After breakfast you will enjoy a half day guided tour of Rome. Explore the historic centre of Rome and see the iconic sites such as: the Pantheon (entrance not included), Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum (entrance not included). Your local guide will tell you the stories and anecdotes about the Eternal city and reveal secret corners of the city. The perfect way to get to grips with the orientation, art and history of Rome. Enjoy some free time for lunch (not included) in a typical trattoria or enjoy an aperitif in one of the characteristic small squares. The afternoon is free for you to discover the city on your own or to do some shopping.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to Tuscany. On the way, you will stop in Montepulciano, for a visit of the medieval village and an ancient winery where you will taste two local red wines: Rosso di Montepulciano DOC and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, along with fresh bread and locally produced olive oil. Then continue towards Pienza to discover the tiny village, which is the perfect mix of architecture, food & tradition. Arrive in Montalcino, and visit a local winery and enjoy a taste of red wines with a typical lunch. Late this afternoon arrive in Siena.

This morning after breakfast meet your local guide for a guided walking tour of Siena. The historic centre of Siena has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Discover the medieval city, see the Duomo of Siena (entrance not included), Piazza del Campo and enjoy the open-air museum. In the afternoon enjoy free time at leisure.

After breakfast transfer to Florence. Along the way, stop in the Chianti area for a wine tasting, followed by an Italian cooking class and a traditional regional lunch. Arrive into Florence in the late afternoon.

This morning after breakfast meet your local tour guide for a street food walking tour, including a visit of the local market to taste some of the most mouth-watering specialities such as Lampredotto and Trippa. The tour will start from the colourful Market of San Lorenzo – here you will find stalls offering the best Florentine and Italian food specialities. Butchers, fishmongers, fruit and vegetable vendors and small specialty shops are selling local olive oils, meat, cheese and much, much more. It’s great fun to walk around and take in new sights and tastes. During the tour you will also discover the most classical sites of Florence including the Piazza Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. This afternoon enjoy free time at leisure in this magical city.

This morning enjoy breakfast at your hotel and then experience an “Explore-Taste-Create” Laboratory in Florence’s surrounds. Your local guide will take you to meet a local artisan and you will learn how to weave a wicker basket. At the end you will be involved in a genuine Florentine atmosphere of a typical “osteria" (a rustic venue offering diverse Italian cuisine) for a social lunch. In the late afternoon return to Florence.

After breakfast and check out, depart to La Spezia. Embark on a boat cruise to Cinque Terre, a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline (in case of bad sea conditions, you will board a regional train). Enjoy a full day to discover the beautiful villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Manarola and Rio Maggiore. Here surrounded by a breathtaking panorama you will enjoy a guided wine tasting of Cinque Terre wines in an incredible location: the famous Via dell’Amore which is high on the cliffs overlooking the sea. The tasting will be accompanied by local snacks like focaccia bread, olives, pesto or the typical rice or vegetable cake. Enjoy the unique atmosphere of this place, colourful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces, harbours are filled with fishing boats and trattorias turn out seafood specialties along with the Liguria region’s famous sauce, pesto. Relax in the late afternoon, overlooking the sea and the coloured houses of Rio maggiore before returning to La Spezia for the night.

Santa Caterina Park Hotel, Sarzana (La Spezia) Meals included: Breakfast

Today head to the port city of Genoa. On the way stop in the seaside village of Rapallo, where you will travel by boat to reach Portofino. Visit the famous “piazzetta” (little square) where the international jet set meets. Then proceed by boat to the enchanted and secluded abbey of San Fruttuoso. Surrounded by lush vegetation, you can only reach the abbey by sea or on foot. Here time seems to stop, crystalline waters, an ancient abbey and fishermen boats. Another reason San Fruttuoso is often visited, is for the famous ‘Christ of the Abyss’ – a submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ. Enjoy a lunch based on local specialities: home made lasagne with pesto sauce and the typical frittura di pesce (fried fish). Continue by boat to the fishermen village of Camogli – where, after a pleasant walk on the promenade and time for an authentic Gelato (not included), you will depart by coach towards Genoa.

After breakfast, meet the local tour guide for a guided walking tour along the narrow alleys of Genoa’s historical centre. Here you will discover the real “heart” of the city: old shops, noble palaces and churches - which preserve incredible works of art. For lunch you will taste some of the specialities of the Ligurian cuisine in one of the oldest “osteria” of the city. Enjoy farinata, anchovies, vegetables pie and the famous “pansotti” together with a glass of local white wine “il bianchetto”. After lunch you will visit a Gold Leaf Laboratory. Here the Master craftsman will show you the ancient techniques of gilding and lacquering. After the demonstration you will enjoy a 2 hour workshop, during which you will create your very own gold frame to take home with you as a very special souvenir! Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

This morning after breakfast you will depart to Milan. Upon arrival enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide to visit the main attractions. This afternoon enjoy free time in the Italian capital of fashion and design. Maybe take a stroll in the lively Navigli suburb, the riverside area for an aperitif as a true local!

Hotel Ramada Plaza, Milan Meals included: Breakfast

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Lake Como, a full day to appreciate the picturesque lakefront setting. Take a boat to Bellagio, a village on an outcropping on Lake Como. It’s known for its cobbled lanes and elegant buildings. During the journey you can admire the beautiful historic villas on the lake. In the afternoon return back to Milan.

Climate & Average Temperature
Located on the Mediterranean Area, the centre-north of Italy climate is warm to hot from Spring to Summer. The warmest weather is June - August, when temperatures range from 25-30°C (77° - 86° F) , and the water temperature is in the mid 20s (mid 70°F). May and October , the temperatures are cooler and range from 17-24°C (60s -75°F). The average water temperature rarely reaches 18°C (65°F).

TOUR GUIDE Vs TOUR LEADER
Tour Guide: 
Often locals with intimate knowledge of an area, its culture, and history. Their role entails providing commentary, routing the tour, and seeing that people have a good time. They are a licensed, qualified expert who supplies specific information on history, art, architecture and culture of the city/village/attraction in which he or she is guiding the tour. The guide meets the group at the required place and leaves the group at the end of the tour, they do not travel with the group. 

Tour Leader: 
An experienced person tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of tours, as well as providing practical support to passengers throughout the whole trip. Their role primarily includes assisting with accommodation, transportation between locations, and communication with tour guides in each stop. A tour leader may provide general guidance around a city or village, and offer information on the place visited on the bus, however they are not required to have specific knowledge on art, architecture, or history. They are not allowed to provide a guided tour or commentary of a city/village/attraction once there and if caught doing so, can be fined. 

Please note: Tour leaders/guides are not a standard inclusion in all travel offers. Tour leaders/guides will only be made available when particularly required to enhance the experience of the destination featured. 

COACH TOUR
Meals:
17 meals are included in the tour, for all other meals; lunches and dinners the tour leader (when available) will offer assistance with reservations, suggestions and directions to local restaurants. You can also enquire about any allergies and food and if necessary advise meals to be to be prepared with any medication you require.

Luggage:
You will be responsible for all your personal belongings whilst on the tour. With regards to luggage, you must carry your own luggage from the coach to the hotel room and back to the coach. The driver will assist with the uploading and off-loading of their luggage from the coach.

Gratuities:
Gratuities (tips) are not included in the tour price for services of the tour leader (when available) and driver throughout the tour. The recommended tip for the tour leader and driver is €5 per person per day, which will be collected whilst on tour.

Fitness Level Required / Mobility:
Our vehicles are not equipped with wheelchair access, so unfortunately our tours are currently not suitable for wheelchair users and those less mobile.
