Today depart from either Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, *Adelaide or *Perth for Taipei! Fly with either China Southern Airlines, Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines to name a few (subject to availability).

Upon arrival, meet the tour representative and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon you will have leisure time to explore the vibrant city of Taipei. Taipei is a shopaholic’s heaven. You can find all sorts of bargains from world famous brands at one shopping district.

After breakfast drive to Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan’s largest lake where the east side is shaped like a "sun", and the west side is shaped like a "moon", hence the name "Sun Moon Lake." Sightseeing around the area includes: the famous Wen Wu Temple and Literature Warrior Temple dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, Holy Monk Shrine and Peacock Garden. After touring around Sun Moon Lake, enjoy a delicious local lunch at the "Taiwanese Gourmet Restaurant". After lunch depart for "Nine Aboriginal Tribes Culture Village" to see the shows and beautiful garden of the theme park and Aboriginal culture village. Experience Sun Moon Lake Sky Ropeway (1878m length) for the beautiful panoramic view of the lake. Tonight you will stay in Chiayi City.

This morning drive to Alishan (Ali Mountain)", which is located at the end of the Alishan Forest Railway. If weather permits, you will be able to see the eternal sea of clouds and sunrise on Jhushan after an early morning walk through a spectacular landscape of valleys and trails. Sightseeing around the Alishan National Scenic Area includes: Sister Lake, Zhaoping Park, Sochun Temple, Old Alishan Tree Site, Eternity Bridge, Alishan High Mountain Tea Farm, just to name a few. After experiencing the amazing Alishan, you will drive to Kaohsiung City and enjoy a city tour. See the largest industrial harbor - Kaohsiung Harbor. Visit: Sizihwan, the former British Consulate overlooking the Kaohsiung Harbour. In the evening, you will visit the Liuhe Night Market, to taste Taiwanese local food (not included). You will visit the famous "Love River," which is now renowned for its café culture and night tour which are popular among local couples for a romantic night.

After breakfast, leave Kaohsiung for today's exciting journey towards the east side of Taiwan. First enjoy a visit to Kenting National Park, undoubtedly one of the most beautifully reserved natural forest in Taiwan. It is located in the south of Taiwan with popular beaches bordering on the tropical region of Taiwan where palm trees, banana trees, sugar cane and surfing beaches are part of the scene. Other sightseeing includes the southernmost tip of Taiwan, "Maopitou" (named after the shape of cat-nose- like rock) "Sail Rock". The coast of coral reef is worth a visit for land-reforms which strongly affected by wave erosions, efflorescence, and salt-soaking. The natural landscape like wave erosion caves, ditches, and pillars are amazing, the sea view here is attractive and very enjoyable. In the afternoon visit the Eluanbi Light House, the world's first military equipped light house.

Today enjoy an exciting East Coast Tour. The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as "Taiwan's last unspoiled land", stretches 170 kilometres down the east coast of the island. Weather, erosion, and accumulation have produced a wide range of landforms here. Drive north along the scenic east coast via Siaoyeliou, Dulan, Tunghe Bridge (where you may see wild monkeys) and Sansientai. Sansientai is reached by crossing the intriguing Eight-Arch Bridge. The island of Sansientai (translates to Three Immortals Terrace) has three large rock formations which, legend says, was visited by three of the eight Immortals from Chinese mythology. Upon arrival into Hualien, the rest of the day is at your leisure to relax or explore.

After breakfast, visit Taroko National Park. With its marble-walled gorges, lush flora and mountainous landscape, Taroko is one of Taiwan’s most stunning locations. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. The road is carved into the sheer walls of rock winding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Tse Mu Bridge, stops will be made at Swallow Grotto, Changchun Temple and Shakadang Trail. Then you will drive back to Taipei with a stop at Qingshui Cliff, drive through Syue-Shan Long Tunnel (12.9 kms). Tonight you will be driven around to explore the vibrant night life of Taipei, e.g. Taipei 101 Building, Night Markets etc.

Enjoy a morning tour of Taipei. First drive by the Presidential Building. This renaissance-style building has been the highest seat of government in Taiwan for over a century, first as the office of the governor general's office during the Japanese colonial period, and after 1949 as Taiwan's "White House." Then visit the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, which towers over 25 hectares of landscaped gardens, graceful pavilions, and ponds in downtown Taipei. The tour then continues to the National Palace Museum, which houses the world's largest and most valuable collections of Chinese art treasures. The collection is even too large to be displayed at one time! While many popular pieces remain on permanent display, other items are rotated regularly, making each visit unique.
