & Oman
The weather in the UAE and Oman in March and April is hot and sunny. The daytime temperature averages around 30 degrees celsius, with 12 hours of sunshine per day. It has a desert climate with little to no rainfall at this time of year, making it a perfect time to explore outside.

South East Asia
Malaysia and Singapore - These two countries straddle the equator and will be hot and humid year-round. April sits within a transitional period between monsoons, meaning winds are light and rain will be localised and infrequent.
Hong Kong - April is mostly sunny with relatively low humidity, but may still have some misty weather. The average temperatures are between 20 °C and 25 °C.
Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam - The temperature and humidity in Vietnam starts to rise in April as does the chance of rain. However, April is considered the last month of the dry season and is very pleasant time to visit.
Cochin, India - Cochin has a tropical climate with temperatures averaging between 24°C to 35°C. April is a part of their summer season, just before the monsoon season starts meaning days can be hot and humid, but with less frequent rains than May.

Sightseeing:
