Today depart from either Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide or Perth for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Fly with either Vietnam Airlines, Emirates, Malaysian Airlines or Singapore Airlines to name a few (subject to availability). On arrival be picked up and be transferred to your hotel. *Please note some flights may depart the night before

Le Duy Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City Meals included: In-Flight

This morning you will travel to the underground village of Cu Chi and discover the incredible 200km network of tunnels where the Viet Cong lived and fought during the war. Spend half a day visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Post Office, the former Presidential Palace and the War Remnants Museum.

Today you will explore Cai Be in the Mekong Delta. Tour the colourful floating market, cruise among local barges full of fruits and vegetables. Then, stop at some local workshops where you can see how to make rice paper, coconut candy and pop-rice, pop-corn. The rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals whilst you sit back and relax. It is so interesting to see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves and take in some activities of the local farmers. After lunch, you will walk around and taste some local fruits whilst listening to local traditional music. Later, take a cruise to Vinh Long city then disembark and travel back to Ho Chi Minh City in afternoon.

This morning after breakfast enjoy some leisure time until you are transferred to the airport for your departure to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi you will be transferred to the hotel. Afternoon free at leisure.

Today you will explore on a full day tour of Vietnam’s capital city, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the traditional stilt house and the revered One-Pillar Pagoda. Next will be Vietnam’s first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature. This afternoon, visit the Ethnology Museum where you can discover the diversity of Vietnam’s many ethnic groups. This evening is free at leisure to discover Hanoi’s nightlife.

Today depart for Halong Bay. The wondrous Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam's most impressive scenic sights. Your exciting overnight cruise will provide you with a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves.

This morning wake up early to enjoy the bay at its best. Check out after enjoying a sumptuous brunch before the cruise returns to Halong Pier where your driver will be waiting for you to transfer to Noi Bai Airport for a flight to Vientiane. You will be met at the Vientiane Airport and transferred to your hotel.

In the morning, you will first visit Wat Si Muang, which is very famous for its supernatural power. Transfer out to see Buddha Park, an enchanting collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the Mekong Riverside meadow, close to the Friendship Bridge. There are approximately 200 religious images dating back over 500 years, which were created by a mysterious monk spreading his philosophy on life and revealing his ideas about the universe. In the afternoon, see the major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket, the temple with thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to the national icon, the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. A spectacular view over the Mekong River at sunset is a perfect way to finish the day.

You are free to stroll around the town for your own exploration before a driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you will be met by a tour representative and transferred to your hotel.

Villa Somphong Hotel, Luang Prabang Meals included: Breakfast

Today, you will first visit the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artefacts. You will then embark on a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives you a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside, before reaching the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the local rice wine. On arrival back in the city, visit the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture. Afterwards, visit the Traditional Art and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ many ethnic cultures. From there, transfer to visit Wat Prabath to admire the sunset; this is the really peaceful place to catch the last beauty of the day. The tour ends after a visit to the famous Night Market, where you can find a lovely collection of handmade textiles made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.

An early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. From there, you will take a short visit to the morning local market near the Royal Palace. At the market, you can find anything from rice, to fresh vegetables, to steamed fish, frogs, and anything else that might be the day’s catch, just set up on the ground, this is what the locals do every day. This is really the chance for you to get a real flavour of the local culture. After breakfast at the hotel, ascend the 329 steps to the top of Phousi Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the Mekong River. Then visit Wat Visoun, dating back to 1513 during the reign of King Wisunarat (Visoun), this is Luang Prabang’s oldest temple and was once home to the Prabang Buddhas. You then transfer directly to the beautiful Kuang Si Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the pools or walk along the forest trails. Before returning to Luang Prabang, stop to visit the Kuang Si Falls Butterfly Park (closed on Tuesday’s, and from 3rd May to 19th June every year), one of the must-visit spots, where you can have an optional 15-minute tour (not included) to learn about butterflies and local flora. Laos is also known for its traditional crafts, you will take a short visit to the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Centre, where you will have a short tour so you get information about Silk, about the weaver and the women that work in the centre.

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the short flight to Siem Reap. After being met on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, enter the South Gate of Angkor Thom Temple to be met by the marvellous wonders of the eerie Bayon, Phimean Akas, the terrace of Elephants and the terrace of the Leper King.

In the morning visit famous Angkor Wat, built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century. The largest and best preserved of the Angkor temples, it is also the most well known world wide and a source of pride for the Khmer people, Angkor Wat has appeared on the Cambodian flag for almost 150 years. After lunch, visit Preah Khan Temple, built in the 12th century for King Jayavarman VII. Then take a half hour journey to Banteay Srey, one of the most unusual of the Angkor temples. The temple lies approximately 20km north of the main group of temples and is constructed from elaborately carved red sandstone.
